MADISON, Wis. (AP) Ted Cruz says there is a risk that Donald Trump supporters would bolt from the Republican Party if he loses the nomination at the GOP convention this summer.
Thats why Cruz said in an interview on WTMJ radio in Milwaukee on Thursday that the best course is for the Texas senator to win a majority of the delegates before then.

Teds' smarts have been vastly over rated. I am begining to think he is an affirmative action baby just like O.
How does it feel to be an establishment stooge on the same side as Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Lindsey Gram, Paul Ryan, Carly Fiorinia, Golden Sacs and the entire GOPe donors class against those of us that wish to preserve the USA as a constitutional republic? Have you gotten your NWO ball cap yet? Has Heidi sent you your long live the North American Union t-shirt?
How surprising. He found a way to USE this conclusion.
Hillary is going to win in a landslide
I think she’ll carry the Obama states
If Trump is not on the ballot I show up vote for my Congressman on his second line (NEVER vote Republican again ever) and go home.
The party left me a long time ago. I’mdone with it.
We're of one mind, then.
Can’t write a name in on the “Republican ticket” in the general election.
“I will proudly take my ball and go home.”
Don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.
I’m sure Hillary will welcome your support.
If Trump is railroaded out of the nomination and Hillary or her replacement are elected, Trump will continue to lead from outside the White House.
How erudite of you...such a well reasoned response.
Calling your opponent "Lyin' Ted" several thousand times does not conjure any images of Kabuki theatre.
The metaphor for the Cruz/Trump feud that I've posited for a week or so is that of two sabre tooth tigers in a death match over mating rights in the Brea Tar Pits. The end result is death for victor and vanquished.
His place in the bigger picture, his actions, and perhaps his motives, are better understood if one begins with that fundamental truth.
Cruz, once seen as the potential beast slayer, is now, and perhaps always was, just another player and plaything of the beast.
Good act, though. I was an early fan of this Kabuki character until I peeked behind the curtain.
Well well have to disagree Quigley.....I am one that its not over til its over...and I certainly wouldnt agree that Cruz is costing us the election.
As much as I understand why and how Trump has come this far, and as much the same of his supporters....I will not get on the Trump train. If and when theres a Convention , and it looks like its headed that way....then well see whats determined. But for now there are still delegates to get, and those to bargain with....the race isnt over and we do not have a winner yet.

Reality the base is winning 80% vs the established candidates, in Trump and Cruz. But Trump is the conservative choice by millions of voters.
Losing FL and OH to Trump by a combined 1,000,000 votes buried any chance Cruz has. Cruz’s pathway to White House ended then. No candidate has ever suffered that kind of defeat in those 2 purple states and been the nominee much less the Pres. Every professional and amateur in politics understands this.
But lets map out the rest of the primary season.
Cruz will win Wisconsin but there are no big delegate states left where he is not losing badly to Trump and they are all proportional states, not winner take all. Not enough delegates left for Cruz to even get close.
Trump will have 1100 to 1300 delegates, Cruz 700 to 800. So Cruz’s only path is by convention vote and pissing off the 1,000,000 Trump voters in Fl and Oh, those same voters Cruz will need to beat Hillary. Not enough of those voters will crossover to Cruz.
He knows this, so whats he doing? I believe this is where the bought and paid for comes into play, he is simply following his masters, the money bundlers, which is the case for all these candidates but Trump, they have no money of their own, this is the only plausible explanation, cause Cruz is no dummy he knows he can’t win.
And yes I will say he is costing us a chance at the election, because he is not the first choice of the base, also he knows this, Trump is. What he should be doing is finding a way to reconcile with Trump, maybe as VP, although Cruz’s actions in the last 2 weeks may have doomed that.
Donald Trump isn't The Sun King. He does't have a divine right to the nomination. If he can reach 1237 he gets it. If not, well.....
I know that Trump claims to have millions of voters.....but it’s the delegates at convention who select the winner in the end, bound and otherwise pending the number of times they will vote, if this does go to convention.
As for using stats from past elections....I think we all know this election is a far cry from any other beforehand, both in voters, players and the committees around them plays....So you really cannot do more than speculate the outcome at best. They’re already determining if their rules will change...and Trump certainly makes his own....they may play his game of rule change.
You may believe that Trump is causing us to loose the election....but for me it’s Trump that’s doing so.
True, delegates may choose nominees, but voters choose presidents, house and senate members. Trump or Hillary will be the next Prez., Cruz’s national political aspirations will be finished.
Go back and reread my previous post, no other way this can turn out.
“Thats why Cruz said in an interview on WTMJ radio in Milwaukee on Thursday that the best course is for the Texas senator to win a majority of the delegates before then.”
Cruz is either a HEAD CASE, or just evil. Not good either way.
