The United States is rapidly becoming the very first "post-industrial" nation on the globe. All great economic empires eventually become fat and lazy and squander the great wealth that their forefathers have left them, but the pace at which America is accomplishing this is absolutely amazing. It was America that was at the forefront of the industrial revolution.

Donald J. Trump is the one man that can turn this around.
If he gets the chance...
God bless Trump. He is the last chance. He is a one off there is no substitute.
Except that BI, IBD, WSJ (duh), NRO are all on the GOPe anti-Trump campaign.
They’re part of the GOPe coronation of Queen Hillary.
If she doesn’t get indicted. /Extreme Heavy Sarcasm
Like that’s ever gonna happen. Maybe I’m wrong, but they’re dragging it out.
It is eye opening how many organizations are against a pro American nationalist and patriot.
Yes, and downright scary.
You’re exactly right. All the business interests are ALL-IN when it comes to the theft of our sovereignty.
I’d love to see someone bring indictments against conspirators against our nation.
Soros, all these paid MoveOn and BLM folks, the roiters, IBD, the WSJ, ID...
Bring it on. Can’t wait...
How?
The vast majority of welfare recipients are people who are too lazy to steal for themselves, but rely on the government to do it.
H. L. Mencken once wrote
The state or, to make matters more concrete, the government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they cant get, and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time it is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is a sort of advanced auction on stolen goods.
If you don’t know, it won’t help to explain it to you.
Ii you cannot produce the mundane products of an industrial civilization and if there is a dearth of entrepreneurship and innovation, your economy not only stagnates and contracts but your culture begins to decline. America has already entered an era of post Christian neo pagan decadence. Obama has inhibited capitalist entrepreneurship and innovation with his endless regulations, bizarre coercive environmentalism, high taxes, deficit spending that squanders capital on subsidies of inefficient “green” industries and social spending that increases non productive dependent behavior. The production of real wealth correlates best with the establishment of social justice. Socialism not only impoverishes people but denies them their civil liberties and human rights. Sadly there is no guarentee that America will regain its former glory. Obama was not elected and reelected in a social or cultural vacuum.
There are so many actively trying to destroy this country it’s hard to believe.
And a whole lot of traitors right here in the good ‘ole U.S.A.
You know how. Don’t play dumb. The way Teddie Cruz can’t-—or won’t.
A great book on this is Freedom's Forge
It will bring tears to your eyes to see how far we have fallen.
Most of the WW2 generation who fought the war, built the plans, ships and tanks, andhelped develop the weapons only had an 8th grade education.
Look what they accomplished in less than four years.
We have college educated dummies that know nothing now.
I don’t disagree with you, but I don’t see what Obama has to do with that, either. The process you describe has been going on for decades.
Well, this is depressing as hell.
There is an argument that it doesn’t matter if factories go abroad if the ones that stay here are roboticized with robots built in America . . . but they aren’t. This was George Gilder’s argument that if you watch a DVD, it doesn’t matter where the $.15 DVD is made because the $19.99 of value is added here . . . except it isn’t any more.
There is a very sad, short video called “Life After PI,” about the special effects house in Hollywood that did the Academy Award winning special effects for “Life of PI.” It went broke because Canadian and far Eastern CGI houses, they had to underbid contracts.
One thought is that you get to deduct nothing from factories built overseas, only on plants built in America. But that’s only a start. When people say, “Oh, American consumers will pay more.” True, directly for products, but far less than they are paying now in welfare and social services for 94 million who quit looking for work.
Trump’s solution is to raise tariffs and impose quotas. In the past that has been a recipe for disaster. A better approach would be to shut down the EPA.
I wonder where FR’s super capitalists are these days? There are a few that would argue that what is happening actually is good for Americans.
