REPUBLICAN WIMPS ABSOLVE THE RIOTERS
WND ^ | March 14,2016 | PATRICK J. BUCHANAN

Posted on 03/14/2016 4:15:25 PM PDT by Hojczyk

Friday evening’s Donald Trump rally in Chicago was broken up by a foul-mouthed mob that infiltrated the hall and forced the cancellation of the event to prevent violence and bloodshed.

Brownshirt tactics worked. The mob, triumphant, rejoiced.

Friday night cried out for moral clarity. What we got from Trump’s rivals was moral mush that called to mind JFK’s favorite quote from Dante: The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis maintain their neutrality.

As news outlets have reported, Friday’s disruption at the University of Illinois-Chicago auditorium was a preplanned assault.

Behind it were the George Soros-funded MoveOn.org, Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street, Hispanics hoisting Mexican flags and cop-haters carrying filthy signs to show their contempt for police.

People for Bernie, a pro-Sanders outfit, tweeted, “[This] wasn’t just luck. It took organizers from dozens of organizations and thousands of people to pull off. Great work.”

Now, Sanders did not order this assault on the civil rights of Trump supporters. But MoveOn.org has endorsed him, and “Bernie” signs and T-shirts were everywhere among the disrupters. Hence, he has a duty to disavow this conduct and those who engaged in it.

Prediction. Given their “victory” in Chicago, MoveOn.org and its allied nasties will try to replicate it, again and again. And as Americans came to despise the ’60s radicals, they will come to despise them.

And, as in the 1960s, the country will take a turn – to the right.

America has changed from the land we grew up in. But she is not yet ready to allow ugly mobs screaming obscenities at Trump and his folks inside and outside that hall in Chicago, or their paragons like socialist Bernie Sanders, to take over the country.

I think Cruz support has dropped from around 23 to 17 percent here in the FR Daily Caucus because of this.

Cruz showing incredible flexibility but he did not apologize for blaming the victims of a riot.

The simple fact that all this violence occurs when protestors enter a Trump rally should make it clear to even a 1st grader, that if he protestors didn’t go to the Trump Rally and disrupt the rally THERE WOULDN’T BE VIOLENCE.

Cruz blamed the victims of a riot, blamed their responding with self defense. I’d hate to have to go to war under a commander like that.

Nope....he was talking about the Trump supporter, in St Louis, who sucker punched a protester earlier in the day and the reports of a woman reporter being "manhandled" by a Trump employee. Cruz said he believed more violence "like these episodes" would be following if Trump continued to promote "punching out" people who disagreed with him.

About the protesters in Chicago....Cruz said they were WRONG to try to interfere with Trump's freedom of speech. He NEVER said Trump was responsible for MoveOn and Black Lives Matter pulling their thug tactics.

I don't think you have to worry about going to war with Cruz. A majority of Americans don't seem to care about the "old crap" of Conservatism/Constitutional Republic/Legal (or moral laws) anymore.

Looks like we will have either an Obama like "narcissist" or Hillary.

Good luck "going to war" with that......

I just said that by condemning Trump instead of the protestors, the anti-Trump politicians are taking the focus off of the Left.

To be honest, I don't think ANY of the Republican nominees are massively thinking about the LEFT right now. I think they are trying to win an election against fellow Republicans.

Words matter a great deal, which is why Cruz is being condemned. I honestly have no idea how you read my post to suggest that words don’t matter.

My apologies if I didn't understand what you were trying to say. Let's try this again......because I may be missing your meaning.

Do you honestly think for a second that these Leftist thugs wouldn’t attack Cruz if he held a big convention in Chicago? He may be trying to kiss up to the GOP-e now, but he’s promoted conservative thought enough to the point where he would be a desirable target for the Left.

I KNOW the leftists hate Cruz....but why should they mess with him now since the "right" is doing such a good propagandist job of destroying him? All they have to do is sit back and enjoy the show....but I know that would change in a heartbeat should he get "closer" to the White House.

Were Cruz to be attacked by Leftist thugs, it certainly wouldn’t be Cruz’s fault. Under this hypothetical, the only appropriate response from Trump would be to condemn the protestors.

Okay...as I listened to Cruz's comments, I heard two things. About the Chicago protesters, he said that it was wrong to try to "silence Trump"....which is a trick the left uses quite often and he didn't agree with that.

I DON'T AGREE with that tactic either.

The St Louis episode that happened earlier in the day when a Trump attendee sucker punched a protester...and the reports coming out of a reporter being "manhandled" were when Cruz talked about campaigns being responsible for the "mood" of their followers and how Trump's "punch them out" rhetoric was going to produce more episodes similar to these two incidents.

I AGREE with that assessment, too. That's the playbook Black Lives Matter use against anyone that doesn't agree with them.......I REALLY don't like it when "our side" does the same thing.

I acknowledge the fact that the Left cannot be reasoned with. I personally have no issue with getting rid of them by any means necessary, and execution has traditionally been the best deterrent to criminal activity. They do not merely disagree with us. I would certainly hope that someone who legitimately believes Trump is a Leftist would seek to have him removed by any means necessary.

Hmmmm, so would you just execute the leftists who broke the law....or execute ALL dissenters on the left?

Hmmmm, there have been protesters at the other candidates rallies and I haven't seen a protester get violently attacked by supporters yet.

And as a USMC, as your tag suggests, do you REALLY want to fight for a country where you are only allowed to dissent in a "certain way" or you will be physically harmed?

Cruz is on video. Sorry you didn’t see it. He showed he is a wimp and a backstabber. Cruz says Trump encourages violence. The Communist Left wing attacks Trump rallies and Cruz cries about the violence of Trump and his supporters.

