Donald Trump is right: The system is rigged. Its rigged in favor of front-runners. Thats why Trump, who is leading the Republican nominating contest, has a larger percentage of delegates (46 percent) than of votes (37 percent). Unsurprisingly, Trump never mentions when the rules have helped him. He much prefers to whine and peddle conspiracy theories when they dont.
Trumps latest tantrum is over Colorado, where Ted Cruz just swept all 34 of the states available delegates. Trump is calling the results totally unfair and on Twitter he asked: How is it possible that the people of the great State of Colorado never got to vote in the Republican Primary? If Trump is so concerned about states not holding primaries, perhaps he should renounce his victory at Nevadas caucuses.
Colorado is one of ten states and four territories that opted for caucuses or state conventions over primaries. That does not make it undemocratic. In fact, on March 1, in community centers, gymnasiums, and churches across the state, 60,000 Colorado Republicans attended 2,917 precinct caucuses to elect delegates to the county assemblies and congressional-district conventions that convened during the following weeks. The district conventions send 21 delegates to Cleveland; and at this weekends state convention, more than 600 people chosen by the county assemblies competed to be one of Colorados 13 statewide delegates. Nothing was stolen. This is how Colorados delegate-selection process works.

OK Cruz take your delegates and go away.
Tomorrow night the beginning of the end of Cruz begins.
Posted this earlier:
For fun I did some number crunching.
I took the delegates gained by trump and Cruz in winner take all and winner take most states and divied them out proportionalply based on % of vote.
The effect is dramatic.
Trump -128
Cruz +56
Trump leads Cruz 615 to 601 with 386 delegates going elsewhere.
With those counts, neither one can reach 1237 by proportional delegate counts and it should go to a contested convention.
The States each have their own system. That has nothing to do with Cruz- he was just smarter and better prepared than Trump. Cruz has always been known for having a great ground game and it payed off in Colorado.
Trump did NOT tick off the overwhelming majority of Florida voters.... But it is Cruz’s face that will be reviled over GOP rules in Colorado. Wisdom is not a Cruz strength.
Can't let those pesky grassroots voters actually choose a candidate!
Obedience to rules does not equal being morally right.
Cruz’s victory is morally wrong and totalitarian as well.
You seem happy that the will of the voters was thrown out just because you hate Trump THAT much.
Maybe they are the same ppl who post these nonsense trolling threads every day and night at FR...!
Tonight for the first time in weeks, it looks like someone else is on-duty and taking the lead in putting up one anti-Trump thread after another.
I’m not sure sometimes if their agenda is to just get attention and disrupt FR by being annoying, or if they actually believe they’re “making a difference” & “affecting the outcome” of stuff. Srsly.
Cruz did not set up the Colorado process- he just managed it better than Trump.
Just wait for PA.
Look up the rules.
While you are at it, which other states have a process like CO?
Well said.
I’ve never heard about Cruz’s great ground game until the past week when his staff started making the claim that he’s always had a great ground game.
Rinse. Repeat.
I don’t hate Trump. If he gets 1237, he wins the nomination. I think Cruz is a better candidate and does not call names or insult everyone who disagrees with him. I do not like Trump’s temperament and think he has not prepared as well as Cruz.
Being a sore loser is certainly something NR knows something about this primary season. We should be patient with their need to project it.
If you only heard about Cruz’s great ground game this week you haven’t been paying attention. It was well known how well organized and prepared he was last fall.
Wow, that needs its own thread!
Uh-huh.
It still doesn’t change the fact that you seem to be cheering for totalitarian bypassing of the voters.
I thought that we were a republic, not an oligarchy.
We are a republic and each State designs it’s process. If the people of Colorado are unhappy with this then they have to work to change it. If Trump had been organized and won the delegates, I doubt you would complain.
Yep, a month ago Cruz said the only way to beat Trump was with the voters.
Loser? This sore loser won EVERY state in the South. He has won the rust belt states of IL and MI and set to crush in PA. He has almost swept the whole Northeast, and is about the crush in NY and NJ. He has won the West with NV and AZ. He is set to win in MD and DE.
President Coolidge once said the business of America is business. Who better to be President than a titan of industry endorsed by other billionaire titans of industry who have worked with him (even fought against him) for decades (i.e., know him very well), e.g., Carl Icahn, Andrew Beal, Steve Wynn, Elie Hirschfeld, Robert Kraft, Phil Ruffin, Mark Cuban, et al.
