Well duh...

No question that tariffs raise the price of consumer goods, their very purpose as a defense for OUR economy.

And once again, free will is dismissed from the argument. The consumer desirous of the imported product has the choice of paying the higher price, seeking an alternative product, or doing without. A free local market guarantees that comparable products will be introduced at price points to satifisfy the consumer. Always has, always will.

Name one single item produced for a mass market that would be denied a spot in the market place, just one.

Hehehe. Ronald Regan on protesters at political rallies:

"I was picketed a few days ago in California by some youngsters that had signs that said, "Make love, not War." The trouble is that they did not look like they were capable of doing either. This fellow that was doing the talking had a haircut like Tarzan, he walked like Jane, and he smelled like Cheetah."

My wife and I are doing our part to end Rubio’s quest today by voting Cruz in FL.

Tariffs are shooting yourself in the foot as explained - they don’t punish the importer, they force higher prices to the American consumer, lowers our standard of living, and hampers our economy.

Trump did a good job of destroying that sophistry. If you place tariffs on products, you make the imports more expensive and less competitive with American products. Yes, the consumer may pay more, but American factories staffed by American workers will make those products for domestic consumption. China needs the US market far more than we need it for our exports. We are the world's biggest and wealthiest market. We are being ripped off.

And as Trump pointed out, this gives us leverage so that we can increase access to China's markets for our exports. If the Chinese are not playing fairly, what is the alternative? Shut up and continue buying their stuff?

Free will is the whole point of the argument. If an importer is offering the best quality for the lowest price and government forces higher prices on those goods, then the government, as usual, has narrowed the best choices available to the consumer. That’s just common sense.

The problem in America is the federal government has made the U.S. so unfriendly to business by forcing high costs of doing business that there are fewer and fewer domestic products that are “comparable” in price and quality. And, again, tariffs do NOTHING to address these underlying causes of business and industry fleeing the country.

I heard that several polling places in FL are running out of ballots because the turn out is so heavy.

Since turnout has been his thing, and in a big way throughout the primaries, this is probably a strong indicator for Trump.

They may be calling Florida real early tonight.

Chicom slave labor has totally distorted the “free” market. I noticed from old ads that a lawn mower is cheaper now than it was in the 1980’s.

OK, so I checked, the trade deficit is about 365 bill for 2015. Total trade near 500 bill. They put tariffs on our goods, cheating the agreement in other words, which keeps our companies out of their country. We should, of course, declare they have abrogated the trade agreement and either renegotiate or apply an equal tariff to their products. Our p-whipped government doesn’t do that though, they just obfuscate and let the Chinese (and others) continue to cheat. That is what Mr. Trump means to stop.

“Free Trade as executed in the latter part of the 20th century is a net destructive force on western civilization as a whole. Its shameful and indefensible, socially, economically and morally.”

That is what free traitor Ted Cruz wont stop. And that’s why the donors and GOPe will line up behind him grudgingly. Trillions at stake here and Ted Cruz won’t be standing with us.

Crazy thing is when i went to vote this morning in Florida, guy in front of me wanted to vote gop but was denied because he is registered independent, further some friends of ours who are all Trump supporters didnt switch to change there registration in time to vote in the gop primary. If independents could vote in our primary Trump would do better down here. Frankly I have voted Libertarian since 2008 but kept GOP registration just for primary purposes, voted Trump today and will in November.

Being pro-constitution to our own detriment is just what we DON’T need. I think we’re past that point. The constitution is dead, for now. At least moribund.

[but was denied because he is registered independent]

He had plenty of time to change his party status. It is pointless to be an Independent, because an Independent position results in losing your vote in the primary.
