Police in Manchester, Connecticut arrested a husband and wife after an argument at Royal Buffet got out of hand on Saturday night.
Manchester police say they were called to 410 West Middle Turnpike for a dispute that started as an argument over crab legs at the buffet table and escalated into a physical confrontation. During the scuffle, a 21-year-old man was punched in the face and lost a tooth.
That man's mother jumped in and used pepper spray on her son's attackers. Her actions were in self-defense and she is not facing any charges, according to police.
Police arrested Clifford Knight, 45, and Latoya Knight, 38, both of Windsor. Clifford Knight is charged with third-degree assault and disorder conduct. Latoya Knight is charged with disorderly conduct and threatening. Police said the suspects are husband and wife.
Clifford Knight was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and Lataya Knight was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond. They are both expected in court on April 14.
The Manchester Fire Department responded to vent out the restaurant after the pepper spray was deployed.
The restaurant had to close while the health department assessed the air quality, but the restaurant said they opened for business at the usual time Sunday.

I’ve been reading that he’s turning his life around, so we’ll see if he stays on the right path.
so true, so true.
Now. Sort of changing topics. But not really.
Prior to going on a cruise, I thought that THIS is what a cruise would be like.
If anyone is reading this article and thinking, “that’s why I don’t go on cruises...it’s just 7 days of this” ...I just want to say it’s not like that at all. It really isn’t.
Been twice with Carnival, and it was awesome both times. Going again in six weeks or so!!!!
Oops, wrong thread!
I worked on a job where every year buses would be chartered to go to Maryland for a crab fease. I always managed to have a sock drawer to rearrange and never made it to any of the crab feases.
been on a cruise to nowhere.
DYING to go on cruise to Nova Scotia this fall!

In Louisiana, we put the pepper spray directly on the crab legs.
“Crab legs? Come on people.”
If they were Dungeness or Alaska King crab legs, absolutely! But you’ll never see those at a buffet. Too expensive.
Half the country want to kill each other. Lots of people tightly wound. No joke. They divided the once united real good. It’s why I now avoid crowds and the public whenever possible.
Nobody seems to consider anymore that gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins. Not illegal, but a sin nonetheless.
Royal Buffet? Is this where the peasants eat? The name screams, “Avoid this place.
A little pepper spray adds that extra zng to the buffet table offerngs.
Also; never eat at a restaurant with the word “Buffet” in the name...
Bump up to Princess Cruises some time. Owned by the same shipping line just maybe a bit better experience. Unless you are big time into the party scene then yeah Carnival is the way to go......just my 2 cent.
Obama’s kids out fightin’ again!
That pic is kinda creepy on several levels.
“In Louisiana, we put the pepper spray directly on the crab legs.”
I always wondered why Popeye’s tasted better in LA!
We had a similar experience at the Golden Corral several years ago.
There was a line at the buffet waiting for the shrimp to come out. At the front of the line were two rather zaftig females (300-400 lbs each).
As soon as the large tray of shrimp came out, it was immediately added to the plates of the two hefty women. Every single piece. The poor guy directly behind them in line was livid.
You apparently aren't as fast as me or your wife packs a helluva wallop! Dems my crabwegs!
I have a pretty good Chinese Buffet nearby. I have seen fatsos order a Coke and eat nothing but crab’s legs. Nothing!
Many years ago, eight members of my team was doing a job in Indianapolis and one night we hit an all you can eat seafood Buffett. It wasn’t pretty. We told the host, when he put out a tray of seafood, to bring us our own tray because if we got up, no one will get food.
He didn’t listen, at first.
