The National Enquirer on Friday reported that Ted Cruz has had multiple trysts with women who aren't the one he described as "the love of my life," wife Heidi Cruz.

"It is garbage, complete & utter lies. It is a tabloid smear and it has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen," the Texas senator told reporters on Friday

I have seen no evidence that Mr. Trump is responsible for this story. I have read that a Washington Times reporter claims to have knowledge of two of the women. Also, why would Mr. Trump implicate his own spokesperson?

Seriously though, the National Enquirer doesn't even go so far as to allege that any of the claims are true. They just "report" that someone else (they won't say who) has put together a "dirt file" against Cruz in which the claims are made.

In other breaking news, News of the World reports that someone (they won't say who) has put together a dirt file that contains a claim that Donald Trump had sex with Bat Boy.

My experience is that when a person tell me:
1. he is “smart, very smart”, he is not at all smart.

Actually the Evidence is the Cruz spokesperson on Fox Business using the same talking points and terms as the ad from 2 weeks before the ad ran. There is video on FR about it.

She made a direct denial before uttering the "talk to my lawyer" nonsense.

At this stage of a story, the only reasonable expectation and reaction is denials all around! What is Enquirer going to do about that? Sue them? Even if one of them steps away from denial, it is a game of numbers and credibility, if all the rest stick to the "denial" script (which might be the truth).
