NEW YORK A CEO of a fast-food company is causing a stir on social media after claiming that he wants to create a fully automated restaurant.
We could have a restaurant thats focused on all-natural products and is much like an Eatsa, where you order on a kiosk, you pay with a credit or debit card, your order pops up, and you never see a person, Carls Jr. CEO Andy Puzder told Business Insider.
Puzder says the automated restaurant would be cheaper since he wouldnt have to worry about rising minimum wage.
If youre making labor more expensive, and automation less expensive- this is not rocket science, Puzder said.
Theyre always polite, they always upsell, they never take a vacation, they never show up late, theres never a slip-and-fall, or an age, sex, or race discrimination case, says Puzder of swapping employees for machines.

I hope he enjoys the Marxist protesters showing up on his lawn and at his kid’s school. The constant trashing in social media. Being in the focus on cable news every night. Cause the Left is gonna go FULL ALINSKY on this guy.
I hate vending machine food.
Horn and Hardart in Philly did it for years in their “Automat.”
But someone needs to refill the empty slots. It cannot be completely automatic.
Good food, clean surroundings, unpretentious. Horn & Hardart comes to mind.
I do. Went there one time. Was astonished even then at how expensive an egg sandwich could be. To make things worse, no PBJs. You know, the politicians will simply place a huge tax and regulation burden on anyone who opts for robots.
$15 per hour minimum wage has consequences.
There was an exhibit of the Automat in the NY Public Library across from Grand Central Station when I visited NYC a year and a half ago.
Where will I go to get my Surly?
Without a doubt this will be a boutique location in some venue like Universal City Walk in Hollywood, the Las Vegas Strip, or a big theme park's commercial business area.
If they instead plant this near in a random urban location with a room with sit-down tables indoors or out you can bet the customers will see a lot of police officers instead of the 'never see a person' idea. It wouldn't take a week before you see the hijinks of the wisdom of an unsupervised Carl's Jr on YouTube or WorldStar.
I want to know what happens when a robot customer shows up ?
Ya, I remember those automat places.
But, what am I missing? Don’t you still need some employees to restock the good, clean the floors, pick up trash, etc?? Is this guy saying that fewer workers are needed, as opposed to no human beings working there at all?
They should advertise that they have a $50/hour minimum wage policy. It’ll be funny to see libs make that their favorite fast food place because of the policy while totally missing the important detail.
$15...why not make it $50? Results will be the same except that you’ll be out of a higher paying job you morons.
The problem is that these fully automated systems will only work in polite societies. Without a person present, certain demographics will rip them apart. Or, they will take control of it and create their own store front, selling at a markup.
Coffee has to be one of the easier things to automate as well. Coffee vending machines have been around a long time.
Don’t we already have robotic cops? Station one of those there.
As to areas that would likely destroy the machines.... they will simply be left out.
“So, let’s have another cup of coffee,
“And let’s have another piece of pie.
Was that Automat? Or was it Bickford’s?
