Methinks the Goldberg doth protest too much . . . Twice during his appearance on today's Morning Joe, The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg claimed that he wasn't there to "flack" for President Obama on foreign policy . . . but then proceeded to do just that.
The Atlantic recently published a long piece by Goldberg on Obama's foreign policy, based on the author's interviews of the president and some of his top national security aides. In his first flack, Goldberg defended Obama's cool-dude shades-wearing, wave-doing attendance at a Cuban baseball game and his tangoing in Argentina in the immediate wake of the Brussels bombings: "he's philosophically commited that terrorism will not defeat us." In his second flack, he defended Obama's giving up on the Middle East, claiming the president was being "practical" and "understands the tragic limitations of the American presidency." [Thank God Ronald Reagan didn't realize he could never bring down that wall.]

Liberal magazine writer claims he’s not flacking for Obama . . . then proceeds to flack for Obama.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
The Atlantic is filled with wrecks, crabs and sewage.
It’s also the name of an ocean.
Good one! [We need a ‘like’ button!]
Yet another dishonest Obama stooge in the MSM.
Meaning that he is there for no reason other than to flack for Obama.
I’ve never been a subscriber, but I have generally read the Atlantic over many years. They’ve gone from being predominantly interesting to blithering irrelevance and stoned out navel-scratching in about a decade. I think reading the Atlantic actually destroys brain cells.
Back in the days of Michael Kelly and James Fallows the Atlantic provided a somewhat rational discussion of policy alternatives. Since Obama, it is no longer possible to rationalize healthcare or foreign policy, or anything that happens in Washington DC.
Nice!
This isn’t going to hurt... (it’s gonna hurt)
You can trust me... (nope, honest people don’t have to say that...)
It’s not about the money (It’s about the money)
I’m not “flacking” for President Obama (He’s flackig...)
