The National Enquirer published a story this week accusing Texas Senator Ted Cruz of multiple extramarital affairs.

It was discovered that weeks ago a large number of Marco Rubio operatives and supporters were trying to bring the sex scandal story to the MSM attention.
Under the open guise of #TheThing they were communicating via various twitter feeds and following along to see if the story had been picked up. Most of the activity was centered around March 10th – March 15th.
Yesterday the hashtag CruzSexScandal went viral. Today, many of those DC operatives, participants, supporters, consultants, Super-PAC’s and campaign advisors have spent a great deal of time deleting their (The Thing) participation. The peak of their scrubbing coincided with Senator Ted Cruz accusing Donald Trump of planting the story.

Virtually everyone in the blog-o-sphere who supported Marco Rubio was active, tweeting, re-tweeting, or following the events related to #TheThing. Now they’re running for cover and trying to hide their fingerprints.
Anti-Trump Republican operative Rick Wilson tweeted this out weeks ago. (He has since deleted it.)

You Trumpsters are running with this as if it is proven facts we are dealing with. As of this time the entire thing is National Enquirer gossip. It isn't even a real story. The National Enquirer is essentially reporting what they heard, it isn't even actually their own investigation. All day today we've been treated to gossip, random trash tweets, conspiracy videos, and more from the Trump mob. Have you even considered the possibility that Cruz is telling the truth and all of this is a bunch of BS?

When I said “Cruz and Trump beat each other up so badly”, it was non-specific. I should clarify that this is what I believe the GOPe wants to happen.
That being said, I think Trump is more likely to emerge a victor in any slugfest because “duking it out” is in Trump’s wheelhouse. This is why I think he would beat Hillary in a general. For all that’s been thrown at him in the primary, he’s still standing.

The National Enquirer has run this same kind of hit-piece on every Trump opponent as soon as they threaten his lead.
The National Enquirer hit-piece accusing Jeb of having an affair with a lawyer who was once a Playboy bunny, at the same time as Trump posted an unflattering photo of Jeb’s adult daughter... brings up the old saying, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME!” This is just how Trump functions, and his good buddy who’s in charge of the Enquirer has been happy to help out.
It’s a bit rich, though, that the hit was that Jeb had an affair with a Playboy bunny. Seems like that’s something that Trump would BOAST about, not consider it anything bad...
