The St. Louis County Republican Caucus was held today at the Missouri River Township Caucus at the Westminster Christian Academy near highways 40 and 270 this afternoon.
Lloyd Sloan was at the conference today.
Here is his firsthand account:
There were two slates that were voted on today at the convention. One was called Cruz and the other Trump. So there was no confusion there. The vote took place by a public count. Its when there is a standing vote and everybody is counted off. It is pretty above board. The vote was tied, 27-27. But a few people in the center of the room did not vote. One guy got up and voted for Trump. So Trump won the standing vote.
I proposed a motion to combine the two slates. The chair chose to ignore my motion. It was seconded but the chair, Mark Dunn, decided to ignore the motion.
At that point the chair entertained a motion to do a secret ballot because he was a Cruzer and the wrong guy won. The motion was presented by the head of the Cruz delegation who put together and submitted the Cruz slate. It was seconded and voted on.
And, surprise! Cruz won the secret ballot!
At that point I led a small group of Trump people from the room, saying, You wanted a divided party. You got one.
The delegates plan to contest the results. We are collecting evidence to show what exactly happened.
I saw what I saw. I walked out. It was highly irregular.
Ted Cruz lost Missouri to Donald Trump.

This is community organizer Obama lefty baloney. Strong principled conservative Cruzlims is an oxymoron. Trump was saving the GOP from its idiotic selves with real electoral victories. Instead the stupid party is committing hari Kari.
The only odd men out will be Cruz and his supporters.
Trump and Kasich will team up and Cruz will be back in the senate
real soon.
I am perpetually amused to find Trumpites so dismally ignorant of how this process actually work. Kasich can’t order his delegates to vote for Trump. It’s not that simple.
We have one person's testimony. And that person is clearly partisan. Is it an accurate and truthful portrayal of events? I don't know...and neither do you.
Further, what impact does the alleged action have on anything? It's not clear at all what the stakes were. And why did the reporter call for "consolidating the slates"? What precisely does that mean?
Too many questions to make a judgment.
It is amazing how Cruzbots think that if Lying Ted and his corruption gets him the nomination, that Ted would have any chance to win in November.
It isn’t going to happen. I have to wonder if Ted isn’t secretly supporting Hillary Clinton.
Get a clue. Buy one. Watch the film. Read the article. See the accounts of the event.
Then you can come to the big table and peep for Cartel Cruz and his anything goes for power.
So MILLIONS of more voters from across the nation voted for Trump over Cruz and you think people will get on board Cruz's shady attempts to get delegates? Never before has someone who got millions of less ACTUAL votes in the primary been so brazen about getting delegates in such a shady way. Who cares if Cruz connives his way to get more delegates on the 2nd vote at the convention. He has lost to Trump by MILLIONS of actual votes. No one will support Cruz trying to connive his was into the nomination because he will come of as a slick lawyer who tried to find loopholes in an effort to win delegates. Meanwhile, NO other candidate in any election previous to Cruz, EVER went after delegates when they were obviously not the most popular candidate.
“Cruz and Cruzbots: total amorality.”
It’s always the ones that smugly claim to hold the moral high ground that turn out to be the most disgusting.
Raf the Weasel King reigns supreme
Was it Marco who said: "Maybe he should sue whoever did that to his face..."?
I think that's the most likely outcome. If Trump doesn't get the 1237 delegates, then neither Cruz nor Trump will be the nominee. Given the sudden GOPe backing Cruz has received, they're likely smiling to his face while planning on stabbing him in the back at the RNC (either that or he's really made a deal with the devil). Cue the "white knight" candidate (seems like Paul Ryan at this moment).
It is not evil to play by the rules. It is evil to bear false witness by whining a false charge of “cheater” when no one cheated or to say they “stole” something that was not stolen. It is all the legitimate process according to the rules set by Colorado.
I wonder if Hoft @TrumpwayPundit showed up to help Trump get delegates or just complained online
He did pinhead. He competed for public votes, and is way ahead.
When Cruz is sent packing back to the senate, he will be more hated
than before.
Can’t wait to see what’s left of his deminished career back in the senate.
A phony secret ballot is the rules? C’mon you can’t keep a straight face man.
You compare Cruz’s methods to LBJ’s as if that is a criticism. If Cruz is as effective as LBJ, he will be the most important conservative in the history of this nation since Alexander Hamilton
LBJ was the President of the United States who (probably) achieved more of his agenda than any other President before or since. He wanted civil rights, got it, and no one’s laid a hand on it for 50 years. He wanted Medicare — ditto. He appointed judges who have created an unbreakable trend to judicial imposition of whatever the liberal stance of the day may be. He wanted the welfare state — got it, lasted 30 years, and has done another 20 with minor changes. He wanted the war in Vietnam, got it, and despite it’s supposed unpopularity managed to have the 1968 election be fought among three pro-war candidates (Nixon, Humphrey and Wallace). That Nixon would win and then choose to forfeit the war was something Johnson couldn’t do anything about.
Exactly. And the argument “Trump should have know the sleazy depths that Cruz would sink” doesn’t hold water.
My hubby won’t vote for him that’s for sure. Hubby voted Bush, twice. Regrets having wasted his time with both of those now. Voted Mccain. Voted Romney. Will not vote for Cruzbush under any circumstances.
Plus the Cruz voters like my mother who is appalled by this and subsequent behavior and won’t vote for him now either. She’s finally come to realize that only the peasants lose when a dim wins. Pubbie elites win regardless. Mom won’t be wasting her gas to drive to vote if the nominee is Cruz or some convention selected candidate.
Cruz will get shelacked in the general.
