Ted Cruz 'five mistress' affair story is 'garbage repor't spread by 'Donald Trump (trunc)
New York Daily News ^ | 3/25/2016 | DAREH GREGORIAN

Married man Ted Cruz denounced a supermarket tabloid tale alleging his affairs with serial mistresses, blaming nemesis Donald Trump for planting the bogus report.

The Texas senator came out swinging Friday at both The Donald and the National Enquirer over a two-page spread that identified his quintet of lovers as "a hooker, a teacher & coworkers."

The prostitute was billed in the story as a "$1,000-a-night Washington call girl."

"I want to be crystal clear: these attacks are garbage,” Cruz ranted on his Facebook page. “For Donald J. Trump to enlist his friends at the National Enquirer and his political henchmen to do his bidding shows you that there is no low (where) Donald won’t go."

At a campaign event, the son of a Texas preacher called the story charing him with multiple affairs as "complete and utter lies ... a tabloid smear."

“At least Ted Cruz didn’t donate to Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi & other leftists.”

A) These are accusations. They have not been proven. When I see these women come forward to say they had an affair with Ted, then I might reconsider. But really, politicians tend to do these things & it really is Heidi’s problem, not mine.

B) Trump has already ADMITTED he’s an adulterer, so if you have an issue with that, you can’t very well support him, can you? Plenty of hypocrisy going around these days.

Ted Cruz has fought for the constitution, protected our 2nd Amendment Rights & states rights. He’s the most likely to do so from the oval office.

Donald Trump has been all over the map as far as liberal, progressive, conservative, moderate, whatever. He’s been inconsistent on policy & beliefs, not to mention his personal value system. Why on earth would I support him?

This story has been bubbling under the surface for months. Someone at at BB knew it and threatened to release it, but, was held back. My theory is that it was sold to the NE from someone at BB. Of course, Ted has to blame Trump - that’s all he’s got. He’s a liar, cheat and thief. If true, then he needs to blame himself fot his philandering ways - not blame someone else.

I think we can all agree, Donald didn’t go into this with a history as pure as the driven snow.

Whatever he did (and there are even juicier scandals in his history) it seems to have come to a screeching halt with his current candidacy. At least he knows how to concentrate on a new goal.

I am not one to begrudge any politician an opportune piece of ass, but you are being hypocritical as hell with this.

This seems like a perfectly credible response, since these rumors surrounding Mr. Ted Cruz have been around for quite a while.

Lets hope Ted gets all this ironed out.

No, Trump did not threaten anyone, bozo. Stop getting your news from the MSM - all they do is lie. And, so does Ted.

The folks that are upset with multi-party donations have never been in any major business. You even need to grease palms to open a lemonade stand in some localities.

And, you know this to be true, how? One of the 10 Commandments is do not bear false witness. Without proof, that’s exactly what you are doing. Just because NE endorsed Trump doesn’t mean he fed this to them. Grow up!

-- No, Cruz cannot sue the Enquirer because the Enquirer merely reported the existence of an allegation or rumor - it did not report the story itself. --

I think that is an open question. By your test, "just spreading rumors" becomes an absolute defense.

Reporting a rumor does not require investigating its truth | Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press

The trial court agreed, as did the appellate court, which relied on the Supreme Court's 1968 ruling in St. Amant v. Thompson that the level of fault a plaintiff like Little must prove is shown only if the reporter "in fact entertained serious doubts as to the truth of his publication."

I don’t buy that as an excuse. You still don’t have to be FOR abortion & against gun rights while paying these people off. We have NO IDEA what Trump will do once in the WH.

I have a pretty clear idea on what Ted Cruz will do.

And the biggest one for me these days is RETURNING LANDS TO THE STATES. Living in a state that is 53% owned by the feds is a major problem. Trump wants the feds to keep CONTROL. Cruz wants to release to the states. Good enough for me!

I’m not being hypocritical. These are allegations. Period. Not proven. Period.

Apparently you can’t vote for an adulterer, so that removes Trump from your consideration. Voting Libertarian this year? Writing somebody in? I’d be interested in knowing what politician meets your standards.

I will vote for Trump. No problem.

This isn’t church. It’s an election.

Cruz is a fraud in every way imaginable, but your vote is your own to cast as you wish.

On Tuesday, Mr. Trump tweeted, “Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!” It was his second take on the tweet, after tweeting and then deleting his first crack at it.

Sounds like a threat to me, you bozo. Stop getting your news from the hive mind you Tbot.

Baloney, the women could sue, But they won’t.

Actually, perhaps only some of the women could sue. Any woman who could be deemed to be a public figure - just like Cruz - cannot sue.

Whether any alleged woman who is not a public figure will choose to sue is uncertain. Proving defamation of a private citizen by a media company is extremely difficult.
