Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz Split Anti-Donald Trump Vote In Florida
A Florida Atlantic University public opinion poll released Saturday showed Donald Trump with 44 percent of the vote and Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz with 21 percent each. With the primary just days away, 5 percent of Florida Republicans still hadn't made up their minds.
If the numbers hold through Tuesday's primary, the billionaire businessman and part-time Palm Beach resident would win all of Florida's 99 nominating delegates in the winner-take-all primary.
If Rubio, Florida's junior U.S. senator, fares as poorly in actual votes in his home state as the poll indicates, it would be a devastating blow to his presidential hopes. If Cruz, a senator from Texas, finishes even with Rubio, that could boost his argument that he's the best alternative to Trump.

Trump has picked up 43% of the available delegates. 50%+1 is required to win. That means Trump has to pick up 55% of the remaining delegates to avoid a contested convention. The fat lady may be clearing her throat but the singing hasn't begun.
Cruz is cukoo. I think that best describes him. He and Glenn Beck are birds of a feather.
Cruz can’t even make the sale on Free Republic
“65% is fair because after Occupy Ted exposed himself over the Chicago clashes very few Trump supporters will vote for him in November.”
I’m not happy about it, but that would be me.
How is it that votes for someone else is anti Trump vote. I voted for Trump and I wasn’t anti anybody.
Donald J. trump:
From the mouth of Donald Trump:
January 23 - “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.”
November 22, Maybe he should have been roughed up . . .
February 1 - If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, just knock the hell out of them. I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees.
February 23 - I’d like to punch him in the face, I tell ya.
I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks.
Now, Sen. Ted Cruz:
This is exactly what Cruz said.
“It is my hope that going forward we will have a substantive, issue-based discussion, where we can have differences about how we turn this country around, that we do so in a way that appeals to our better angels instead of our worst instincts,” Cruz continued. “That seeks to pull us together, and unite us, instead of tear us apart. You know, we’ve seen for seven years a president who often at times of crisis, has sought to divide us, sought to divide us on ethnic lines, on religious lines, on class lines. Americas better than this. We dont have to tear each other apart.”
Asked if Trump should have gone ahead with the rally, Cruz paused for a moment, then said the decision should have been based on public safety.
“But I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face,” said Cruz. “The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates, and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We saw, earlier today, in St. Louis, over 30 arrested. Thats not how our politics should occur. You know, the city of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days, when politics descended into hatred and incivility and even violence. It is my hope that in 2016 we can appeal to our better angels, to avoid going down that road once again.” - Ted Cruz
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Even if true, it does't matter in the least. 35% support is more than enough to win enough states.
Trump supporters get subjective with the truth. Just because Cruz holds Trump accountable for what Trump says, does not mean he supports BLM and moveon.org.
Rubio has repeatedly said he will not drop out even if loses in Florida.
I assure you, Rubio’s 21% voters in Florida will not vote for Trump or will simply sit out the election thus guaranteeing a Hillary win in a pivotal state. Is this what we want because of blind adherence to a con man and snake oil salesman.
Isn’t Trump the guy who said his sister, a federal appeals court judge, who fondly and passionately embraced partial birth abortion, will make for a supreme court justice? Isn’t Trump the guy who gave boatloads of cash to Reid, Pelosi, and the Clintons and the criminal Clinton Foundation and now tries to inoculate himself by saying he acted like like a “businessman,” or isn’t Tromp the guy who has still has not released his tax returns for fear of what it will show: large donations to LGBT and Planned Parenthood.
Well said, Jim.
Sorry that Cruz turned out to be this way. Bleck. I was really hoping that we’d have at least two good candidates instead of just one.
Feel kind of bad for many of the people who were all-in for him only to be stabbed in the back. Can we call this literally theft on top of fraud?

I’d rather have Hillary than that slime Rubio.
Who knows where disillusioned Rubio supporters will go? I'd wager some would go to Trump because of his businesses and part time residence there.
OMG! You ought to be banned from FR just for saying that!
I think you can safely put Rush in that pathetic group too.
What’s the difference? At least let the collapse happen with a Rat in charge.
“This is why polls constantly show Cruz beating Trump one-on-one. ..”
Polls also show Hillary beating Trump one on one.
However, polls show Cruz either beating, or about matching Hillary, one on one.
