BREAKING: Washington Times Reporter Drops Bomb On Ted Cruz Mistress Allegations
groopspeak.com ^ | 3-25-2016

The April 4 edition of The National Enquirer makes damaging claims about Ted Cruz in a bold, above-the-fold headline. But don’t be so quick to write it off as another silly claim by a silly tabloid. A political columnist for The Washington Times just backed up the story that Cruz had multiple extramarital affairs.

cruz drew johnson

Yes, the very religious Republican presidential candidate had so many affairs and one-night stands that “it’s over for Pervy Ted,” the supermarket tabloid claims.

“Cruz’s 5 Secret Mistresses! Their Shocking Claims!”

“Conservative – Family Man – Evangelical – HYPOCRITE!”

cruz headline

Claiming unidentified investigators and “political operatives” as sources, the rag claims Cruz had five extramarital affairs, which include women who worked for his campaign and even a high-priced prostitute.

cruz ne spread

These are the five affairs National Enquirer claims to be an “explosive dirt file” on Cruz:

“’Randy Ted’ supposedly had a romp with her in a closet at a Republican state convention.”

“It’s alleged that Ted hooked up with her at the Republican Capitol Hill Club in a private room.”

“The two were caught ‘getting cozy’ on the campaign trail.”

“’A very sexy Austin schoolteacher’ who may have had a fling with Ted after he was appointed Texas Solicitor General.”

“Ted supposedly had it on with a prostitute.”

The Washington Times’ Drew Johnson says the Enquirer is at least partially correct. He tweeted on March 25 that he personally knows of two of those five affairs.

Even without Johnson’s defense of the story, remember that it was this same National Enquirer that had the scoop on John Edwards’ affair . And that same story crumbled the political campaign of the Democratic presidential wannabe in 2008.

That doesn’t mean that this “bombshell” about “Casanova Cruz” has guaranteed accuracy, of course. But if the tabloid batted one-thousand on Edwards, then a simple two-out-of-five .400 RBI would carry just as much impact.

Will these new rumors affect Cruz’s campaign? A secret source of National Enquirer sure thinks so:

“Cruz’s image as a Christian Family Man is utterly destroyed.”

The U.S. Senator from Texas currently has 465 delegates in the race to gain Republican Party nomination in the 2016 presidential race. Donald Trump has 739. A minimum of 1,237 delegates are needed to gain the nomination before the national convention, and 944 delegates are still open in upcoming primary elections.

Back in TDC in the early ‘80’s, it was $10 for a short time and $20 for an overnight. My, how times have changed.

You would think that by now Heidi must have the Cruz family jewels safely tucked away in a lock box.
But maybe we should start a salacious Bible verse thread in Religion, as long as Cruz is still loose?

I suspect the news agencies that supposedly have this story and have been sitting on it, were waiting to see if Ted won the Republican nomination. Then they would release it when he faced Hillary. Just a guess though on my part, if the story is even true. But this coming from Drew Johnson gives more credence to the story for sure.

“If you heard Rush today he was downright rude and condescending to Trump supporters, in a way like I have never heard. That makes me believe there is some truth to this story.

I have now lost every talk show host that I liked to this election.”

I am disappointed in Rush also, not in his support of Cruz, but in his distortion of Trump and attitude towards Trump supporters...but, this will all be over soon and we can all be friends again I hope...

You know, it occurs to me that Cruz and company were eager to find a way to blunt the full force of this scandal.

They almost certainly knew that National Enquirer was ready to publish soon since the alleged sexual partners were supposedly contacted by NE.

So the Cruz camp had advanced warning. Maybe they figured that the semi-nude picture attack ad on Melania would anger Trump and that he would hit back.

What surprised them, perhaps, is that Trump hit back with something fairly harmless: "lay off my wife or I'll spill the beans on Heidi". Nothing outrageous about that comment at all -- though Cruz and the media certinaly played it up to the hilt -- "It's an OUTRAGE!"

But notice: because this back and forth controversy was already in progress, it served as a convenient way to deflect the full bore of the scandal.

Cruz is now pretending that Trump is somehow at fault for the NE story and that it's merely a continuation of the "unfair" on-going personal fight RE: Melania and Heidi.

So making this connection partially blunts the devastating charge that a trusTED, Bible-waving Christian man is not as pure as he makes himself out to be.

Unfortunately, linking these two separate events is a big stretch -- and a big logical non sequitur.

Does this line of argument make any sense?

You are probably right. Why destroy the reputation of a guy who could do some nice damage to Trump. And if he ever got the nomination — or even the VP nod — the Democrats could take him out after the convention. Makes good sense.

No matter what happens, Cruz blames Trump. He is obsessed with Trump to a point where it is not quite normal. And his comment about rats showed he is unraveling. I find it sad, maybe the stress of campaigning is getting to him.
