Bill Kristol, founder and editor of The Weekly Standard, tells Newsmax TV he hopes a third-party candidate will emerge if Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are anointed the Republican and Democratic presidential nominees.
"I just don't think [Trump] has the character or temperament to be president of the United States ... [and] we're certainly not going to vote for Hillary," Kristol said Friday to J.D. Hayworth on "Newsmax Prime."
"There are a lot of fine Republicans and conservatives in the country, some of them are retired generals, some of them are businessmen, some of them are civic leaders, some of them are retired or current senators or governors.
"Let's see if anyone comes forward. Maybe it's all just a pipe dream. I'm willing to acknowledge it's possible that this won't happen."
And what would a third party be called?
"I kind of like the Federalist Party. They were a great party for the first 12 years in the republic before they went out of business. The Alexander Hamilton Party, there are a lot of good names," said Kristol, whose publication is a leading conservative opinion magazine.
"Look, I don't want to start a third party, I'm a Republican. I've voted Republican in every presidential election in my adult lifetime and virtually every Senate and governor, gubernatorial election.

Everyone should shred their issues of WEEKLY subSTANDARD, and mail it back to Kristol, personally.
Thank you Jim!
She has lost any grasp of reality and needs professional help.
She should not be posting on FR!
"I wish you could quit us."
Maybe 4 parties can run. The country probably needs four anyway. How would you like that Bill, you facist.
Doesn’t Bill Kristol have a fat pension just waiting somewhere for him? Please, Bill, accept it, and fade into retirement. We are REALLY sick of you!
LOLOLOL!
Thanks, Jim.
And you spared us from another damning opus.
Is there such a thing as frequent flyer miles for folks who get zotted multiple times?

“Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol said Wednesday that he would rather have Hillary Clinton in the White House than the Republican front-runner.”
I remember we were saying back when it happened that the vow to support the eventual nominee, whomever it might be, forced on Trump was unilateral.
They can’t trust any farther than they can be thrown.

`They can’t be trusted ...’
I wonder what cabinet post he is looking for under the hildabeast administration?
Thanks, Jim.
Cancelled my subscription early this month when this putz vaulted himself into the campaign.
Many more Americans will not vote for Cruz. Accept the truth, hardly anyone trust Cruz.
They all make me sick and I am fed up of all the elected officials we have.
Same here.
I have been able to continue my support of FreeRepublic.com after retirement by stopping subscriptions to magazines such as The Weekly Standard and New Republic, as well as stopping contributions to the NSRC, RNC, Tea Party Patriots, etc. It feels really good to peal away the haze over ones eyes and finally see what is really going on.
Being annoying after an opus is very bad form. You had no choice but to zot.
