Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly says six state leaders are ousting her from the Eagle Forum organization she founded because of her support of Donald Trump, and five of them support Sen. Ted Cruz.
Schlafly released a statement Monday claiming the group is trying to take over the organization by controlling bank accounts, firing employees and hiring their own.
“I think it’s an attempt to vote me out,” Schlafly told the conservative World Net Daily. “It’s disloyal, and it’s terribly shocking, and I’m completely depressed about it.”
Among those Schlafly called out by name Monday was Cathie Adams, who served as Texas Eagle Forum president for the last 23 years.

Ted does not outright explicitly espouse it and we should not pretend he did. However it wasn’t a very smart thing for a father to try to teach a son. There are lessons that get taught the indirect way.
I’ve learned the hard way that being Christian does not mean having an automatic spiritual Midas touch. Some stuff that was lead when we touched it, stays lead after we touch it.
There is a disturbing pattern going on which makes “Cruzlim” or “Tediban” appropriate titles.

Phyllis and Pat have ALWAYS been conservative. Before it was cool to be conservative. Especially now with an out-of-control Big Government GOP trying to crush American patriots into submission.

Cruz’s approach to politics is inseparable from this theology. His goal is to lead a Christian occupation of the culture and then wait for the Second Coming of Christ.

Cruzlims are weak before the strong and strong before the weak. They pick on the elderly because they know it is easy pickings. Then they slink into the tall weeds when they face Trump. Trump has figured out this delegate game and is already winning. The next 5 states crushes Cruz and makes him into left over damaged goods.

This is a special case of the church-state muddle that pretty much defined larger America (and Europe before it) for a long long time.
The more I regard it, the less I like it. It dumbs down the church and whitewashes the state. It is better than a world with no faith at all in it, but if we wonder why we can’t seem to find a situation that looks like the energy of the first century church, this compromise with Caesar might be a very good reason for it.

And now she is supporting someone who won't push back against gay marriage; won't even defund Planned Parenthood; and does not have a history of serious Constitutional concerns and proposed remedies for same.
I think these are some of the reasons Schlafly is being put out to pasture. She's just not conservative enough anymore.
I submit that Schlafly's fall from conservatives' grace is not a proper reason to call Cruz supporters sickening. I personally believe that Cruz supporters are a lot more concerned about the country than just the ISIS and immigration issues (Schlafly's most often expressed concerns)--both of which issues Cruz would handle well.
My point here is that Trump's conservative creds are pretty thin.
