Donald Trump continued his war with party bosses Sunday, once again saying that he wouldnt rule out a third-party run if he failed to secure the GOP nomination and demanding that rival John Kasich drop out of the race.
Were going to have to see how I was treated. Im going to have to see how I was treated. Very simple, Trump said on Fox News Sunday when asked if he would categorically rule out running as a third-party independent candidate if he failed to win his partys nomination. Its not a question of win or lose. Its a question of treatment. I want to be treated fair.
The comments came just days after Trump, Kasich and Ted Cruz backed out of pledges to support the GOPs eventual nominee. Following the walk-backs, Trump met privately with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus in an apparent effort to smooth things over, but on Sunday, the hot-and-cold relationship appeared on the verge of fracturing once again.
Those kinds of comments, I think, have consequences, Priebus said on ABCs This Week of Trumps latest remarks. When you make those kinds of comments, and you want people to fall in line for you, it makes it more difficult.
In yet another interview, Priebus admitted he wasnt sure whether he felt the former businessman was the partys best candidate.
I dont know, Priebus said on NBCs Meet the Press. Listen, I dont worry about who is the strongest candidate.
Further suggesting Trump was undeterred by the criticism were demands he made during a rally in Wisconsin whose pivotal primary on Tuesday will put for up grabs another 96 delegates that Kasich drop out of the GOP race.

Not to be too ‘brilliant’ for you, but a 3rd party candidate who actually wins electoral votes might be the only way the republican nominee can win.
Unless a miracle happens, with the baggage Trump has managed to build up for himself, he can’t win on a 3rd party ticket... and if we end up with a democrat, we are toast!
Thanks to levin, GOP, media, and out-to-lunch masses, this is not going to end well. I had hopes that Trump could manage to get hold of this runaway wheel and fix America. He has the guts and stamina to do it.. but he shoots himself in the foot with his mouth.. and evidently he won’t listen to Melania nor his strategists, for surely they have been advising him to shut up or grow up.
That ain’t gonna happen.
And it makes more sense for the candidate with far fewer delegates to drop out.
Perot redux
I’ll wager that much of the GOP-E wants Trump to go third party, and they want him to commit to it before the convention.
They want him to be strong enough to win electoral votes that would put the presidential selection into the House of Representatives. The GOP controls around 35 of the state Congressional delegations that would each get one vote.
Meanwhile he has the GOPe and Cruz stealing delegates and the GOP blocking candidates instead of just letting there be s contest with a result by the voters.
I think the GOP is burning itself down.
I agree.
The other two GOPe clowns have done the same, so non-story.
But what’s the point? We could put Bernie Sanders on our ticket and beat Hillary.
Unfortunately for you that isn’t the republican party’s basis....next election you should form your own party!!
Dear God I loathe this narcissist with a fervor that is bordering on un-Christian. This forum is becoming spiritually unhealthy for me.
He is leading throughout the northeast and the pacific coast.
The ‘down in the mouth’ reporting is designed to dishearten Trump supporters.
Personally, I don’t give a rip that he retweeted an ugly Heidi Cruz pic, that he said abortion is breaking the law if it’s declared illegal (duh), and that he wants to pay off the debt in 8 years.
So what. The first one was simply part of the same game that Cruz was playing, the second is actually logical, and the third is something that I do want.
So, what’s there to be depressed about?
Nobody’s steeling anything...Trump follows the same rules as everyone else...no 1237 no dice!!!
I’ve said this before and you won’t answer , and instead you go off on another thread repeating your crap.
Tell me why should the winner, the one in front with over two million votes, nearly 3 times more states and more delegates stand down to let a runner up in?
Why can’t you answer it?
Any sport, any race where the leader then steps down and states I will let the guy behind make in.
Name any place where that has happened.
It was over or cruz after FL and his dismal display in the south and in the 3 swing states where he came 3rd in all and can’t even win a single county in VA, FL which we need to beat Clinton/
I don’t think that would work.
Don’t you remember Obama, how the media treated him?
Once this is settled, Hillary will be the Goddess of Wisdom and Light according to the media. Just watch it unfold.
What happened?
Actually, that was cover. It was obvious in the follow on reports that there were some heavy words between Trump and RNC.
“Wisconsin whose pivotal primary on Tuesday will put for up grabs another 96 delegates”
Or 42 as reported everywhere else?
Will you be the Veep?
