Yeah....a stole....looked horrible on her....did not enhance the dress she was wearing.

Besides she was so awkward draping it on herself.

Melania would have looked beautiful in it.

eriously, a brokered convention and new, untainted third choice candidate is looking better and better all the time.

Fell for the GOPe ploy did ye?

Unlike many here, I do not treat treat these guys like some High School sports team and I am some type of junior varsity cheerleader jumping up and down waving pom poms and doing shout downs with the cheerleaders of the opposing crowd.

I treat them like potential job candidates to be the president of the company I founded and built.

Both Trump and Cruz have job qualifications, career accomplishments and executive competency levels that would make either a superb and effective President.

They have different styles but IMHO both their styles have pluses and minuses which make that issue a wash.

Both want the job badly and both are highly motivated and energetic.

What it comes down to are what are ultimately the three most important characteristics a needs to be successful. They are character, judgment and ability to operate and make quick, sound decisions under extreme pressure and fatigue.

Soon, one of these guys may be President and will have to be effective in office.

Both candidates are currently showing very poor judgment in the conduct of their campaigns first by entering into this no win, mutually destructive s**t fight in the first place and second by the petty, emotional and ill advised manner in which they conducting their self induced and self inflicted fratricide.

The general tone, gutter level engagement, the sheer irresponsibility, the recklessness and disregard for the interests and image of the country and office of the President while operating on the world stage with friends and foes alike watching every move, the inability to restrain the selfish desire to fight their personal little feud in the midst of a campaign where the future of the country and the world hangs in the balance, lack of tactical and strategic consideration in their asinine food fight, the disingenuous of their accusations, lies and distortions over the most flimsy and irrelevant of issues and lack of civility and gutter level engagement by both sides goes directly to both judgment and character and both candidates are really showing off and highlighting their lackofs, limitations, personality defects, and other character and judgmental flaws.

They are both showing that their liabilities and predisposition to making bad decisions and poor judgment calls when working under pressure.

How so?

Both have sky high negatives with women and younger voters who they absolutely must win if they are to beat Hillary Clinton or who ever ends up on the Democrat side.

This kind of crap is not helpful to attract these critical demographics.

The Republican Party is on the verge of a bitter civil war and both candidates should be trying to diffuse tensions instead of inflaming them - not just for their own selfish good or the even more selfish good of the Republican Party.

You may not grasp this , but there are several THOUSAND other Republican candidates who are going to be on the same ballots as the Republican nominee and this BS is going to drag them down in the same F**kn’ train wreck Cruz and Trump are engineering for themselves in the General with their childish, petty and narcissistic little tempest in a tea pot food fight.

They have both committed the most basic and the most unforgivable and mortal of political sins and violated Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment, “Thou Shalt Not Speak Ill Of Another Republican”. Not just Trump and Cruz are going to pay for their sins themselves, instead thousands of Republicans at the State and local level are going to pay for their sins as well.

Ultimately the whole country will end up paying the price if Democrats take the Presidency and wide spread control of down ticket positions..

Lastly, if you are going to fight do a good job and put on a good show of it. Make it Ali Vs Frazier and the Thrilla’ in Manila not John Belushi and the food fight from Animal House. They are doing a pathetic, crap job of fighting each other that does not even rise to the level of the Animal House food fight. Frankly, it's embarrassing and beneath not just them, it's beneath the office of the President they both aspire to.

The rest of the world's leaders are watching in disdain and amusement at amateur hour on parade and their is nothing they enjoy more than watching a political train wreck, especially an American one.

That's just the highlights, but when it's all said and done, both candidates are demonstrating very poor decision making skills when under pressure.

The whole world is watching the spectacle of the two major Republican Presidential candidates showcasing their disqualifications to be president which may have profoundly negative consequences for themselves and ultimately for the country once they become President

Both are currently showing zero leadership skills.

Both need to clean up their acts and follow the 11th Commandment. They need to straighten up, fly right and show they have what it takes to be President

Rant Off

Correct. Ryan came out with speech yesterday about the tone of the primary campaign. Now we have both front runners making fools of themselves. Ryan, who didn’t want to be speaker, the speaker of the house, who doesn’t want to be president, seemed pretty presidential.

All they have to do is make us sick of Trump and Cruz and Ryan rides in, or another GOPe stooge, to the rescue.

