Donald Trump continued his war with party bosses Sunday, once again saying that he wouldnt rule out a third-party run if he failed to secure the GOP nomination and demanding that rival John Kasich drop out of the race.
Were going to have to see how I was treated. Im going to have to see how I was treated. Very simple, Trump said on Fox News Sunday when asked if he would categorically rule out running as a third-party independent candidate if he failed to win his partys nomination. Its not a question of win or lose. Its a question of treatment. I want to be treated fair.
The comments came just days after Trump, Kasich and Ted Cruz backed out of pledges to support the GOPs eventual nominee. Following the walk-backs, Trump met privately with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus in an apparent effort to smooth things over, but on Sunday, the hot-and-cold relationship appeared on the verge of fracturing once again.
Those kinds of comments, I think, have consequences, Priebus said on ABCs This Week of Trumps latest remarks. When you make those kinds of comments, and you want people to fall in line for you, it makes it more difficult.
In yet another interview, Priebus admitted he wasnt sure whether he felt the former businessman was the partys best candidate.
I dont know, Priebus said on NBCs Meet the Press. Listen, I dont worry about who is the strongest candidate.
Further suggesting Trump was undeterred by the criticism were demands he made during a rally in Wisconsin whose pivotal primary on Tuesday will put for up grabs another 96 delegates that Kasich drop out of the GOP race.

“Party, party above all, above anything in the world” (”Deutschland, Deutschland über alles, über alles in der Welt!”)
“Trump isn't following the rules that we feel we can change at any time!”
“Peak Trump”
“Trump is going to steal my cheese!”
“It's not fair when they do it too!”
“I need a whaaambulance!”
“The little people don't know what is good for them.”
“It is our party, shut up an vote the way we told you or we will override you and that will hurt the party.”
“Myself, my position, my money, my paymaster, my allies, my party, my country, in that order.”
Any others?
Trump was the FIRST to break the Pledge.
Cruz SUPPORTS the pledge....because HE will BE the nominee!
Ditto that. Good bye republican backstabbers. They are making a mockery of the primary process. Makes me never want to cast another vote in this banana republic.
Of course he plans to run 3rd Party. The Rump is and always has been a shill for Hill. Duh.
Whether or not you agree with him, Trump has laid it all out on the line for months. For a man of his years he’s been running a marathon. The idea that he’s somehow doing this as a set-up for a woman he’s attacked quite graphically is illogical and unfair.
How does the Establishment or anybody else force Kasich to surrender his right to run?
Let’s say Trump gets 45% of the votes and Cruz gets close to 40%. Can you imagine a scenario in which Cruz and his supporters will swing behind Trump.
I’m thinking that there will be a deadlock between the two biggest camps. Of necessity a third option will have to emerge. But the thing to remember is that both Trump and Cruz delegates would have to get behind that third option!
I will bet that 73% negative among women was due to surgery questions like “Do you want Trump in your womb telling you what to do?” “Did you know Trump has a company that makes chastity belts for ugly women?”
“The game IS the problem and the fact that someone running for President with millions of more votes than others needs to know a GAME in addition is a good reason to burn that game down.”
And then how does he burn the game down when he is playing it on the world stage? Point is, if he cannot handle it at the national level, there is no way he will handle it on the international level.
Why would Trump not weigh his options? He’s the front runner. It’s quite obvious that the GOP is basically trying to stop their own front runner from winning. This entire election has nothing to do with the millions of people voting for Trump. This is BS. No way will trump voters stick stand with the corrupt old party if they screw trump. If our votes don’t matter in the primary, why should we bother in the general?
Why do you oppose the 60% of Republican voters who don’t want Trump?
They been posting the dumbest comments, then act like they are serious.
Two cheeks on the same ass.
I agree with you. You don’t get party leadership support without selling your soul on a number of issues that are killing Americans. Cruz has signed away his outsider legitimacy when he started carrying water for the GOPe. Cruz has been measured, weighed, and purchase by the globalists. He has betrayed every Cuban that died fighting Castro for freedom. Only a Creeper could deny this because money has its own gravity and they are to weak to break out of orbit.
When did Trump break his pledge? That is news to me.
Actually it was Rubio who said that he would not support Trump as a nominee. He said that at least a month ago. There was several others, including Romney. They all broke their pledges.
Quit using caps.
“How does the Establishment or anybody else force Kasich to surrender his right to run?”
The party is not without influence, though ultimately they can’t force him. He’s got no chance, but he thinks he’s got a shot in an open convention. They could convince him otherwise.
The gopE superpacs spending millions IN THE PRIMARY to defeat Trump is not fair either.
As for third party, can he get on the ballot in every state?
As for the sore loser law, I don’t think that would stand up in court if challenged.
This point cannot be repeated often enough. It is unconscionable and stupid what they've done to their own frontrunner.
Folks wonder at Trump and polls. I wonder how HIGH they'd be if he wasn't getting attacked from every side INCLUDING his own side.
I cannot think of another candidate ever to have endured such a thing.
