Does Donald Trump think he's going to lose the nomination at the convention? Are his current complaints about RNC "dirty tricks," the system being "rigged," etc. a preview of the explanation he'll be offering when he does indeed lose? Yes, and yes, if you buy what former senior Cruz aide Rick Tyler said on today's Morning Joe.
After the show rolled video of Trump's attacks on the RNC, Joe Scarborough said that the Donald had hit the "sweet spot." Scarborough again made the case for Trump, saying "no, that's the speech of somebody that can win 49 states and would be enraged he lost the 50th." But Tyler pushed back, saying "that's not the speech of a winner. That's the speech of someone who believes he's losing . . . He actually believes now he's going to lose this nomination at the convention on the second ballot."

A Trump/Cruz 2016 ticket is the best of all options
You are correct why Donald Trump will not run third party.
They recognize that a conservative, even one who has repeatedly ticked them off, is infinitely preferable to a lunatic.
As for your demagoguery and puerile insults, it is not surprising that you are a Trump supporter. They follow their leader and emulate his behavior.
“Mark Levin is a paid-for, Cruz hack.”
And Trump is Hillary’s bitch! He’ll be dancing with her at her inaugural ball!
If he believed that, Trump would probably cut a deal with Rubio or Kasich, or even Cruz if necessary to get him across the line.
Front runner status gives him a lot of aces and a lot of options. There is no reason to fold.
The ‘principle’ of which you speak can be carried to extreme. The farthest extreme being no one votes in a national election for President - let the entrenched elected ‘representatives’ make the choice.
I can understand a system of representative government that speeds up things by pre-qualifying (so to speak) representatives who can make choices for us because of poor information flow, speeding the transfer of information along, etc. much earlier in our country, because that at least provided some integrity of region interests. I think that’s why the Electoral College was created.
I am not however in favor of a national popular vote decision purely because there are less than 2 dozen counties, cities and metropolitan areas that would decide everything for us. That’s why I’m still in favor of the Electoral College, protecting regional interests.
For the 17th amendment? The potential is still there for a few cloistered regional areas to dominate, but it includes all the voters in that state. Additionally, the overall regional interests of the state are still maintained (i.e., people from other states aren’t allowed to vote.)
To me, the worst sort of human you can be is a professional politician, and this country’s hierarchy has become infested with these roaches. Insiders, wonks, hacks, journalists, lobbyists, PACs, non-profits and backroom deal makers. They will lie, steal, cheat and then piss on your leg and tell you it’s rain.
When one is into charismatic religion to include praying in tongues and dominionism, plus one does not reply “no” to “he’s the anointed one hype- he lost me.
Thank goodness we survived those eight years of the Al Gore presidency!
Unless trump hits the magic number, which will not happen, he cannot lose that which has not been won.
RNC Bombshell......New *Magic* Number......
RNC member: Trump can win with 1,100 delegates
He is just right as he solves problems as opposed to lying to us how he voted on fast track.
Look in the mirror. You’re projecting again.
Once Trump is disposed of, the GOPe will kneecap Cruz so fast you won’t even see it happen. Kasich/Rubio will simply magically appear.
> Many thought Hillary and Donald made a DEAL
I thought they did as well. And maybe they did. But at some point the deal was off when Trump dropped several very ugly truth bombs about her.
Now, I’m wondering if the GOPe and Hillary made a deal. It sure looks like it.
Other than just WMGing, how does a former Cruz aide know anything about Trump’s mindset?
He’ll get the delegates, but he won’t get the nomination.
Neither will Cruz.
The pols will keep shifting the rules until it’s Kasich vs. Hillary, and Karl Marx will be the winner.
Keep splitting hairs, my FRiend, and watch us get four more years of obama/Hillary.
April 26th cant get here fast enough. That’ll shut up the Cruzaders.
sadly you could have continued that for another hundred pages
Why would people who see Trump as a white horse riding alpha male turn around and nominate a scold like Kasich? Go from bombastic to soul crushed boring? Kasich’s top floor is governor of the ultimate Swing State, or maybe straight man vice president on the Donald Trump Show. God help us if America’s version of La Piña is nominated or elected president.
“Why would people who see Trump as a white horse riding alpha male turn around and nominate a scold like Kasich? “
Because of the delegate count. If Trump turns up 100 delegates short and can get the nomination by making a deal with Kasich then Kasich will be on the ticket
I didn’t say I’d like it
Could not have said it any better! Some may like the nasty “Liar Ted, he lies all the time, he lies, and lies and lies holding up his Bible and lies”. Crazy stuff Trump spouts. Calling the Cruz camp the “Gestapo” and having his good friend who runs the National Enquirer plant a phony nasty story, while going after his wife and her looks.
That kind of campaign sounds like Clintonista on Steriods. I hope he loses, I hope he whines and loses big!
There is only one conservative in the Republican race left. That is Ted Cruz. The rest are not.
As I have stated numerous times on this forum: After this election, it has become clear that both parties are corrupt to the very core.
