Path to certain failure: NeverTrump + NeverCruz = NeverWin = LostSCOTUS = LostFreedom = LostNation

Posted on 04/13/2016 2:36:02 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Captain obvious here again, but NeverTrump/NeverCruz is not the way. We all have our favorites, but don't lose sight of the mission.

The mission on FR is to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our POSTERITY!!

It's a lot bigger than you or me or our personal opinions or egos. It's about the very survival of our nation and the promise of freedom for future generations.

Reagan said that freedom is never more than one generation from extinction and he was 100% correct.

President Clinton or President Sanders means the end of freedom in America.

Do not let freedom expire on our watch!!

Free Republic will support our Republican nominee whoever he is against the godless Marxist/socialist Democrats in November!!

You are the one who is delusional!

The general isn't the same as the primaries; a GOP candidate needs cross over votes to beat any Dem and the usual fraud.

Trump has brought in MANY disaffected Dems, blacks, blue collar workers, and many others, NONE of whom will vote for Ted; NOT A SINGLE ONE OF 'EM! Some Trump supporters will vote for Cruz...maybe, but many MORE won't, if some strange game is pulled and he winds up the nominee....which he won't; so all of this is moot.

Here is a little denial of reality for you. You do realize after the first convention vote most of the delegates become unbound and can vote how they want to. Meaning even if they say they will vote for Cruz now after the first vote, what makes you think they will? At the point they become unbound, they can keep changing their mind on who to vote for right up until they vote.

So whose delegates are they after the first round?

Outside of the fact that I believe that you are giving Ted far too many delegates, by July, the rest of your post is spot on...with one caveat; Trump is probably going to have at least the 1237 delegates. Should my count for Trump; be somewhat off, the total will be closer to the 1237 than you’ve guessed. :-)

.
You are simply repeating what I posted to you.

As for the second ballot and subsequent ballots, the great majority of present selected delegates voluntarily and enthusiastically cling to Cruz.

Cruz has pulled the convention out from under the GOP PooBahs using their own rules.

And I’m sure you don’t get it.

When you say GOP Poo-Bahs, you mean the people that vote right?

NY’s Herb London Says Back Cruz, Not Trump

One of New York State’s most influential conservatives, Herb London, is urging conservative Republicans across the Empire State to vote for Ted Cruz in Tuesday’s upcoming primary election.

“Donald Trump is the extension of a reality show and not a conservative,” London, who heads the New York-based London Center for Policy Research, told Newsmax.

Ted Cruz is “a genuine conservative who embraces and understands the conservative philosophy,” he said.

I have never used the term Cruz-bot, nor have I ever said anything one way or the other about NewsMax so have no idea why you posted that to me.

Cruz was actually in control before Wisconsin as you know, but it was there Trump saw reality and the next day met with "fixer" Paul Manafort .

What sort of guarantee does Cruz have that they will stick with him? There is no rule that says they must or even should. There is no contract, at the point they are declared unbound they really are unbound. Cruz might think, or hope, or feel he has them...but no one will know WHO has them until they vote.

True, all polls except one FOX poll shows Ted crashing against Hillary.
Trump has what it takes to take Hillary down.
