Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972 when she led the fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment.
Phyllis Schlafly is 91 years-old.
On March 11, 2016 conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for President at his St. Louis rally.
But not everyone in her organization, Eagle Forum – or her family – agreed with Phyllis Schlafly’s decision.
Last week Phyllis Schlafly released several board members for disloyalty to the organization. The group was planning to hold rogue board meeting to take over the Eagle Forum.
Today the rogue Cruz supporters attempted a coup.
They held a non-sanctioned meeting and blocked Phyllis Schlafly from their conference call.
This email was sent out Monday afternoon.
St. Louis, Missouri:
“At 2pm today, 6 directors of Eagle Forum met in an improper, unprecedented telephone meeting. I objected to the meeting and at 2:11pm, I was muted from the call. The meeting was invalid under the Bylaws but the attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me. They are attempting to seize access to our bank accounts, to terminate employees, and to install members of their own Gang of 6 to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.
“The members of their group are: Eunie Smith of Alabama, Anne Cori of Missouri, Cathie Adams of Texas, Rosina Kovar of Colorado, Shirley Curry of Tennessee, and Carolyn McLarty of Oklahoma.
“This kind of conduct will not stand and I will fight for Eagle Forum and I ask all men and women of good will to join me in this fight.”

Mountain out of a molehill?? Okay, anything to rationalize what’s happening. This poor lady although 91 seems to have control of her wits, her health and her group that she formed. This is a stab in the back to her by some very unscrupulous people all for the sake of Ted Cruz. And not to feel a modicum of anger is making a mountain out of a molehill?
The nomination is more important than winning the actual election.
The bridges have been so burned that the idea they will get 66% of Trump supporters to vote for Cruz or another GOPe putz is pure delusion.
Cruz will never get any crossovers, so he has no chance to win.
The divorce is in process and the finalization is pending.
Ann Cori is Phyllis’ own daughter! Which makes this situation very tragic and sad given her long, long history as a conservative force and one of Ronald Reagan’s close friends.

I’m heavily involved in a non-profit in Canada, where the rules may be different.
The article states that Schlafly herself removed several members from the board the previous week. At least in Canada, this isn’t how board members are removed. While I’ve not read all of the posts, I’ve read a substantial number, and am struck that no one has picked up on this point. If Schlafly undertook a purge on her own initiative that was rogue, pushback might be expected. In your experience, can a founder dismiss members of the board on his own initiative?
Up here there are provisions for what must be done to convene without the president convening, and convening without the president. I can’t imagine not having such provisions since the incapacitation of the president (death or a coma) would decapitate the organization.
E-mail and teleconferencing has certainly changed things in Canada, and I imagine may be changing things down there, about what is necessary for notice of motion and what constitutes “place.”

Yes, if Cruz wins, the party and the movement will be purged. Those who have Trumpian/Nationalistic views on immigration and free trade, or ever even once said something positive about Trump, will have their careers destroyed.
To be precise, the article quotes the release stating that the meeting was invalid under the bylaws. The release did not cite the relevant bylaws, so it does not actually give knowledge.
The article also states that Schlafly on her own initiative had removed members from the Board. Is this valid according to the Bylaws?
