Ted Cruz Says Donald Trump Is to Blame for Violence at His Rallies
NY Times ^ | 3/11/16 | Matt Flegenheimer

Posted on 03/12/2016 4:53:30 AM PST by jimbo123

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas said on Friday that Donald J. Trump bore responsibility for “creating an environment” that encourages violence at his events.

Speaking to reporters at a local Republican dinner outside Chicago, where Mr. Trump had just canceled a rally amid fierce confrontations between his supporters and protesters, Mr. Cruz began by saying that the “protesters who took violence into their own hands” were responsible for the episode.

“But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top,” Mr. Cruz continued. “And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discourse.”

Mr. Cruz invoked the protests and violent police run-ins at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, and predicted that future skirmishes were likely.

“When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that it escalates,” Mr. Cruz said. “And today is unlikely to be the last such instance.”

Bottom line, anyone interested in electing a president will support Cruz.

Anyone interested in electing a cult leader, will hand 45 states to the left.

Your choice.

It’s undeniable that Mr. Trump has been aggressive with protestors at his rallies, but it’s also undeniable that Mr. Cruz has a tin ear on what happened last night. Liberal parasites will protest whoever leads the GOP primary. Blaming Trump is foolish.

The brown shirts used to punch people in the face, but the low information cult doesn’t know history.

You drunk bro? Man. You drunk!

If Ted wins the nomination, he’ll be getting the same treatment from the thugs. I guess that will be his fault as well.

If the libtards are opposed to Donald, I’m for him. Of course the accomplish nothing republicans like Cruz take the opportunity to join forces. No thank you, Ted.

“Not just a Brownshirt, but a racist little Brownshirt.”

Wow! Take a breath little Andy! You think this is not at the heart of the Trump redneck campaign?...take a look at his crowds...by all rights, I should be in the Trump camp...but, to me he is a total pig of a man and not deserving of the office of President!

Trump never advocated going to other candidate's rallies and using violence. Trump only told his supporters to stand up for themselves when being invaded at their own rally.

Much the same as protecting yourself during a home invasion.

You must be one of the "don't own a gun for protection, call the police and wait for them to try to save you' crowd.

Cruz has NOT been " bought off" by ANY organization. He has simply brought to the attention that many times we " egg on and encourage violence " by our words...THAT is NOT getting in bed with them.

Of COURSE BLM is going to use any opportunity, but in this case TRUMP opened up the door for them by words that were unnecessary!!

No doubt the Slimes is well...the Slimes.

Sadly, Cruz did what they reported. As a candidate, he is dead to me. I will cast a write in vote before I vote for him because he has betrayed everything he claims to be for with his Senate votes on Obama-trade, hiring Neil Bush, his “apology” to Carson & his comments last night.

I won’t vote for Cruz, rubio, Kasich, Mitt or anyone else the establishment throws at us. Remember how much they despised the Tea Party and their candidates (uh, remember Ted??)? I’m third party or Trump write in, or staying home. Any republican who joins in trying to steal a nomination from Trump will not get my vote in any of the other elections either. If this country is going to go socialist with the help of the republican elite, then let’s get it over with. I’m not going to vote for people who are destroying this country, whether they are republican or democrat.
