Ted Cruz, the man who believes god wants him to be president

SENATOR Ted Cruz may be dubbed the most despised man in Washington but he is certain God wants him to be the next president of the US.

snip

What is disconcerting is the paradox that such a religious person as Cruz can attract such hatred. If you think hatred is a strong word this is what Cruz’s college room-mate says of him: “I would rather have anybody else be the president of the United States. Anyone. I would rather pick somebody from the phone book.”

In case the US did not get the message, Craig Mazin – now a scriptwriter – added: “Ted Cruz will become the thing you need him to be so that he wins an election. No principles, no moral centre, no values. Just ambition.”

snip

Ted GETTY, Trump's senior policy advisor said said Cruz was a Wall Street globalist

The dawning realisation that it could be Cruz prompted Trump’s most senior policy adviser to tell an audience in Wisconsin: “I’m going to tell each and every one of you the real truth about Ted Cruz. He is a radical Wall Street globalist who will rip the beating heart of manufacturing out of the United States of America.”

Strong stuff. Trump weighed in this way: “He’s a nasty guy. Nobody likes him. Nobody in Congress likes him. Nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him.”

snip

When asked which politician they would like to run for president many people who have worked with him closely say anyone but Cruz.

One political strategist who worked with Cruz in George W Bush’s campaign office tweeted that: “If a truth serum was given to the staff of the 2000 Bush [campaign team] an enormous percentage would vote for Trump over Cruz.”

As a Christian I’m feeling ok about judgment day.

Good! Believe it not I am happy about that. Quite frankly I would like a bunch of us up there. Maybe we can have some gatherings at your cloud. That’d be fun.

“Ted is a chip off his dad’s block.”

`Dreams From My Father’ Another `Daddy complex’?
Another parallel for sure.

Did Cruz orchestrate the erroneous communications himself? Did he deny they wrongness of the communications? Did he not immediately apologize for his subordinates actions?

Is there ANY proof the chain of events affected the outcome in any way?

How does this make him a "liar"?

Rhetorical question for anyone else who might be honestly wondering. I know how you feel already.

Seeing the pic of him praying on the street...

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full... --Jesus, form Mathew chapter 6 verse 5.

The article quotes Mazin, a liberal union hack who happened to room with Cruz for a bit, and hates him, Trump campaign hacks, and Trump. I wonder who they are biased toward?

You either live, or hate, your assigned college roommates. Mazin was obviously the latter. He said Cruz should never be elected Senator. Well, He's my senator, and he's done all he said he would do.

“After kneeling in prayer for two hours at a Baptist church in Texas, Cruz’s family wept as his wife Heidi said she had received a message from above that instructed Cruz to run for the White House. According to Cruz’s father, pastor Rafael, the kneeling Ted “looked up and said: ‘Lord, here am I, use me. I surrender to you, whatever you want.’”

If this is true......then I am doubly creeped out. Explains why Ted didn’t want to campaign in the south where he would have had to look us in the eye and try that

they don’t spend hours on their knees praying with others and then have their own wife declare that God has spoken to her.

But the roommate doesn’t really go there...Which given Cruz’s other inconsistencies...concerns me.

You are assuming that he was a lefty straight shooter. He is just as disingenuous as those leftists who try to give Republicans advice on winning elections. They always drag HIM out, never anyone else in student government, or in debate club.

Ted and I were in the same parliamentary debate circuit. Princeton always had a great team, but when I went, the Amherst team was #1, and at the Yale Tournament, my partner and I beat the future senator Chris Coons and his partner.

My teammate was a liberal, and the rest of them covered establishment, radical libertarian, and won't disclose. Just think, an entire rental sedan driving 20 hours straight from Chicago to U of Toronto, or Smith, or Yale, etc. and nothing in common except that we all liked to argue.

I always volunteered to take the 1-4AM driving shift. At a gas stop I picked up a microwave burrito. After that the whole car voted together to ban burritos from the car. My argument was that I was trying to stay awake. If I ever ran for anything, I don't know if I want them interviewed. I told the story to my wife, and she agreed with them.

If God wanted Ted Cruz to be POTUS he would have borned him here with two American parents.

I read that ENTIRE exchange, only to reaffirm that CNN absolutely did NOT say Carson was suspending. Shame on you, for wasting so much of my time.

speaks volumes

I knew debaters like this in high school and college...... thought if they talked long enough and fast enough that they should always win. They would interrupt and twist an argument. When that was pointed out they would stand there and lie saying I never said that.

Fundamentally Ted hits me as being one of those guys... too smart to be useful and a lack of commonsense

Did you read my reply? It was a comment on the title, not on the article.

Yes, I certainly did read your reply...However, the title was neither the focus of the article nor my thread.

As I just posted one teacher anecdotal story, here is another...students love to get the teacher to digress into other areas—distract teacher from the subject...

The title was not meant by me to be the focus of the thread.

Some of Cruz’ lies about Trump are worse than anything I’ve seen even from Dems. It literally turns my stomach.

That one bothered me, but not that much, as it was obvious the Doc wasn’t gonna be in it much longer. The one that really pissed me off was the letter to voters That was really sleazy!
