Ted Cruz ‘Affair’ Rumors Peddled by Marco Rubio’s Allies
Daily Beast ^ | 03/25/2016 | Besty Woodruff

Posted on 03/25/2016 2:04:29 PM PDT by SteveSCH

The truth behind the rumor-mongering, however, is a little more complex. A half-dozen GOP operatives and media figures tell The Daily Beast that Cruz’s opponents have been pushing charges of adultery for at least six months now—and that allies of former GOP presidential hopeful Marco Rubio were involved in spreading the smears.

For months and months, anti-Cruz operatives have pitched a variety of #CruzSexScandal stories to a host of prominent national publications, according to Republican operatives and media figures. The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg News, Politico, and ABC News—reporters at all those outlets heard some version of the Cruz-is-cheating story. None of them decided to run with rumors. Those publications’ representatives all declined to provide on-the-record comments when The Daily Beast reached out for this article.

Breitbart News, the notoriously Trump-friendly conservative outlet, was also pitched the story of Cruz’s extramarital affairs, according to a source close to the publication. That source said an operative allied with Marco Rubio—but not associated with his official campaign—showed the publication a compilation video of Cruz and a woman other than his wife coming out of the Capitol Grille restaurant and a hotel on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But the outlet opted not to report on the video, which demonstrated no direct evidence of an affair.

Trump’s family or someone he respects ... which is really only Trump ... there are few people he listens to ... has done an intervention on Trump.

Someone suggested he back off and let this die down because it is not hurting Ted Cruz.

Quite the contrary, Trump’s approval is dropping like a rock.

The latest approval poll shows Trump at only 31% approval. That is less than 1/3 of the people who approve of Trump.

His numbers dropped since the last poll and they will drop even more after this.

The American people... at least the Republicans.. do not really like this low, sleazy stuff. If Trump were running like the democrat he really is, he could get by with it.

Even his buddy Michael Savage has threatened to withdraw support if Trump does not apologize or disavow the National Enquirer trash.

So, it’s date night without Heidi every Tuesday and Thursday! Well, he’s punctual.

Gary Hart, anyone?

I’m sorry, this rumor is not believable to me. Who would be attracted in any sexual way to Cruz, far less FIVE women, SIX if you count Heidi.

Meanwhile Trump is living the lie. He is not what he says he is. He never has been. If you choose to believe he is who he says he is help yourself to the trough.

Well that was a pretzel of a paragraph.

What is Trump “Not”? What has he “never been?”

It was linked to a blog.
I have no idea how to find it at this point.
This story has legs and tentacles in all direction.

You’ve missed the message. Cruz and Beck laid it on way too thick.

You know Cruz resembles at least two people from TV,
Count Floyd from SCTV and Al Lewis who played Grampa on “The Munsters”, and maybe Butch Patrick.

Did he have to pay?

Maybe that’s why Little Marco is always sweating. Afraid he would get caught.

Unfortunately, men with power do attract some women. It’s not unusual.

"With no fingerprints on Romney/Jeb...they ride to the rescue."

And Romney says, "Hey, we have a Party to run, Ted was bangin' cocktail waitresses two at a time".

Neither Ted nor you have any claim of any sort to speak for all evangelicals.

Evangelicals do not have “leaders”.
Evangelicals have Scripture and the Holy Spirit.

I understand that— but with Cruz the “power” does not seem to come across in any attractive way. (especially when you see him swallowing a white thing on his lip at a debate, it’s more repulsive than attractive)

From all the information that is suddenly coming out, it seems the Rubio camp was sitting on this info for a while. It’s going to take several days to figure it all out. In the meantime, it is impossible to gleen what really happened and who is at fault.

I’m sorry, but nobody likes hypocrisy. That’s the reason why the holier-than-thou, judgmental type of Christian always gets hit harder during sex scandals. Of course, I imagine that you are—without any proof—certain that this is just a slander against Cruz, just like a lot of John Edwards, Jesse Jackson, and Gary Hart supporters didn’t want to believe the National Enquirer stories about them either. I think everybody on both sides would do better to wait and see if the story is proven or disproved before succumbing to frantic, extreme reactions.
