Blacklisting Conservatives Who Support Trump Smacks Of The Left's Thought Police

In a year of truly abysmal ideas this is easily the worst. Some on the right want to compile a blacklist to punish conservatives who support Donald Trump. They would prove their loyalty to conservative principles by acting like leftist thought police.

"It's time to make a list of so-called conservatives and Republicans endorsing Donald Trump," fumes Amanda Carpenter, formerly a senior speechwriter and communications consultant for both Sen. Jim DeMint and Ted Cruz. "Anyone who will defend a man condoning random acts of violence at his rallies has lost his morals; he will defend anything at all," Amanda intones.

"So I'd like to remember who supported Trump so I never again give any kind of credence to their judgment," writes Carpenter. Not having Amanda give credence to your judgment is a heavy burden to bear.

Matt Walsh who writes for The Blaze, adds, "I think we need to identify the traitors and remember their names" — the "famous and once-respected conservatives (who) have gutted their credibility for a chance to latch themselves to Trump like barnacles on the Titanic." No more credence for barnacle-like credibility-gutters! Don't they teach young conservatives how to write any more?

How will the blacklist work? Will membership cards be revoked and secret decoder rings recalled? Maybe they won't get to be nattering noggins on FOX News and CNN. Possibly, horror of horrors, they won't be allowed to write for (what's the opposite of electrifying?) National Review and The Weekly Standard.

Trump-haters are to be distinguished from those merely opposed to the Donald. The haters are unhinged and given to off-the-wall charges: "Trump is Hitler." "Trump eats babies for breakfast." "Trump condones random acts of violence at his rallies."

The last is not just patently false; it's contemptible. The acts of violence at Trump rallies aren't random. They're premeditated and organized by the storm troopers of MoveOn.org and Black Lives Matter. There isn't a conservative speaker who hasn't experienced their savagery. (I did when the fascist scum disrupted a speech I tried to give at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst a few years ago.) To blame Trump for the mayhem is to exonerate the Soros goon squad.

I don't trust Donald Trump. He's the ultimate salesman who'll say anything to close the deal with voters. You might call me a Trump skeptic. A Trump hater is another animal.

Where were the calls to boycott the conservative sellouts who embraced Mitt Romney in 2012?

Romneycare was the model for Obamacare. Romney was the enabler of gay matrimony in Massachusetts, the first state whose judiciary redefined the institution. Its high court found a mandate for same-sex marriage in an 18th century constitution. Then-Governor Romney ordered clerks to begin issuing gay marriage licenses, as if the court's edict was constitutional and the people had spoken.

As governor, Romney consistently appointed judicial activists of both parties. As for his improbable conversion to the pro-life cause — based on a mythical encounter with a Harvard stem-cell researcher (they were introduced by the Easter Bunny) — if you believe that, you will believe anything.

Was there a blacklist of the opportunists who attached themselves to the SS Mitt — many bought and paid for? Romney was generous in his donations to conservative groups.

Should pro-amnesty "conservatives" be blacklisted?

Illegal immigration is destroying our national identity, generating a crime wave and eliminating jobs for the working class. Are there any conservative principles more sacred than national security and public safety? So where are the calls to punish supporters of Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Jeb Bush, John Kasich and Boy Marco?

In Framingham, Massachusetts, over the weekend, four illegal aliens from Guatemala (two had been previously deported), raped a women and viciously beat her boyfriend. Jeb Bush says it was an "act of love" for the quartet to come here. John Kasich, who wants a blanket amnesty, says they are "made in the image of the Lord." In this sense, so was Jack the Ripper.

Who's going to tell Phyllis Schlafly, the founding mother of the modern conservative movement, that she's now persona non grata?

After eviscerating Republicans who passed Obama's $1.1 trillion omnibus budget bill ("If anyone needs more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker Ryan."), Mrs. Schlafly observed: "It sounds like Donald Trump is the only one who has any fight in him. He will fight on the issues that we really care about... such as the immigration issue." That was before Christmas, by the way — before the first primary vote was cast and the New Yorker began amassing delegates.

