Mitt Romney's popularity among Republicans has plummeted
Boston Globe ^ | March 29, 2016 | Eric Levenson

Mitt Romney's reemergence this election cycle as a harsh critic of Donald Trump has been crippling for his favorability among Republican voters, a new poll shows.

Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, is seen as favorable by just 28 percent of Republican primary voters, according to a Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday. A startling 62 percent of Republican primary voters view him unfavorably, the poll found, and 10 percent said they were not sure.

That net favorability of minus-34 percentage points is a dramatic drop from polling conducted prior to 2016. In January 2015, for example, Romney was seen positively by 52 percent of Republicans

I remember in 2012 he could never get above 25% votes in early primary states.

Then he was coronated and some of the GOP rank and file fell in line.

But enough of voters stayed home because they saw he was a liar and because he was a liberal saying he was conservative.

He and the people that coronated him are a very big part of the reason of why voters can’t stand the GOPe.

“Mitt Romney’s popularity among Republicans has plummeted”

Can’t imagine why... (/sarc)

Good grief, I’ve been busily despising him for ages. Ever since he helped facilitate homo-marriage onto the country, back when he was MA governor.

And he didn’t get my vote for that reason! The first Republican candidate on a ballot to not get my vote, in my entire adult, voting life.

I think it’s been hard for Romney to return to a more private life, after being “Mr. It.” of 2012. There is so much he and Ann could still do, if they don’t want to just sit at home.

He could help open schools and hospitals in states that have been ravaged by hurricanes and unemployment. He could help to repair old churches that still have a vibrant parish. Think bigger than yourself Mitt. You can still be part of the game, but from a different perspective, one of healing and educating.
Leave us voters alone, please. We no longer require your guidance on elections.

“But enough of voters stayed home because they saw he was a liar and because he was a liberal saying he was conservative.”

That is exactly how we got Obama elected — TWICE.

Winning may not be everything, but losing isn’t anything.

Second place in an election does not count. Nobody remembers Alf Landon, except as a footnote to history. Not only losing to FDR by a landslide, he actively SUPPORTED most of the New Deal. It might be noted, that Alf Landon was also a Progressive, one of the RINOs of the Great Depression years, and the primary reason the New Deal was never fully dismantled when Republicans regained full control in 1953.

Ok, I’ll ask. How did his popularity get high in the first place?

So...It’s definitely more than 47% that would never vote for him.

The ‘We’ you refer to didn’t get anyone elected. The power brokers designed everything so that they would get either Obama or Romney; both were acceptable to them.

As Soros said in 2012 when asked what he thought of the candidates, he said, “If it’s between Obama and Romney, there isn’t all that much difference except for the crowd that they bring with them.”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2839878/posts

What people understand today, what they’ve woken up to is they haven’t been able to decide who the candidate is. They have only chosen from a menu of preselected entrees. This is why today there is a revolt because people now see the process of democratic elections has been turned into a scam.

What the political parties have done is to have their preselected nominees read from a script of platform issues to whip voters into a frenzy and get them acting as a cheerleading section. Voter have been fooled into thinking they are ordering steak when in fact they are getting squirrel The scripted issues are irrelevant; they are fake. What matters to the power brokers is to get their guy into the power zone, control it and keep it.

This is why Donald Trump scares them and this is why they have pulled out the stops to take him down. They will also turn to criminal elements to assassinate him because he threatens their entire structure.

The voters were supposed to have a menu of Hillary! or Jeb! but that didn’t happen, so the power brokers are scrambling.

“That is exactly how we got Obama elected — TWICE.”

Yeah, because with Romney in the White Hut we wouldn’t have had national healthcare, endless wars in Syria, TPP, open borders, hostility with Russia, gay marriage, a planned parenthood supporter, etc etc.

Oh, wait....

I remember that vividly. We were told by all of the radio charlatans to rally around him to avoid damaging him as a nominee against obama. Not this s-head is trying to cause a brokered convention.
