Not so fast, Ted: New Wisconsin poll shows Trump in neck-and-neck battle with Cruz
The Daily Mail ^ | March 31, 2016 | David Martosko

Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are headed to a photo finish in Wisconsin next Tuesday according to the latest poll numbers, which show the Texas senator ahead of the New York billionaire by just a single percentage point.

Public Policy Polling, a left-leaning firm, surveyed likely voters in the Badger State and found Cruz leading the Republican primary contest with 38 per cent, compared with Trump's 37.

The dramatically different results could be explained by sample sizes: Marquette's pollsters interviewed 471 likely Republican primary voters, while Public Policy Polling surveyed 768.

They could also reflect quickly shifting political winds in Wisconsin, seasoned with a series of Trump rallies that tend to create unpredictable news cycles.

Cruz is going to give the Republican party the brokered convention it so badly wants.

Way to go. :)

It’s not 1860. It’s not even that close. Trump is almost 300 d’s up on Ted. Ted fans have nothing but hope right now, they must need buckets of tums. For Ted to win he has to “hope” Trump doesn’t get to 1237. Then he has to “hope” that most of the country’s republicans don’t turn on him from FLA to MI and AZ to NY, IL, VA etc who voted solidly for Trump. Ted is a lyin’ cheatin’ little sneak.

Thank you, that’s potentially good news as I thought it was automatic 40 for the winner.

Also on hand were Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Republican elder statesman Karl Rove, House Speaker Paul Ryan, GOP Sens. Tom Cotton (Ark.), Cory Gardner (Colo.), Tim Scott (S.C.), Rob Portman (Ohio) and Ben Sasse (Neb.), who recently made news by saying he could never support Trump.

Every one knows what these conniving filth are plotting!

If Cruz gives the Republican Party the brokered convention it has been working for, Cruz may wake up with the horse head in his bed. The Republican Party will not nominate Cruz. It will not be Kasich. They will nominate their man: Paul Ryan. And that, my FRiends, will guarantee the election of Hillary. Take that to the bank!

So, continue to be stubborn, continue to be ignorant, continue to be stupid. Kick that horse head out of bed, get up, put on some pants, put on your red hat and go to work electing Donald J. Trump as our next President of the United States!

It will also mean a devastating loss of the house and senate because lots of Trump supporters will walk out on the GOPee forever and many will be so pissed off they will vote Trump as write-in and straight dem on the down ticket. :-/

This means a very left wing SCOTUS and the loss of our republic... will there be anywhere to escape to?

Not so sad to be not so young.....

Pity the youth! No way to achieve the American dream anymore.

The GOPee doesn't care - as long as they maintain their position at the money trough, all is OK.

Once I learned that many polls are used to “shape an issue” I realized none can be trusted.

Hi nooob. Which PAC is paying for you to join us?

Same question can be asked of you and many more of us from the way we post - what makes being a nooob different if the post is as accurate as any other posts?

Funny how one can use any excuse to deny that which he doesn't want to hear. Different polls with different sources and sample sizes have been all over the spectrum. It seems that the smaller samples favor Cruz and the larger samples have them neck-in-neck.

Did the "Dump Trump" riff-raff enlist you to stick here? Just askin'.....

The reality TV star and real estate tycoon is likely to benefit from a sizable number of Democratic 'crossover' voters – middle-class whites, many in labor unions – who will support Trump more on personality than on policy. That entire group is invisible in a poll that excludes Democrats, as both the Marquette and PPP surveys did.

Wisconsin's primary is an 'open' one, meaning the Republican contest is not limited to only registered Republican voters. Trump has performed markedly better in open-primary states than in those with closed elections.

Two polls using different populations get different results. Which one is going to be closer to reality?

Public Policy Polling polled the most objective people, ya know, that would be Univ Wisc faculty in Madison.

If that be the case, it's Trump in a landslide!

I fully expect Cruz to take Wisconsin by 5+ points. It won't be close and it has never been close.

if Trump wins, consider it a big upset.

>>I just love the ‘Trump is the most unpopular’ polls the last couple of days. LOL!

If someone polled me and I was willing to be honest to a pollster, I would say that I don’t “ like” Trump either. But I will crawl through broken glass to vote for him.

He might be a SOB, but he is my SOB!
