YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS! CRUZ SUPPORTERS ATTEMPT COUP AT EAGLE FORUM!
Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972 when she led the fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment.
Phyllis Schlafly is 91 years-old.
On March 11, 2016 conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for President at his St. Louis rally.
But not everyone in her organization, Eagle Forum or her family agreed with Phyllis Schlaflys decision.
Last week Phyllis Schlafly released several board members for disloyalty to the organization. The group was planning to hold rogue board meeting to take over the Eagle Forum.
Today the rogue Cruz supporters attempted a coup.
They held a non-sanctioned meeting and blocked Phyllis Schlafly from their conference call.
This email was sent out Monday afternoon.
St. Louis, Missouri:
At 2pm today, 6 directors of Eagle Forum met in an improper, unprecedented telephone meeting. I objected to the meeting and at 2:11pm, I was muted from the call. The meeting was invalid under the Bylaws but the attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me. They are attempting to seize access to our bank accounts, to terminate employees, and to install members of their own Gang of 6 to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.
The members of their group are: Eunie Smith of Alabama, Anne Cori of Missouri, Cathie Adams of Texas, Rosina Kovar of Colorado, Shirley Curry of Tennessee, and Carolyn McLarty of Oklahoma.
This kind of conduct will not stand and I will fight for Eagle Forum and I ask all men and women of good will to join me in this fight.
This is a developing story-
Don’t look now, but I think you might have some Cruz stuck to your shoe... :)
Thank you for one of the few useful posts on this thread.
;)
“Trump actually fits this model more than any other candidate running for the office of president.”
I disagree. Trump won’t accept responsibility for his mistakes. He is the epitome of a narcissistic spoiled brat raised with a gold spoon.
“Christ said ‘judge not lest you be judged’.”
So you think God said we shouldn’t evaluate our elected leaders and judge whether they would make good ones?
The article I quoted in full is here:

Where you are getting your account and interpretation from is something you have not revealed.
The first article was a press release from the forum according to Slyfox who posted it. If either of you have first-hand information, please supply same and be responsible for it. But just claiming that others don’t understand is pointless.
It is almost, but not quite, as pointless as the clown-car activity of 90% of the posts on the thread. I do acknowledge that you are making your comments about the article’s issues and not arguing candidates or name calling — stand up and bow be cause you are almost alone.
Slyfox should comment to help us all out.
Would you mind commenting on the situation in light of post 269? That post seems to have more facts than anything else on this thread, and you seem to have a better grasp of what is legal/possible.
I know this. I'd be choking on my words.
The words “could be” worry me. I’d be interested in your thoughts on post 269.
This is what megachurches do to the old, long-time congregants: under the rubric of God, they get the very elderly to sign over their wealth to the church. Deacons go to meet the elderly person, alone, preacher puts the “word of the Lord” on the outnumbered and intimidated elderly person. This is SO CRUZ!! I’ve seen this happen many times in one megachurch.
There is, but many non profits do not use the boiler plate standard when incorporating.
It also varies widely from state to state.
I know the general sequence of events, and recognize the names of the more prominent players, and I am entirely sympathetic with Phyllis's side of this war.
But I am not sure that the board meeting and resulting action (firing of Ed Martin) were in fact illegal.
Brief timeline, the way I see it. I am not claiming these items have any sort of cause and effect relationship:
Based on other news reports, unrelated to the recent unpleasantness, I find the excuses and reasons given by the takeover defenders to be deliberately misleading. In addition to news reports that appear to show alignment between Phyllis and Ed Martin, I have fielded several direct, false assertions made by posters on this forum, with no evidence to back up the assertion. For example, Slyfox asserts that Ed Martin is posting on Phyllis Schlafley's Facebook page.
All that said, it is possible that the coup was undertaken legally. That sort of thing happens. See National review, see Mark Levin, and so on and so forth.
Maybe it isnt the conservative movement that needs destroying son.
It might be that there are those who claim to be conservatives that need destroying-like the Elites ruling you and me.
Cruz isnt conservative, neither is Trump, or Rubio, or Kasich, or any of them.
So, the choice is left to select the one with the best experience to get the EFFN GD COUNTRY OUT OF THE HOLE ECONOMICALLY!
You can vote for the one who has no experience in economics at all, and I will vote for the elder who has built a business.
I heard they tried a similar stunt here on this forum as well, a concerted effort to hold the fund raising hostage unless JimRob got on board with a ‘dump Trump’ movement.
Not all Cruz supporters are so hard core, but they do have a fanatical base.
Phyllis Schlafly was once a conservative hero.
But her decision to endorse an opportunistic, narcissistic whiner like Trump shows that she has grown dotty.
The Eagle Forum board is right in trying to get the train back on track.
Trump is a losing, incompetent loser, and a bad one at that.
Did they really? I was not aware of this! You can hear hints of it in some of these threads, with Cruzers claiming that without them, the "Trump supporters" won't donate enough money to keep the website going.
This is what the cruzers here on fr are going to find out -to their detriment.
The behavior is amplified by the anonymity of the Internet. All of these tough guys (on all sides) wouldn't dare think of using the same poor language and ad hominem attacks in public.
