Ted Cruz: Donald Trump sees protesters as disloyal people who must be punished
Washington Times ^ | March 14, 2016 | David Sherfinski

Sen. Ted Cruz said Monday that GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump views protesters as disloyal people worthy of punishment and that the best response to Mr. Trump is to defeat him at the ballot box, reiterating his own pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee in the fall.

Mr. Cruz re-upped criticism of Mr. Trump for recently having rally attendees pledge their support to him, likening it to an action kings and queens demand of their subjects.

“It’s also reflected in his treatment of protesters, where anyone who’s a protester is disloyal and must be punished,” Mr. Cruz told reporters in Illinois ahead of the March 15 primary there.

“The only pledge that I am interested in, the only hand-raising that I’m interested in is on January 20, 2017, when I hope to raise my right hand with my left hand on the Bible and pledge to each and every one of you that I will preserve, protect [and] defend the Constitution and fight for the hard-working taxpayers,” Mr. Cruz said.

“That is a question the voters are asking: At what point do we say ‘enough is enough?’ ” Mr. Cruz said. “If Donald Trump is the nominee, he is a disaster, and the answer is to beat him.”

Protesters don’t precipitate violence.

Lying Ted and his straw man strategy at work. Call him out.

He wants Trump to use all his time an resources defending against something that is simply NOT true, what an a-hole.

Does part of Lunatic Fringe Teddy’s ‘Positive plans for the Future’ include killing Gays?

I read this today: “Sorry, it’s well established in law that one can’t utter fighting words or egg another on (create the situation) and then claim innocence or self-defense when there’s retaliation. “

Has Ted Cruz gone completely insane?

Another Cruz lie. He’ll never get my support or vote.

Trump has on numerous occasions and numerous stump speeches has stated he would just like to sit down with them and have the opportunity to convince them otherwise.

Ted is just projecting here. He’s the one who thinks people are disloyal conservatives because they don’t endorse Cruz. He’s stuck in his dead end RINO from the right stance.

I switched because I didn’t want a president with dual citizenship who could take it up again some day, if he felt like it.

Be fair, it’s Cruz’s only chance now, he has no choice but to double-down on the anti-Trump rhetoric.

Many of us were freaking thrilled when Trump entered the race. Cruz is now DOA, thank God.

If they break the law, which nearly every protester does, then yes they should be punished. The fact that folks let these fools get away with this crap without punishment for decades is part of the damned problem.

At least they're consistent in their beliefs. Even though Illegal Immigration is breaking the law, these same people are supportive of ignoring the law and legalizing these lawbreakers.

If it benefits them, the law be damned.

Ted Cruz is unhinged.

Actually...he’s just smarmy, IMO. This article explains exactly what this loser is doing. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/14/AR2008091402375.html

To: Pinkbell; All

Did anyone notice that Cruz is NOT talking about the stupidity in Chicago in this article?

No, it’s just “I hate Cruz and this proves it more” crap that’s on this thread. The problem is this article proves nothing except that Cruz will still support whoever the nominee ends up being after July.

Go ahead flame away and prove to me yet again the new face of “conservatism” is to be as insulting as possible and drive away all dissent.

Cruz just keep digging himself deeper!

Cruz cannot understand the difference between peaceful protests and violent ones.

How come none of these violent protests aren't showing up at Cruz events?

I wonder how he would react if his rallies were being shut down.

I’m starting to wonder if his goal is now to to record campaign commercials for the opponent he is almost sure to have in TX for his Senate seat.