He was referring to the nick name that Roger Stone has earned...

do you know what ‘copulate’ means? It wouldn't matter what man Cruz was referring to, the outcome would be the same... obviously Cruz is loosing it when he starts referring to having sex with other men, a major sign of not being able to keep ones faculties in tact due to what? That there is some truth to this?

I totally disagree with your assessment of Trump. It’s all opinion, and I disagree with it.

And calling Cruz a “mental case” isn't being “haughty”?

Well, the man did come out and say that he would not ‘copulate’ with a certain other man, however, he did not discount the possibility of ‘copulating’ with other men. Conclusion, Cruz is mentally loosing it when such a esteemed debater & supposed constitutional expert completely goes off the rails like he did in that comment in response to Roger Stone & Donald Trump. This is what we deem political suicide.

I like it. Trump now is questioned about Fiorina money he gave her. Good!

The look on her face in the Daily Mail pic speaks a thousand words. Reminds me of Eliot Spitzer’s wife. I feel sorry for her.

Who was the gal who said, “In my heart I want Bush, but in my bush I want Hart?”

My first guess is Donna Rice.

better that the dirty laundry is aired now than in the general.

It never ceases to amaze how these candidates think the truth will never come out.

Disagree all you like - you are entitled to your opinion as are all of us.

If the election were today and you were the only voter, Trump would win by a landslide. Unfortunately, there are the votes of another 90 million or so voters to consider.

I have my opinions too, but I take very seriously the opinions of the rest of the voting public too.

I try to avoid hubris and making the same insular, parochial mistaken opinion making process made by Pauline Kael with Nixon.

I won't go into specifics because a much more talented John Podhoretz already did the job for me way better than I ever could

https://www.commentarymagazine.com/culture-civilization/the-actual-pauline-kael-quote%E2%80%94not-as-bad-and-worse/

The Actual Pauline Kael Quote—Not As Bad, and Worse:

“The clearest example of the bizarrely naive quality of hermetic liberal provincialism was attributed to the New Yorker film critic Pauline Kael almost 40 years ago, and has been discussed in right-wing circles ever since. It went something like this: “I can’t believe Nixon won. I don’t know anyone who voted for him.” Several years ago, I went on an admittedly desultory search for the original quote and was unable to locate it.

On Friday, on the New Yorker’s website, the magazine’s film editor Richard Brody offers what may be the first accurate version of the quote I’ve ever seen (I’m assuming it’s accurate because it comes from the New Yorker itself): “Pauline Kael famously commented, after the 1972 Presidential election, ‘I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don’t know. They’re outside my ken. But sometimes when I’m in a theater I can feel them.’”

Obviously, the paraphrase is far juicier than the original, but actually, if you think about it, the version quoted by Brody is even worse, as it indicates that Kael was actually acknowledging her provincialism (“I live in a rather special world”) and from its perch expressing her distaste for the unwashed masses with whom she sometimes had to share a movie theater. What this indicates is that, even then, liberal provincialism was as proud of its provincialism as any Babbitt.”

Moral of the story-

When it comes to political opinion making, make sure you are living in the real world, not your own personal version of Pauline Kael’s “Rather Special World” .

It helps avoid major disappointments

Yes, it is “historic,” but so was The Great Plague, Andersonville, Pearl Harbor and Auschwitz.

Why are we choosing to repeat it.

My worst worst worry is, I don’t see a way out of it.

Let's try Proverbs 7: 6 - 27 ...:

6 At the window of my house I looked down through the lattice.

7I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who had no sense.

8He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house

9at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in.

10Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.

11(She is unruly and defiant, her feet never stay at home;

12now in the street, now in the squares, at every corner she lurks.)

13She took hold of him and kissed him and with a brazen face she said:

14“Today I fulfilled my vows, and I have food from my fellowship offering at home.

15So I came out to meet you; I looked for you and have found you!

16I have covered my bed with colored linens from Egypt.

17I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon.

18Come, let’s drink deeply of love till morning; let’s enjoy ourselves with love!

19My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey.

20He took his purse filled with money and will not be home till full moon.”

21With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk.

22All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose

23till an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life.

24Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say.

25Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths.

26Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng.

27Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death.

The guy had everything going for him, even if he lost the election...why do people do such foolish things that hurt those whom they love?

This might be a good time to remind you, that the “younger voter” demographic is famous mainly for extraordinarily low turnout.
