Ted Cruz, the high-octane conservative U.S. senator from Texas, made the case Friday night in Phoenix that he provides the only viable alternative to GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
-snip-
"There's no good reason (for Kasich to stay in the race)," Cruz said during a question-and-answer session with conservative TV and radio commentator Sean Hannity that was carried live on the Fox News Channel. "He is essentially the spoiler. A vote for John Kasich is a vote for Donald Trump."
Cruz's dig at Kasich, made just a few days before Tuesday's winner-take-all Arizona presidential preference election, prompted a Twitter response from John Weaver, the Kasich campaign's chief strategist.
"Cruz is a spoiler. A vote for either Cruz or Trump is a vote for Hillary," Weaver tweeted.

Cruz is absolutely sure that Kasich’s will be his. Bet there’s a deal going on behind the scenes.
Yup. Cruz has horrible judgement. We were exposed to that with non-stop spam and robocalls. Then the sleazy crap he pulled in Iowa?! Then there’s moonbat-Beck, Bush and now Romney, another sleaze-bag. Cruz is surrounding himself with people with poor character and judgement.
(...to the tune of Oh! Johnny, Oh!)
Out, Johnny, Out, Johnny
Why hang around?
Out, Johnny, Out, Johnny, put your ear to the ground
You stick around like an old mustard plaster
You're a bore, a lightweight, a losing disaster
How long must we endure your non-stop chatter?
Your RINO ramblings just no longer matter
Oh, Johnny, Oh, Johnny
Please tell me why
You still stay on the stage though your schtick has run dry?
You're a spoiler, it's true
And when I look at you
It's just OUT, Johnny, OUT Johnny, OUT!

Yeah, who would want an endorsement from a queer? Ted, that’s who! What a lineup of losers.
Don’t for the Bush Dynasty Family to push Cruz out of the way to seat Bush...
‘He withdrew, as losers do.’
How could Trump have withdrawn when he was never in the race? The correct contest is the first and only one Trump has ever entered.
Here is a thought I had the other day:
The GOPe know that most Trump supporters would (holding their nose) vote for Ted if he got the most delegates. At this point it doesnt seem like he will though.
So, as a way to both bring Teds people along, and keep Trumps people from walking in the other direction - they make a backroom deal with Ted. In the brokered they nominate someone like Ryan, and he sez right away that Ted will be his running mate - there ya go. Teds people are not super pissed, because at the least their guy is on the ticket - so that leaves Trump people. Who have stated all along they will vote for whomever is the nom. The GOPe will claim (to Trumps supporters) that since Cruz is a CONSERVATIVE who is HATED by the establishment - yet he is on the ticket, THIS absolutely shows the GOPe is listening to the little people. It would be a solution which they actually could sell.
It would be a kick in the teeth to everyone who voted in the primaries and to every candidate who ran. It would be a betrayal of the people, but that wont stop established politicians. I count Cruz as one of them. I think his ambition is all-consuming.
Now, would Cruz agree to it? I think if he understood that without enough delegates for a clean shot as the nominee, it was his only shot at being on the ticket ... I happen to think he would go for it.
WHY did Trump pull Four years ago? Just afraid Romney would beat him? Trump would have probably won the election. Maybe he was afraid to run against Obummer. Trump must earn this nomination. No, Cruz did not have a head start, but he has a right to stay in . Kasich has won his home state and came in second as the president of New Hampshire and is the most liberal.
That’s why the bastard belongs in jail. Open borders advocates do not believe in the rule of law. Any American killed by an illegal when Kasich is in office advocating open borders, amnesty, Kasich should be considered an accessory to murder.
This sure is one low-energy robocall by Mitt on behalf of Kasich:

Sorry; I can’t find the thread. It was here, on FR, and posted yesterday. I read a lot of threads yesterday, though, and I don’t recall the particulars.
Red Steel, you seem knowledgeable when it comes to delegates. Do you know whether Ohio has a rule that if the delegate winner (in this case, Kasich) drops out, the delegates are obligated to pledge, at least for the first round, to the second highest vote getter (in this case, Trump)?
Why should Cruz get out?
To avoid further tarnishing of his reputation for participating in the present activities of the Washington Cartel.
I saw where Alaska re-allocated delegates after Rubio dropped out and thought that was great! So maybe there are more states like Alaska.
A shame, there was a time when it was thought that Ted Cruz would have made a great Judge in the USSC.
I never thought Ted Cruz would turn out to be just another Senator Joseph Paine.
Alaska only did it because delegates haven’t been selected yet. Once they’re selected next month, any reallocation has different rules.
Had you ever listened to a single Trump rally? He has explained exactly why he didn’t run then. In fact, if you go to YouTube, watching interviews going back to the 1980’s when he was asked even then, about running for president, his answer was the same as it was until June, 2016.
Cruz did indeed have a head start, but failed to take advantage of it. Then again, few paid attention because he had no accomplishments to run on....and none now to run on, btw. Other than being the designated mule for the establishment now.
Speaking of Kasich, do you know why he won? I’m from Ohio, after all. He only placed in NH because he went almost 6 months without once doing his job in Ohio; the Lt.Gov has been running the state all along. He only visited lately to campaign. The reason the exit polls were wrong were because, as gov, he controls the state apparatus. That includes the tracking down of the snowbirds that go to the warmer climes (like my in-laws, for example) for the winter and harassing them until they cast an absentee vote. This has been going on in Ohio since I was a little kid. And I am no spring chicken, btw. They “bank” these votes, and there are tens of thousands of them. That is how Kasich won.
I repeat, now that the cat is out of the bag, anyone who knowingly votes for Cruz is on notice, that their vote will be handed over to God knows who at the convention. And it will not be Cruz. And I hope that Trump doesn’t in any way join up with him, because Cruz has put his voters up for sale to a mystery buyer.
I find this diabolical.
“Sometimes I wonder about Cruzs judgement. Those Kasich delegates? If Kasich drops out, what incentive would they have to go to Cruz? Its quite possible that just a handful of them would be all that Trump needs to reach a majority.”
That is a good observation. Seems that Ted continues to shoot himself in the foot.
“Someone posted that Ohios delegate rules would require them all to go to Trump if Kasichs drops out. I.e.: they have to then pledge to the second highest vote getter.”
Interesting. That is a possibility.
“And dont forget Graham”
