Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz Split Anti-Donald Trump Vote In Florida

A Florida Atlantic University public opinion poll released Saturday showed Donald Trump with 44 percent of the vote and Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz with 21 percent each. With the primary just days away, 5 percent of Florida Republicans still hadn't made up their minds.

If the numbers hold through Tuesday's primary, the billionaire businessman and part-time Palm Beach resident would win all of Florida's 99 nominating delegates in the winner-take-all primary.

If Rubio, Florida's junior U.S. senator, fares as poorly in actual votes in his home state as the poll indicates, it would be a devastating blow to his presidential hopes. If Cruz, a senator from Texas, finishes even with Rubio, that could boost his argument that he's the best alternative to Trump.

This is why polls constantly show Cruz beating Trump one-on-one. Trump has won all along because of a splintered vote. He cannot even get a majority of Republican primary voters and 65% of the national electorate will not vote for him

Way to beat Hillary!!

Cruz cant win majority support on his own.

He needs people to vote for him based on just hate for Trump. Most people dont support Cruz because they like him.

Way to beat Hillary!!

If Cruz were a good choice, he wouldn’t need others to drop out. He’d win all on his own like trump is doing.

Neither has Cruz. You Cruz supporters use New Math.

When has Cruz been above 50%? Sheesh! If you take 100% of Rubio’s support, 100% of Carson's support, a smidgeon of Christie's support, Cruz will win. No wonder the Republicans don't know how to pass a reasonable budget.

That’s not good.

Cruz isn’t even really competing there, is he?

This is the same thing that happened four years ago. Romney kept winning primaries with around 35 percent because Santorum and Gingrich kept splitting thg vote.

Underestimating Donald Trump is always a losing proposition.

I’m surprised they didn’t say Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are splitting the anti-Rubio vote.

65% is fair because after Occupy Ted exposed himself over the Chicago clashes very few Trump supporters will vote for him in November.

This is why polls constantly show Cruz beating Trump one-on-one.

I can think of at least 4 recent polls that show something very different. You're embarrassing yourself with this behavior across the forum.

Or Trump and Rubio are splitting the anti-Cruz vote.

If people looked at Cruz more closely, no one would vote for him except the guys whose votes he is buying.

Trump will beat Hillary.

My FL vote was already cast a week ago today for Trump.

After Friday night and the long knives attacks against Trump over the weekend, blaming him for BLM and communist violence, I wish I could go vote for him again and again, to show support against the hordes of rioters, and the so-called “consistent conservatives” who have taken the side of Hillary Clinton against the frontrunner.

GO TRUMP!

So the Anti-Trump vote is 45%? How can that be?

Donald J. trump:

From the mouth of Donald Trump:

January 23 - “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.”

November 22, “Maybe he should have been roughed up . . . “

February 1 - “If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, just knock the hell out of them. I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees.”

February 23 - “I’d like to punch him in the face, I tell ya.”

“I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks.”

Now, Sen. Ted Cruz:

This is exactly what Cruz said.

“It is my hope that going forward we will have a substantive, issue-based discussion, where we can have differences about how we turn this country around, that we do so in a way that appeals to our better angels instead of our worst instincts,” Cruz continued. “That seeks to pull us together, and unite us, instead of tear us apart. You know, we’ve seen for seven years a president who often at times of crisis, has sought to divide us, sought to divide us on ethnic lines, on religious lines, on class lines. America’s better than this. We don’t have to tear each other apart.”

Asked if Trump should have gone ahead with the rally, Cruz paused for a moment, then said the decision should have been based on public safety.

“But I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face,” said Cruz. “The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates, and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We saw, earlier today, in St. Louis, over 30 arrested. That’s not how our politics should occur. You know, the city of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days, when politics descended into hatred and incivility and even violence. It is my hope that in 2016 we can appeal to our better angels, to avoid going down that road once again.” - Ted Cruz

Don’t look now, but Trump is the only anti-establishment candidate left running. The GOPe is now backing Cruz to the hilt and he’s doing their bidding. Fiorino has come out for the GOPe big time, and is throwing all her schoolmarm charm Cruz’s way. Rubio’s a fricking amnesty traitor and Kasich is all in big government GOPe.

Thankfully, Carson has seen the light and so has Sessions and they’re backing Trump.

Cruz has let his ambition get the better of him and has lost it. He’s been thoroughly indoctrinated, corrupted and absorbed by those we’re fighting against. He’s now fighting with the GOP and the establishment political class against We the people.

And unfortunately, some of our very own have been unwittingly sucked into the GOPe vortex.

Well, ponder this; Floridians are very proud of their citrus crops so its likely that a candidate who most resembles the orange is special.
