Chris Christie is looming large behind the scenes of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, coaching him before the last GOP debate and lining up policy experts, donors and big-name backers, according to a report Friday.

The New Jersey governor is far more than just a high-profile supporter and has become one of Trump’s most trusted advisers, NJ.com reported.

“Christie is clearly making the transition from endorser to enabler and positioning himself to be a major player in the Trump camp,” David Kennedy, a presidential historian, told NJ.com.

Edward Newton, who vetted Christie when he was considered a possible running mate for Mitt Romney in 2012, said the fact that Christie was coaching Trump shows how high his star has risen.

Well, I’m a ‘trumpie’ as you so brilliantly write and I don’t think it’s an idea to love.

President Trump Cabinet

Gov. Greg Abbott or Sen. Jeff Sessions as Vice President

Department of State, (return INS.) - Newt Gingrich
Department of Justice - Rep. Steve King
Department of Treasury, (includes former Homeland Security - Customs) - Carl Icahn
Department of War, (change the name back.) Include former VA function - Gen. James Mattis
Department of Interior, (includes the legitimate functions only of former Dept. of Transportation, Dept. of Homeland Security - Border Patrol, and Energy Departments) -Gov. Sarah Palin
Department of Labor and Commerce - Herman Cain

This proposed model has the President directly managing seven subordinates which is optimal.

Department of Education - William J. Bennett in a Temporary position.
It will be ELIMINATED as proposed by The Donald, 9/23/15 at a Columbia, SC Town Hall with Sen. Tim Scott.
Department of Homeland Security - ELIMINATE
Department of Energy - ELIMINATE
Department of Health and Human Services - ELIMINATE
Department of Housing and Urban Development - ELIMINATE
Department of Veterans Affairs - ELIMINATE
Department of Agriculture - ELIMINATE
Department of Transportation - ELIMINATE

On Fox news Sunday, 10/18/15 Trump said he would cut funding for EPA and Dept. of Ed.

In non-cabinet level jobs

Gen. Peter Pace as National Security Adviser
LTC Ralph Peters as Director of National Intelligence (NDI)
Sheriff David Clarke should be FBI Director
Michelle Bachman as IRS Commissioner under Secretary Carl Icahn in Treasury
Admiral James A. Ace Lyons as Undersecretary of War - Navy Branch.
LTC Allen West as Undersecretary of War - Army Branch.
Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney as Undersecretary of War - Air Force Branch.
Ted Nugent as Undersecretary of Interior
Lynnette Diamond Hardaway and Rochelle Silk Richardson would be great as President Trumps Co-Press Secretaries.

Marsha Blackburn for Speaker of the House

How many delegates did Palin have when she was chosen as the VP running mate of McCain?

It’s the political silly season. We’ll know when Trump tells us. Just look at the Sarah Palin pick. BOOM!

McCain had the necessary delegates by the first week of March, and really had it wrapped up by the middle of February. McCain didn’t need anyone’s delegates.

The first thing Trump did when he woke-up the morning after his victory in the South Carolina Primary was to Tweet his thanks, and tell Gov. Palin that she was right. Her endorsement, and support, effectively broke the lock that Cruz had on the Southern States up until that time.

Trump and Christie come off together on stage well. It would be a good pick to challenge the Dems in a couple of the NE states, and would be a good anti terror ticket.

Other choices would be a Hail Mary pass with Dr Carson in hopes of getting some black votes but the stage presence with the two didn't seem to work.

I am still waiting for the Rubio endorsement and with Kasich in Ohio. both with delegates to throw his way.

Christie gets a high profile position for sure either way.

Giuliani as VP, no. They’d be giving up any chance of NY’s electoral votes.

it is too apparent since day 1 — anyone endorsing Trump wants the VP job. bunch of shameless self promoters that work in politics and the government.

I prefer Christie over Kasich. But I don’t think having two from the northeast on the ticket would work well. But this year is anything-can-happen year. Who knows?

Trump probably doesn’t even know how his VP would be yet.

If Rubio had one ounce of street smarts he would endorse Trump. For a guy from the barrio or there abouts he should see what is really happening and realize he has to change a lost game. Playing defense with Karate Man will only bring another level of defeat.

I thought Christie pointedly mention “AG” at one rally. We’ll see. Anything below AG would be beneath him.
