‘Fair Trade’: Ted Cruz Rejects GOP Orthodoxy, Joins Jeff Sessions Populist Revolt
Breitbart ^ | 3/31/2016 | Michelle Moons

Posted on 03/31/2016 5:11:07 PM PDT by lodi90

Presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz pledges to “stand up for fair trade” in a new state-wide Wisconsin ad hitting on international trade deals, a signature issue of frontrunner Donald Trump’s campaign.

“Free trade” is generally seen as a globalist policy in which restrictions on imports and exports are kept to an absolute minimum. “Fair traders,” on the other hand, argue that purely free trade can have negative consequences for the citizens of a particular country, especially when it comes to wages and employment opportunities for the lower and middle classes. They recommend that sovereign nations negotiate and implement trade deals that prioritize their own people first. This debate has been a centerpiece of the 2016 primary season as both political parties have seen populist factions revolt against their respective establishments over what they view as unfair free trade deals.

Cruz, speaking directly to the camera, says:

Wisconsin is a beautiful place where the people place solutions over slogans.

Our campaign is for the working moms, the truck drivers, the mechanics, and the machinists with calluses on their hands. It’s for the farmers and factory workers and the families who worry about prices going up while paychecks stay flat. It’s for the young people coming out of school unable to find a job.

I’m going to stand up for fair trade, and bring our jobs back from China.

We will see wages going up. We’ll see opportunity again.

We’ll see a President who will stand with the people of Wisconsin, and Americans everywhere.

This is a significant change in policy and rhetoric for Cruz away from Republican party’s limitless trade orthodoxy.

Regardless of party affiliation, Trump has always been a big government social leftie.

His statements WRT Planned Barrenhood show that he still is.

Everything Cruz promotes has been his solid position since at least 2011.

That is where Trump got his shtick.

Trump said no funds for Planned Parenthood as long as they do abortions.

If they stop doing abortions, I don’t care if they get funded for treating other women’s health issues.

If they don’t do anything but abortions then they are out of business. Case closed.

But it doesn’t cost Trump anything to say he’ll fund women’s health services provided by Planned Parenthood as long as they don’t do abortions. And it makes him look more moderate to any democrats who believed Planned Parenthood when they claimed abortions are only a small part of what they do.

Trump keeps on saying that PP is “doing great things for women.”

They are not.

90% of their income is abortions, and the rest is mammograms that cause cancer most of the time.

You need to read Jeff Sessions comments on Ted Cruz.

You are living in a Trump nightmare.

Cruz is the real deal that actually knows how to do what he says he will do. Trump is Obama in white face. Knows how to fail, as he does professionally in business all the time, to the great chagrin of thousands of elderly investors all the time.

Cloture vote on TPA ring a bell? Remember Heidi, his Goldman Sachs globalist wife totally onboard with TPP? Ted Cruz is the real deal only as far as globalist, 20 year Bush operative, GOP establishment insiders go. I am unfortunately not in the market for more Cruz lies at this time.

Washington Times

Trump changed parties at least 5 times.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jun/16/donald-trump-changed-political-parties-at-least-fi/

Mr. Trump registered for the first time in New York as a Republican in July 1987, only to dump the GOP more than a decade later for the Independence Party in October 1999, according to the New York City Board of Elections.

In August 2001, the billionaire enrolled as a Democrat. Eight years later, he returned to the Republican Party, The Smoking Gun reported.

After only two years as a registered Republican, Mr. Trump left the party again, and in December 2011 marked a box that indicated, “I do not wish to enroll in a party.”

Mr. Trump returned to the GOP in April 2012, The Smoking Gun reported

I get tested pretty regular. I am not the one drugged up enough to buy the Cruz BS. I did in 2012 but i have recovered. I hope to vote against the fraud in 2018.

Cruz worked with Paul Ryan on rolling out TPA. When Sessions warned that TPA usurped Congressional authority over immigration, Cruz denied it, said Sessions was wrong. Cruz voted for cloture to bring TPA to the floor for a vote in the Senate, and then he voted for it. So that is two votes for TPA.

When it came back to the Senate after it passed the House, Cruz voted against it because his vote was no longer needed to pass it.

I heard him tell Levin that he voted against TPA the second time because “leadership” did not take out the immigration language that he had denied was in it before he voted for it.

It’s beyond ironic to see these mouth breathing Cruzies spam this thread on Cruz’s abject plagiarism of another plank of Trump’s platform. They are beyond shameless.

I admit that I had pretty high hopes for Calgary Ted at one time. I even gave that fake money as recently as last year, which shows what an effective liar he is. I treat it as a lesson learned. My sons were the same way and came to the same conclusion as did many of my friends. All it took was a bit of research. I guess we’ll see how it all plays out.

Terminal confusion.

I’ve been following election politics since the 1952 screwing of MacArthur that stuck us with Ike.

Cruz is the current MacArthur.
