The way the story is phrased (“reports say”, “claimed an insider”) is distancing the magazine from the charges, which is quite different from its presentation of the Hart and Edwards scandals.

Because people are too lustful of the idea of bearing false witness and gossip mongering- Innuendo and unsupported allegations are all that’s needed for many- Just look at some of the comments here in this thread- things like ‘breitbart sat on the story’ as though they didn’t publish the story because they were ordered not to by an ‘anti-trump’ owner- never even considering for one second that hte reason they might not have posted the story was because they investigated it and didn’t find it credible-
Could the story be true? Possible- IS it true? NOONE knows yet, but that doesn’t matter with people eager to destroy someone they dislike- Even if it proves untrue- the damage has been doen and those hwo dislike Ted are deliriously excited that he’s been damaged by it even before anything has been corroborated-
FR has become a feeding frenzy of the most vile oder lately- and as republicans, we should be above that- but shamefully many on FR are acting as bad as, if not worse than, the left- jumping on a Known scandal rag article as though it’s gospel truth before Anything has been proven- absolutely shameful- The democrats are laughing their @#$ off right now and ‘republicans’ are gleefully giving them all the fodder they need for the general election, and these ‘republicans’’ could care less evidently!

Couldn’t agree more! Back when Palin was VP running mate, things got ugly,- Back when Romney ran, things got uglier- but this election year has really taken the cake-
And if there is no truth to it, they sell more papers, and smear a political opponent (as is their SOP).
They accuse the Republican candidates of affairs every election, like clockwork. They have successfully predicted like 17 of the last 4 sex scandals.

Seriously though, the National Enquirer doesn't even go so far as to allege that any of the claims are true. They just "report" that someone else (they won't say who) has put together a "dirt file" against Cruz in which the claims are made.
In other breaking news, News of the World reports that someone (they won't say who) has put together a dirt file that contains a claim that Donald Trump and Bat Boy were homosexual lovers.
You excused Trump’s massive amounts of adultery because he never claimed he was moral. I was just noting how consistent your beliefs are with your support of a political candidate. That’s all.

They planned a backing of Ted and now if it gets to the convention opened they have their excuse to drop Ted like a rock (which they were going to do anyway).
