The St. Louis County Republican Caucus was held today at the Missouri River Township Caucus at the Westminster Christian Academy near highways 40 and 270 this afternoon.
Lloyd Sloan was at the conference today.
Here is his firsthand account:
There were two slates that were voted on today at the convention. One was called Cruz and the other Trump. So there was no confusion there. The vote took place by a public count. Its when there is a standing vote and everybody is counted off. It is pretty above board. The vote was tied, 27-27. But a few people in the center of the room did not vote. One guy got up and voted for Trump. So Trump won the standing vote.
I proposed a motion to combine the two slates. The chair chose to ignore my motion. It was seconded but the chair, Mark Dunn, decided to ignore the motion.
At that point the chair entertained a motion to do a secret ballot because he was a Cruzer and the wrong guy won. The motion was presented by the head of the Cruz delegation who put together and submitted the Cruz slate. It was seconded and voted on.
And, surprise! Cruz won the secret ballot!
At that point I led a small group of Trump people from the room, saying, You wanted a divided party. You got one.
The delegates plan to contest the results. We are collecting evidence to show what exactly happened.
I saw what I saw. I walked out. It was highly irregular.
Ted Cruz lost Missouri to Donald Trump.

Nice try.
No, Ted has it locked up. He’s the one losing and he’s trying to pull Al Gore tactics. And guess who Ted went to school on? Al Gore in Florida.
Nice try, but the Trump angle just doesn’t play.
Trump is winning.
LOLOL!!
Juvenile names?
You mean like your reference to the “Cheeto Puff man”?
LOL!!
Hang it up with the pointy finger business. You defy your own sermons, and it is causing some private grins around here. Are you out of high school in May, or being held over, maybe?
It has definitely been a brutal primary.
I think it’s extra intense this time because people feel like they are at the end of their rope with our government, and then on top of that a section of those people believe that their candidate is the only answer to the problem, and that the other candidate is a continuation of the problem, and vice versa.
I’m not trying to put myself above the fray, because I have been in the fray I’ll admit. But I’m fearing that neither candidate is an actual answer and in the end we are all going to be divided and conquered.
About the St. Charles meeting what exactly do you think the poor quality video says, that shows wrong doing? If you can identify that I will play it again and look for it.
Not buying your smartypants rationale or your nasty little candidate. He lost me completly by his ambulance-chasing slimy ways.
Really, you are condoning the establishment party heads ignoring a motion on the floor? That is stealing and cheating and you’re condoning it! You’re a fine person
Obviously Cruz is deeply dishonest.
You are a liar and a troll. Looking forward to your being removed from the boards permanently.
Do not post to me again.
Get lost.
It's why so few businessmen enter politics, but so many lawyers do so gleefully.
I am glad my caucus had a great day too with lots of support for Cruz. Let Cheeto man whine. Maybe he will sue.
You want everyone that does not support Trump kicked out of Free Republic? lol well sue me
“You loving trumps butt like some of your fellow scruzebots, you sure talk enough about butts to qualify for the log cabin republicans.’
No, actually, I do not
Well, OK, to be absolutely fair, there are the Texans, who showed the same mindless, rabid, content-free enthusiasm for Perry, no matter what he did.
Oddly enough, a couple of Texans on FR have turned against Cruz; it might be because Cruz is a Cuban from Canada, not really a native son.
that’s not especially responsive. your defense of trump being sued for fraud by thousands of people is that cruz would be getting sued, too, if not for some sinister conspiracy.
it’s just a creepy argument.
Because make no mistake, if it's not Trump as the Republican nominee, Republicans lose in earth shattering fashion. Senate gone, too. And the House could be at risk. If they gave it to Cruz (unlikely) it would be only to make him show that conservatives can't win. He'd be a national Todd Akin. And if they give it to a GOPe guy, he would lose worse. Either way, the GOPe is fine with losing, so long as they get rid of Trump, the Tea Party and anyone who threatens the Uniparty.
Where was Trump using illegals and how do you know?
Romney destroyed the Party of Reagan and replaced it with the Party of Flies.
Romney is still the head of the GOP. He hasn’t disappeared. He should step aside but he won’t. He likes the feeling that he owns it.