The end result of the Trump-haters' hysteria will be to push more conservatives into the billionaire's camp as an act of defiance. If the blacklist crowd understood anything, they'd know that a movement of individualists is the least likely to bow to intimidation.

I am new here but have been reading for a long while before posting. I support Trump and would love a bumper sticker proudly saying I had made The blacklist.

Mark Levin has been blacklisted by trumpsters. Megyn Kelly blacklisted by trumpsters

WTF? Where is your logic? Private citizens who choose not to watch/listen to deluded hacks is not blacklisting. No one is stopping you from listening to them or watching blood coming out of their whatever. Here is an example of blacklisting: If Mark wanted to go on PBS, but the producer didn't want him because he has a list of loudmouth carnival barkers that are not welcome on their show, that would be blacklisting.

Seems to me like ostracizing anyone who supports someone other than “my guy” is pretty common all around.

Nobody’s doing that — except Trumpers blacklisting Cruzers.

Reagan:

Was a Democrat. Became a Republican as the Democrats shifted hard left.

Used straight talk and humor to communicate with supporters.

Pro-Life.

Pushed for and signed lower taxes.

Initially (always) considered too Conservative by the GOPe (except when they are running for re-election).

Trump:

Was a Democrat. Then a Republican. Then a Democrat, then an Independent, then perhaps a Republican. [Note: I may have the sequence out of order, I tend to mix up trump and crist].

Used profanity laced, incoherent babble to communicate with supporters.

Pro-abortion.

Advocates raising taxes.

Never considered by any rational person to be a Conservative.

OTOH, They do both share the last 5 of the last 6 letters of their first names.

“Blacklisting” IMO is a childish, useless exercise. Just turn off the damn radio, or stop giving clicks to the internet commentators.

Very interesting summary. Carpenter directed a tweet to that freak Erick Erickson, saying in essence, “It’s time to do whatever it takes to shut Trump down.”

Some of sites I read, included hot discussion about this comment. People were actually wondering if she meant something drastic—? and was sort of slyly encouraging some anonymous reader, admirer, fan—of hers—to “shut Trump down”.

It’s too bad we’ve come to a point where we have to wonder about the over-the-top comments (tantrums!) from these rabid haters! Is this the first time some of them have ever faced opposition, or ?

Yes, the other’s name starts with an M. Romney in my opinion is pure trash. It was Trump who wrote me in 2012 asking that I give to Romney. Frankly, I regret ever giving anything to Romney. His father, his sons and all the males in his family over many generations here in America Have NOT once served this country in uniform. Not a single Romney has been in combat much less had a blister from a long march in basic training. They are freeloaders. Mormons should not be President/CINC unless they have a family member with recent military service. The same is true of most SDA types. Although SDA’s are more likely to be medics.

Oh dear Lord, please let the "foxy political consultant" in the story that the National Enquirer is about to publish on "Pervy Ted Cruz's" secret mistresses be Amanda Carpenter.

Please, Please, Please. Amen.

“Carpenter is a nasty bitch.”

Yes she is quite demented, just like Beck. I wonder if she started her jihad against Trump so she could become famous. I had never heard of the bimbo before her jihad began and morons on Twitter started retweeting her childish, vile posts. I quickly blocked her.

Carpenter is, indeed, a bitch and so is Karma. Can’t wait until she gets hers.

GOPe attempts to stop Trump while proving they are willing to stop the sham of being Constitutional Conservatives and show their true selves. Cruz is not above leveraging their “support” and will merely say (ala Obama), “It wasn’t me doing it”.

>>This is why the establishment and Cruz has got in bed with each other and it is pitiful to see.

“working in that same capacity for Senator Ted Cruz.[10] She worked in that role until July 5, 2015, returning to her journalism career.[11]

Interesting timing. Did Cruz fire her?

Anybody read an explanation for why she, the president of the Heritage Foundation, “returned to her journalism career” - at such a crucial moment in the campaign?
