Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump on Sunday claimed that more than one-fourths of the Muslims are "very militant", in latest controversial statements adding to his anti-Muslim rhetoric.
"It's (militant Muslims) 27 per cent, could be 35 per cent, would go to war, the hatred is tremendous," Trump told Fox News on Sunday when asked not more than 100,000 of the 1.6 billion Muslims are fighting for jihadist causes.
"You're saying that out of 1.5 billion, 100,000, let me tell you, whoever did that survey was about as wrong as you can get," Trump said.
"Why don't you take a look at the Pew poll that came out very recently or fairly recently, where I think the number ... it's something like 27 per cent are really very militant about going after things ... And you'll have to look at it. They did a very strong study. Let's see what it says. But it's a very significant number. It's not 100,000 people, I can tell you that. It's a ridiculous number," he claimed.
The 69-year-old reality show star and billionaire has continued with his anti-Muslim rhetoric, stoking controversies one after another and drawing flak from the world over including his party rivals.
Sunday's remarks come days after he said he thinks "Islam hates us" and asserted that those having hatred against the US cannot be allowed to enter the country.
He made headlines in December when he called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the US "until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on".

Trump is just trying to soft peddle the percentage in an effort to placate and unify. He knows full well that the figure is most likely closer to 72% than 27%.
I guess no Muslims will be voting for the Donald . . . except for those that actually do love their new country and want to see terrorism defeated. A couple dozen votes can’t hurt.

Hard to make sense of that survey, I just don’t believe there an be that many “undecideds,” but Trump probably needs to re-check his stats.
He's pulling figures out of his butt again. Before it was all Islam, then most, now a minority. Nobody knows for sure.
I have never seen a single Muslim denounce their own radical religious problem. So as far as I’m concerned, if you don’t help solve the problem within your own community, then you are just part of the same problem. I would raise that number to 100 percent!

As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

Any non-Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats (Amsterdam - Mohammed cartoons).
