NASHVILLE — Dozens of undocumented immigrant students from Chattanooga and other parts of Tennessee rallied Tuesday at the state Legislature and spoke with House members in hopes of reviving stalled legislation that would let them pay in-state tuition rates to attend public colleges and universities.
The bill failed last year in the House by a single vote after passing the Senate overwhelmingly.

Sen. Todd Gardenhire, R-Chattanooga, who sponsored the Senate bill and passed it overwhelmingly last year, said, "I'm hoping they bring it out. Let's have a vote one way or the other."
Earlier this year, Gardenhire said he was concerned the House bill could face more problems due to anti-immigrant sentiment stirred up by GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

I also wonder if the tax revenue from the illegal immigrants in Tennessee is enough to subsidize their in-state tuition rates. If not then Tennesseeans (I’m one) are subsidizing the illegals.
They are not "Undocumented Immigrants", they are ILLEGAL ALIENS! "Undocumented" makes it sound like they're here because of a clerical error. We have to stop letting the left control the language of the debate.

Probably the worse of these new PC terms is “safe space”, as in: You can’t discuss conservative issues at my college as that woud violate my safe space.

I have two kids at Purdue paying $40K each every year out-of-state tuition. I really don’t know how any state could pass this without just allowing all students to be in-state.
You can’t get much more out-of-state than being from another country.

I was outspoken 10 years ago when I worked in a graphics dept at investment bank that had 2 conservatives (me and one boss, thank goodness) and the rest flaming liberals.

I’d rally their ass up in a bus headed for Mexico.
The problem is that the delicate snowflakes wouldn't accuse you directly of violating their "safe space". They'd instead go to the college administration or the student governing body and complain.
The higher-ups would of course side with the delicate snowflakes.
This sort of thing was rare 20 years ago, but it's becoming more common. If a democrat wins in November, I fear this will become irreversible.

Correction: they are not “undocumented immigrants,” as the correct meaning of “immigrants” is that he/she is legally in the US and usually has a Green Card saying so. All our immigrant forefathers were immigrants because they were entered into the country according to whatever the laws of the day happened to be. It should be offensive to every descendent of an immigrant that these illegals are called “immigrant.”
These protestors are what they are - “illegal aliens.”
