Why did Ted Cruz's PAC give half a million to Carly Fiorina's?

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has asked a Ted Cruz super PAC to explain why it gave $500,000 to another super PAC supporting one of his Republican rivals.
According to financial disclosures from June, Keep the Promise I - one of four separate committees backing Cruz - gave half a million dollars to CARLY for America, the political action committee supporting Carly Fiorina.
Super PACs are legally allowed to give money to other super PACs - they are only prohibited from donating directly to any political campaign. But it's unusual for one of these groups to give money to an opponent, especially when the candidate it supports is still in the race.

Of course you had to twist the quote, but we are used to that.
What he spoke of was in relation to the brightest among us stating that only low info, low educated people are for Trump. I doubt this will make much sense to you but I tried.
Wondering, what will Cruz supporters do and say when ONE of these women come forward and validate these rumors?

Trump's hubris is founded in his money alone. He is predominantly a man of craft, not necessarily a man of principle --- unless, of course, you happen to consider a guy who supports his wealth on the backs of pathological gamblers to be a man of principle. His money so far has made him untouchable by the media and he is not subjected to critical thinking by his adoring acolytes, such as yourself. Either that or your "conservatism" is indeed as shallow as he considers yours to be. Either way, you have affirmatively earned the title, "rube." Trump's life and his words are the embodiment of internal confliction. It is no wonder that one such as yourself who has been bought by all the feigned hubris finds himself by his own admission to be so confused.
Did you as a Cruz supporter really write that with a straight face? LOL
My only confusion was at your non-sensical logic. Combined with your inability to apply simple discernment. you are in for a very rough week.
I'm curious, when Ted Cruz has his Jimmy Swaggart "I have sinned" meltdown will you be sobbing right along with your "man on pricinple"? Or you will YOU start to use some critical thinking of your own and realize Cruz, a man of "craft", played YOU for a rube (hey, as long as I wave the Constitution in one hand and the Bible in the other, I'll be surrounded by my "adoring acolytes").

I have been trying this glorious afternoon trying to determine if the FEC has completed it’s investigation. No luck so far.
Two things come to mind...The request for verification of fund disbursement was submitted to the PAC...not Cruz and is a routine request. Second...this is a resurrected story from last year and could well have been resolved by now.
I’ll look more later.

Since all we have now (or may ever have) is speculation...I’ll add mine.
I agree with you. I think it was Rubio, et al. What a great way to besmirch both of the frontrunners and take the nomination to the convention.
And it looks like it maybe working. I think most people really aren’t tuned in right and only read the headlines. And most are probably turned off by all of it.

Because PACs are not supposed to have any contact with the candidate they support. The FEC is investigating whether any one from Cruz’s campaign directed the PAC to give Carly the money.

From all I have read...the FEC is requesting substantiation for the disbursement, not who authorized it. If you have other info, I’d appreciate you share it since I have been doing a lot of research on this.
From what I have been able to determine, it is not illegal for one pac to donate to another. There was a large donor in the Cruz pac that supported both Fiorina and Cruz. It is not uncommon for a pac to donate to other campaigns. It happens a lot.
That is why, after being associated with and leaving the inception of a pac, I determined that it is best to donate directly to an individual campaign. One actually has no control over how funds are dispersed in a pac or the RNC.

A direct hit? On what, proving you are a blowhard and pompous ass? Bullseye! LOL
I am not the conflicted or confused one. My points actually follow a path of logic and consistency. Your little trip on the Cruz ship is about to come to a rather abrupt end. Hope you enjoyed your time aboard Teddy's Titanic that is about to have its hull ripped to shreds by an iceberg of reality. Don't worry, all of us "rubes" will be sure to give you a friendly wave as we pass by.

What he spoke of was in relation to the brightest among us stating that only low info, low educated people are for Trump. He's laughing AT you, sister, but you are so beguiled by this populist Rasputin you refuse to see the mockery he makes of you and supporters like you.

You speculatively concern yourself with a rumor, and yet, despite Trump's bragging openly and unapologetically about the number of women he has bedded, his serial affairs, and adultery, you don't seem to care.
You are merely another one of those shallow thinking "conservatives" that Trump mocks at the same time he courts your support.
Prepare for your own serious helping of disappointment.

You’re right Cruz has no “authority” with the PAC. They aren’t supposed to “coordinate”. But they all met with Cruz in advance, and after meetings with him, decided to start the PACs to support him. And when the Cruz campaign wants an ad made, they put a bunch of video online so the PAC can download it and make an ad. And when the campaign wants the PAC to do something, they make a public complaint or hint, so the PAC will take action. Oh they can claim they aren’t technically coordinating, but they sure manage to get things done.

Super PACs can give to other Super PACs it is not illegal. It is not like Hillary laundering money from foreign governments through her foundation.

Ill look more later.I expect this story from last year is going to get a bit of scrutiny this year.
In a letter sent to Keep The Promise I on September 21, the FEC requested an explanation be given for the disbursement of funds to CARLY for America, and that Failure to adequately respond by (October 21) could result in an audit or enforcement action.
The only explanation listed for the expense at the time of the contribution was other disbursement.
Keep The Promise I is one of four political PACs set up to raise money for Cruzs presidential campaign endeavors (the other three are creatively monikered Keep the Promise PAC, Keep the Promise II, and Keep the Promise III). Keep The Promise I alone has already raised over $11 million dollars for Cruz so far, but not much of that money has been spent yet. According to the FEC, only $536,170 has been used by the PAC. $36,170 of that went towards paying for attorneys fees and surveys while the bulk of the cash went towards Fiorinas presidential war chest.
Even stranger, the large sum was donated to Fiorina while she was still a relatively unknown candidate. According to one Washington Post ABC News poll, the former HP head was polling at 0% at the time. It wasnt until August 6 when Fiorina performed well in the first GOP lower candidate debate that she was on anyones political radar nationally.
In June, the FEC forced the Fiorina PAC to change its name from Carly for America to CARLY (an acronym for Conservative Authentic Responsive Leadership for You) for America Super PAC. The name change was in response to the FEC claiming the original title was in violation of its rules. As the Washington Post states: FEC rules state committees can only use a federal candidates name if theyre authorized by that candidate, something super PACS, by rule, cannot be since theyre supposed to be independent.
The response was due Oct 21, 2015. Perhaps you can find it.
This letter is prompted by the Commission's preliminary review of the report referenced above. This notice requests information essential to full public disclosure of your federal election campaign finances. Failure to adequately respond by the response date noted above could result in an audit or enforcement action.

You’re rather arrogant Aga - and you make quite a few assumptions. I realize you believe you are right, so therefore I must be wrong.
Here’s the part you are not understanding. Cruz is never going to halt immigration - bank on it. So who is laughing at who?
You want to believe your savior has arrived - I know that neither of them are anything but flawed men.
As for Trump’s past, that’s a lame point even for a Cruz fan to make. I don’t recall Trump claiming to be the consistent Christian, nor was he running for office.
