Ted Cruz vows to mock Trump at AIPAC for skipping Fox News debate
CNN ^ | March 16, 2016

Ted Cruz on Wednesday mocked Donald Trump for bowing out of a debate next week in Salt Lake City, and the Texas senator vowed to call out the GOP front-runner at a gathering of a major pro-Israel lobby group next week.

Trump said earlier in the day that he would not participate in the Fox News debate in Utah on Monday, and John Kasich quickly said that he wouldn't attend if Trump didn't. Later on Wednesday, Fox News formally canceled the event.

Trump said he would use his time instead on Monday to address a conference hosted by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the prominent pro-Israel group. Cruz's campaign said in a statement Wednesday that Cruz would use his time at the same conference to "highlight Trump's positions -- or lack thereof -- in front of the thousands of AIPAC members in attendance."

"Let's be intellectually honest about what's going on here -- Donald Trump is scared to debate Ted Cruz next week,"

Trump has done what 12 debates and won everyone of them according to the polls. Trump leads in Delegate count too.

Why would Trump need to do another boring debate?

The Establishment wants to set up Trump, and they are mad that he will not play their game.

Well as long as he does it using his usual humor it will be fine, because nobody will be able to bear watching it.

Trump doesnt want a one on one debate with Cruz. Cruz has more class than Trump. PERIOD.

Cruz is so classy that he's detonating his own campaign much the same way Rubio did. It began with Cruz siding with Hillary Clinton and Obama with the Chicago rioters, and it'll escalate as Cruz goes to a Israel conference to give his anti-Trump stump speech for the 10,000th time.

Kasich backed out. He’s afraid of Cruz too.

I understand partisanship and begrudgingly admire your loyalty to your candidate. But you can't possibly be this stupid.

Kasich realizes that if Trump isn't there, there's no reason to show. Nobody will watch.

C'mon already!

Trump ran away from the debate. Probably a good decision. He knows almost nothing beyond a few pat phrases. That was OK back when there were lots of candidates. Can’t hide his ignorance when there’s only three guys dividing the time.

Except Kasich refused to debate Cruz one on one.

Fox offered Cruz a Town Hall type setting. He turned it down. Free time to himself.

Bless his little heart. He doesn’t get it. All they intended to do was go after Trump. Good for Trump.

Going to a conference to mock someone isn’t classy. Well, maybe you see it as classy but I suggest that most people won’t see it that way. Particularly when Trump is reaching out to everyone

FoxNews canceled the debate. They probably wouldn’t get very good ratings without Trump. Probably not too many people would watch.

You must have missed his posting history. This is positively brilliant compared to a lot of it.

Ted Cruz is like school in the summer time.
No class.

No, Cruz is like the kid in school that reminds the teacher to give homework.

Suppose they had a debate and only Cruz showed up? He'd say everyone was too scared of him to debate instead of admitting they don't want to waste their time.

I think Trump is just sick of Ted’s theatrics, Kasich’s “I’m just a gentle son of a mailman” schtick, and the Fox prosecutorial fiasco. I’m also sick of it and had to make myself get through the last one.

Thank God he’s taking a pass.

Intellectually honest. Ugh. Just when I think maybe he and Trump should join forces to thwart the GOP, he pulls this kind of crap.

I want Newt as VP. Never Cruz. ;)
