I’ve been watching the Dem side. My best estimate is they’ll give it to Hillary. I base this on two things: 1. Hillary is still the frontrunner in the bound delegate count. Bernie could catch up but it’ll be close, much closer than on the Rep side, and 2. every time Bernie takes a rhetorical swipe at Hillary, she gasps and clutches her pearls and he backs off. Every time. That tells me that when push comes to shove, the Bern will go away quietly. I don’t think Trump will.
As for the polls, they show that 33% of Trump’s voters will stay home if he’s not the nominee, while 25% of Sander’s voters will do the same. Bottom line: even if both parties have contested conventions, the Rep will emerge much weaker than the Dem.
Hardly.
The Dems are wrastling with nominating a socialist or a socialist who is concealing that fact.
They will rally around their nominee in the end.
And unless we want a socialist in the White House for 4 more years, we have to rally around our nominee in November as well.
Cruz winning all Colorado delegates made that pretty clear.
Which is exactly what the eGOP wants. IF they cant win then no one wins. They are petulant children.
Nope. They prefer Cruz kamikaze himself, take out Trump and destroy his own career in the process. He’s doing a great job on half of that so far.
You still have your voice, you just don't get your way. That is what politics and government are, at bottom. You need to be allowed to vent or else you'd go postal.
I'm not defending the kicking out of delegates or participants in the delegate selection process. My point is that I'd rather have the party openly advocate reject Trump, than pretend otherwise. And I see the #NeverTrump tweet as nothing more than an expression of that preference. parties, like people, are free to say what they want. And parties, like people, don't always get their way.
Cruz told the Colorado crowd earlier that its easy to talk about making America great again you can even print that on a baseball cap but that the more important question is which candidate understands the principles and values that made America great in the first place.
Does that mean getting in bed with and wildly fornicating and fluffing every establishment elitist he can get close to?
Wow he makes me sick. To think I bought his book “A Time For Truth”. I actually believed he was “the only principled candidate in the race”. He proved how stupid I was to believe him. Six months ago no one would have believed Cruz would be where he is right now - in bed with the GOP elite.
I’d like a refund on the book.
There is no such thing as justice. But I do agree that Trump and his supporters will adjust to reality.
If the rules allow for making complaints, by all means, if there is basis for the complaint, make it! Fight like hell!!
I despise the RNC and GOP, I did when it refused to even discuss whether dual citizenship was a factor (Obama), and now even more when it openly advocates subverting the constitution. I understand them doing so, public memory is short, and the last time this was brought up in Congress was about a generation or two ago.
I also despise the DEM party, but the state this country is in is beyond a partisan issue, unless one adopts the view that it was partisan teamwork that got us here.
Have to admit I think you’re right as far as you go, but I know that Bernie’s supporters are really into the election... even to the point of trying to shut down Trump’s rallies. And I also have a feeling the DNC dislikes Bernie (maybe) to the same extent the RNC dislikes Trump. If Hill wins it with super delegates, and coin flips, can’t think Bernie’s base will take it laying down.
Quit equivocating. It’s indefensible.
Cruz is proving to be just as corrupt as Hillary. The only difference is the years of experience.
Trump is tRumphurt.
And unless we want a socialist in the White House for 4 more years, we have to rally around our nominee in November as well.
****
Here I thought we were on the same page Plewis1250, guess we wasn’t. If Trump’s the nominee he’ll be happy for your vote. :)
I believe he was exactly what you said 1 year ago. 2 years ago, I found out he was born in Canada to a Cuban father and an American Born Canadian citizen. I was disappointed to find that out because I wanted him to be President.
I find it very angering that obama got away with with his bullcrap birth story that we never were able to prove. The last thing I ever wanted was to have the Republican candidate being worse as far as proving that part qualifications. We at least known that Obama was born to an American mother. We aren’t entirely sure who the real father is and where he was actually born.
I also thought Cruz was a principled Christian and the most conservative member of the Senate. The way he has conducted his campaign, I do not find “Christian.”
As far as being so leader of sorts, I find him very uninspiring. That in my opinion is the most important aspect of being a President. But what is my opinion worth?
I remember 4 years ago, all of the Radio charlatans (Rush, Hannity) begged us to get behind Romeny very early in the primaries, so that Romney does not become a “damaged” candidate, but where is the same idea this time? Instead of getting behind the clear front runner, the GOP is promising a contested convention. I hope that convention is the last that they ever have.
Comes from "Colorado Republicans for Liberty." That outfit is as much the Colorado GOP, as the Federal Reserve is part of the Federal government.
The proposed resolution was drafted by one Robert Zubrin, see Blog: Colorado GOP resolution: No voting for Trump

Oh by the way, about Cruz fornicating with the elitist, you are spot on.
Another thing, I believe the mistress story as well. There is evidence, albeit not tremendously solid, but where there is smoke there is fire. His Christian hypocrisy is quite scary. I would rather vote for a person who lived a morally corrupt life, and was open and honest about it, and seems to have left that life behind.
Justice comes in many forms and it IS real, despite what you think. One would think that ACTUAL voting is ‘fighting like hell’. But it apparently isn’t given the ins and outs of the collective nomination process.
Regardless, there has already been a registration of what will happen in the Reuters/IPSOS poll that says 1/3 of the Trump supports won’t go for the nominee if that happens.
Judging by the actual vote numbers and the bigger than normal turnouts, THAT will be enough to deny the GOP nominee a win. In essence the GOP nomination debacle with ensure their defeat, which I’m certain they’ll be perfectly happy with based on the last two elections.
What you fail to realize is that we, they, US who support Trump HAVE ALREADY OPENLY ADVOCATED by voting in the primaries in the first. When you keep moving the bar for more BS hurdles, you lose. Do this by GOP’s Roberts Rules of Order shenanigans that bears no resemblance to actual votes and you’re begging for an electoral catastrophe. Take that to the bank.
I’m not equivocating, and I’m not saying I like what the Colorado GOP minions are doing. My only point is that they have every right to tell us what they think, and what they think is #NeverTrump. I’d rather they tell us than hide it, to be honest.
You likely are.
However, it’s a non issue.
Trump won’t be the nominee.