I am proud that we Trump supporters FIGHT BACK. AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO WAIT TO GET HIT IN THE FACE. YOU COME SCREAMING PUSHING SPITING, WE KNOCK YOU OUT.
They don’t bother Cruz because he is no threat to the Left. They knew and now we know, he was a coward.

Whew and to think I supported him, that was close. I wouldn’t trust Cruz with a snowball in hell.

The old man could very well have been a plant.

All the more reason Trump should have disavowed his actions.

Here are the laws broken by your buddies

This is the logical fallacy known as straw man. The protesters are not my "buddies". I have never said ANYTHING to support the actions of the protesters. So please quit attempting to put words into my mouth.

I have said and continue to say, that Trump should have been more Presidential and instead of encouraging individuals to take matters into their own hands, they should allow the security and police to do their jobs. And to Trump's credit, he has changed his tone in recent speeches. But he did miss the opportunity to be more Presidential.

No need to disavow anything. The guy that did it will pay.

No candidate can control everyone at an event. Especially large events.

The thug who showed up to disrupt deserves whatever he got.

He would have been wise to take personal responsibility for what happened to himself in the pursuit of doing the wrong thing.

The disruptor incited the 78 year old man to act and he got wht he asked for.

End of story.

Yes there is a need to disavow the actions of criminals. Trump did not do so and further, crossed over the line is support of a criminal. That encourages the exact type of behavior that should not be encouraged.

Yes, the protester showed up to disrupt the even and was being escorted out as he was trespassing at that point in time. That was the proper thing to do. He did NOT deserve to be viciously assaulted. That is why the 78 year old Trump supporter has been charged with the violent attack.

Trump would have been wiser to express to the audience that he understood their frustration but he needed them in the voting both, not in jail. So let the police and security handle the protesters.

The 78 year old BOY could not control himself like a little child.

end of story

What a leader. We don’t have many like him in office these days. To be honest, I can’t think of a single one.

Thanks, Jim.

To be honest, I don't think ANY of the Republican nominees are massively thinking about the LEFT right now. I think they are trying to win an election against fellow Republicans.

it would be more accurate to state that Republicans are more concerned about each other than Democrats. Rubio is a Leftist given that the only issue he really cared about is immigration, and he at best gave token votes to conservative causes which would either never pass or were guaranteed to pass. Kasich is a Leftist given his love for illegals, the global warming fraud, the Medicaid expansion in his state, etc. etc. The GOP-e is Leftist, though to a lesser extent than the Democrats.

I KNOW the leftists hate Cruz....but why should they mess with him now since the "right" is doing such a good propagandist job of destroying him? All they have to do is sit back and enjoy the show....but I know that would change in a heartbeat should he get "closer" to the White House.

The Cruz/Trump flamewar was indeed an idiotic spat encouraged by the GOP-e, and until Cruz distinctly attacked Trump with the exact same lines Rubio did in a debate while declining to attack the two RINOs, it seemed rather silly to me to outright endorse one and outright condemn the other. Cruz using the GOP-e argument against Trump during these riots confirmed his treason. Our top priority this election is to gut and flay the GOP-e which seeks to halt conservative policy, and playing by the GOP-e's rules is unacceptable. Trump is far from perfect, and is best thought of as a weapon to be used against the GOP-e and later discarded. Were we in more stable times with few Leftists, Cruz would be the better man for the job.

Okay...as I listened to Cruz's comments, I heard two things. About the Chicago protesters, he said that it was wrong to try to "silence Trump"....which is a trick the left uses quite often and he didn't agree with that.

On its face value, that statement was fine. As the Laz post I linked to mentioned, Cruz's statement was "The protestors are bad, BUT...", and he argued that the second clause of such a statement always contains one's primary argument. I agree completely with Laz's assessment. Cruz mentioned "the protestors are bad" as an afterthought, as an attempt to be the "reasonable moderate" in the debate. Since Cruz was, prior to this incident, constantly stating that moderates are inherently corrupt and malicious (a statement of his I agree with), his lapse of judgment was especially disappointing.

I AGREE with that assessment, too. That's the playbook Black Lives Matter use against anyone that doesn't agree with them.......I REALLY don't like it when "our side" does the same thing.

I'll agree that the guy who sucker punched the person already detained by security was over the line (but only because he was already detained), and he could potentially be a GOP-e plant of some sort. I certainly wouldn't compare the Trump supporters to the BLM thugs, because the Trump supporters causing trouble do so exclusively at their own venues, while BLM thugs cause trouble in public areas and at other people's venues. I don't feel sorry for the guy who was sucker punched because he was clearly the instigator. A Trump supporter who went to a Cruz rally calling him gay or something would also deserve to be detained.

Hmmmm, so would you just execute the leftists who broke the law....or execute ALL dissenters on the left?

Any Leftist who has stolen from the American people (through choosing to vote to tax us through income, or by choosing to accept government benefits which were not rightfully acquired via contract) or who has suppressed conservative speech should be executed. If if is possible for a Leftist to be benign and harmless, I suppose they could merely be exiled from our country.

Objective Scrutator....it seems we think in similar lines about the "danger" to our country....I'm just not "where you are" on the solution.

I believe "true" leftists like BLM are hoping for a violent civil war in America and I'm just not willing to give them what they want until there's no other choice available. At this time, I don't think we've met that threshold.....

I do want to thank you for taking the time to help me understand where you are coming from and letting me share my opinion.

One thing is CERTAIN, like you and I, the majority of our fellow (R) Americans are NOT happy with the path we have been on. By the end of this primary season.....we will know which solution they think is best.
