Ted Cruz said Thursday he will not apologize to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for accusing him of lying last year, despite suggestions from Senate colleagues it would help them unite behind his campaign.

"That ain't gonna happen," Cruz told CNN's Dana Bash in an interview that aired on "Erin Burnett OutFront." "And if the Washington lobbyists want to see that happen, they can hold their breath a long, long time. My focus is on the American people and uniting Republicans behind shared values and a shared vision." Cruz has presented himself as the candidate best poised to unite the Republican Party against Hillary Clinton in November. But he has struggled with his own colleagues in the Senate, winning limited support from Republican senators.

It only took him a week to do it. What a guy!

Your candidate has yet to say it. What a guy.

Do you really not comprehend my point?

Are you denying the Lewandowski RNC and Koch Bros. association?

Get it yet?

Was a Trump email in the Ashley Madison database? No. Cruz’s was.

Were Rubio people promoting a story about Trump infidelity? No. Cruz’s was.

Oh that’s right - Cruz is the fulfillment of prophecy. He’s been anointed! Praise Ted Cruz hallelujah! He couldn’t possibly have been unfaithful.

Cruz is a lying, blaspheming, ineligible, avaricious, globalist.

A McConnell PAC is funding a Cruz PAC.

Get it yet?

“THIS is why a stand with Cruz. He is a man of character. He is the true anti-establishment candidate.”

You would make a good stand up comedian.

Stand for Truth is not a McConnell PAC.

The video I saw wasn’t an NE charge. It was a question from a reporter at a stand up. Do you deny that?

The video I cited in the stand-up re: a reporter’s question, iCarly answering for him, and Cruz standing meekly by during it is fact, and it is not BS.

You can choose to ignore it and get mad that your candidate actually did that, but it doesn’t allow you to change history.

YES, Ted Cruz is truly a man of character. I’ll never forget how he was against subsidies, even for corn, while he was campaigning in Iowa. And he still WON in Iowa!

That's what I mean. Cruz had addressed the NE story. The new question in the video went past the NE story. No candidate is ever asked such a general baseless question.

Most likely Cruz didn't want to dignify such a "do you beat your wife" type of question.

If somebody asked me such a baseless question, I wouldn't even dignify it with an answer.

Cruz “addressed” it by calling it “garbage”. That’s deflection, not denial.

//

Deflection:

Junior, the cookie jar is empty. Your brother Bobby says you ate all the cookies. Did you?

That’s a lie.

Did you eat the cookies?

Bobby’s lying!

Did.you.eat.the.cookies?

Bobby’s a jerk. He’s a liar.

//

Denial:

I did not eat the cookies.

Calling something “complete and utter lies” is both a denial and an accusation, whether you want to think that or not.

You are the one that bent all out of shape about it, not me.

Just because you assign such “importance” to it doesn’t mean most do. I have given you the facts and those are undeniable.

Cruz stated he has been faithful thoughout his marriage and untill I see credible evidence to the contrary, will believe him.

You as a Trumpateer will, I’m sure, take the opposite position.

The reporter tee-d it up for him beautifully, all Cruz had to say was, “Yes, I have always been faithful to my wife” - instead he had a surrogate answer for him. Then when Cruz spoke he deflected and blamed Trump.

Whether you want to think it or not.
