Cruz calls Kasich ‘the spoiler’ at Arizona rally

Ted Cruz, the high-octane conservative U.S. senator from Texas, made the case Friday night in Phoenix that he provides the only viable alternative to GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

-snip-

"There's no good reason (for Kasich to stay in the race)," Cruz said during a question-and-answer session with conservative TV and radio commentator Sean Hannity that was carried live on the Fox News Channel. "He is essentially the spoiler. A vote for John Kasich is a vote for Donald Trump."

Cruz's dig at Kasich, made just a few days before Tuesday's winner-take-all Arizona presidential preference election, prompted a Twitter response from John Weaver, the Kasich campaign's chief strategist.

"Cruz is a spoiler. A vote for either Cruz or Trump is a vote for Hillary," Weaver tweeted.

“Over 60% of voters DO NOT WANT Trump and will not vote for him”

I do not know what you are drinking but I can tell it is not good for your health.

I want Trump to get it together and pull enough delegates together to win it outright, with delegates to spare.

Ted Cruz has lost every ounce of trust and respect I had for him, and it was considerable at one time.

“Bet there’s a deal going on behind the scenes.”

Yes, you can bet there is a lot going on behind the scenes. By the way, I wonder what kind of a deal Cruz cut with the Washington insiders?

This silly scumbag still thinks people listen to him and believe what he says.

Laughable.

I like McKeesport but have a thing against full-term Governors. People like Scranton, Romney and Rockefeller. At least Nixon wasn’t a Governor. Goldwater either.

A vote for Kasich is a vote for a contested convention and a stolen nomination. Cruz is wasting ammo even mentioning Kasich.

Cruz may have realized that every candidate who has attacked Trump hard leaves the race within weeks. This list is rather long. Kasich would have left as he’s beaten too, but he’s being supported by the donors to try to deny Trump and Cruz delegates.

Very true.  The contest is moving to Northeastern states and California where the voters are more moderate.

Because he can do the simple delegate math that if Rubio had dropped out on March 1st, Cruz would’ve racked up many more delegates. Trump can only keep winning with his 40-45% if the opposing vote stays split. If Kasich drops out and his votes go to Cruz, Cruz then beats Trump. And most upcoming states are winner-take-all, so Trump gets 100% of the delegates if he wins with 40%.

If over 60% don’t want Trump, then it is only fair and reasonable to point out that about 80% don’t want Cruz. You can’t have it both ways.

By the way, it isn’t over 60%. Take a look at last week’s results, and you will see that Trump was getting in the neighborhood of 45% of the vote. Trump got well over a million votes more than Cruise did last week.

Yes I have listened to him and I usually like what he has to say. How can anyone avoid him unless they turn off their TV. Cruz does niot even get 10 percent of the tv tome Trump gets. Enjoy your Obamacare that’s what trump wants.

You did it again, my friend!! :)

Ted Cruz is so very upset that Kasick is staying in, as he knows it means more votes for Donald Trump! :)

***** I never thought Ted Cruz would turn out to be just another Senator Joseph Paine.*****

Trump was 1, Cruz was 1A for my choices. Ever since Cruz took the side of the anarchists and tried laying partial blame on Trump for the Chicago riots last weekend...I’ve lost a lot of respect for Cruz.

First, I didn’t mean to post & run. But all of a sudden I noticed the time and realized I had to get to bed (I work as I reservation agent - graveyard shift - in the Mountain Time Zone)!

I wasn’t implying that Kasich cheated - not at all - what the state GOP does with absentee votes is perfectly legal. I was simply trying to explain why exit polls were wrong. That is one of the advantages of being a sitting Gov; you own the state apparatus and can use it to help you.

But the Obamacare thing is one of the reasons that Trump calls Cruz a liar. Trump has been hollering about Obamacare since before it was passed. He has never stopped hollering about it. If there is no other reason to vote for Trump, it is for his health care plan. Simply brilliant.

The most important parts of it, and the ones that will create the biggest savings are items #5 & #7. For the record, these are things the GOP has blocked.

All of the details of his positions that he has laid out, are at the Positions tab at the link above.

All the best...:)

John Kasick is a sorry SOB. He makes me want to puke every time I listen to him try to justify his continued existence in this race. He has been rejected in every state but his own and nearly lost that but he sees nothing wrong with staying in and forcing a contested convention so he can try to seize the nomination without any kind of popular support from the actual voters. You’re a real piece of work there John. I’m sorry to admit that you’re my governor and I sure can’t wait until you aren’t anymore.

It means a brokered convention which doesn’t benefit Trump or Cruz. Only a clear win can settle this issue peacefully and Kasick is guaranteeing that that won’t happen.
