Things have gotten way out of control here as of late. You know as well as most of us, that this war must end and end now, or your forum will end up being nothing more than a joke.
I humbly suggest that you not just request, but demand, that everyone step back and take a serious look at the slanderous comments being made by both camps. Debate is one thing, but what is happening is no longer a debate. This forum is on the verge of a civil war. A war that need not happen. For the good of this great forum, I and many I have talked to on both sides of the war admit things have gone too far.
I am a Ted Cruz supporter, yet I call on all my fellow Cruz supporters to put the knives back in the sheaths, as I ask the same of all you Trump supporters.
This civil war of Freeper against Freeper must end, or the result will inevitably be a complete destruction of this once great forum.
I begin by laying down my weapons as a gesture of good will. From hence forth I will not post any comments that are just knee jerk angry remarks that only serve to fuel the fires of hate and animosity.
We all have a common enemy in this fight, the eventual Democrat Presidential Nominee. I suggest we all remember this, because a house divided upon itself cannot stand, nor defeat the enemy.
I also offer this promise to everyone. Should Trump win the nomination, I promise to fight as hard, and as passionate, for him to become POTUS as I will for Cruz.

If GOP fratricide doesn’t stop, that joke will be good for 8 more years simply by changing “Mr.” to “Madame” to refer to PIAPS.

I haven't read down this 400+ comment thread to see if Jim has taken a position yet. So, if I'm off the mark I'll accept due correction.
However, FR has ALWAYS been a forum that vets candidates. Often that vetting has been vicious derision and false accusation.
This goes on until such time as Jim "Makes the Call"...and as an old-timer yourself you know what that means.
What has changed is Freeper viciously and derisively attacking fellow Freepers. This is brought about by dumb people taking an attack on THEIR candidate as an attack on themselves.
And that's childish and something I won't participate in.
So, in the past it's been OK to excoriate candidates (again, until Jim makes the call. He won't let anyone tear down the nominee or presumptive nominee). Call 'em homosexual pedophiles etc. Stupid. Evil. whatever.
But I'd like to see more strident enforcement of the longstanding FR rule and TRADITION of not personally attacking your fellow Freepers.

Jim is right, a God-less Democrat has to be defeated. Was hoping they would work together for the better goal as the life of the country is a stake and putting in a RINO that nobody would vote for would only help Hillary or whoever Obama pulls out of his sleeve.
Well that tends to happen with a substantial amount of the forum supporting a big government statist like Trump...there will indeed be pushback. In just the last few days, Trump has blasted Scott Walker for not raising taxes and not raising spending as much as Trump thinks he should, as well as stated that welfare programs are the top functions of the government in the just latest of countless examples that Trump is anti-conservative and pro big government.
Nobody has to defend an unsubstantiated charge......rumors are not facts
