IX Center (This was the Romney Rally. We'll pack them in more.)
Saturday, March 12, 2016: GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Kansas City, MO at Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland. The event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM CST.
Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland
You even had a Chicago Congressman Guitierrez openly calling for it ahead of time. And the local and national media gave him all the air time he needed.
In short, it was the latest attempt to bring the Trump campaign to screeching halt. Last night it failed.
But we must learn from this.
I am thankful that Trump was convinced to cancel the rally. I am quite sure that he was reluctant to do so.
I am sure there would have been hundreds and hundreds of people laying wounded and maybe killed. In short martyred by the media for some silly cause.
Chicago is not the kind of town you do this. The police there will beat you and arrest you, if your intent is to start a riot and hurt them or others. And they should do that.
I am sure Trump wishes to engage them, and talk to them.
Fact is, these people don't know what they're protesting about, and it would be impossible to talk to them.
I LOOKED OUT AT THE CROWD ENGAGING THE COPS. I SAW JERRY SPRINGER!!!!!! and a lot of college kids, who in two or three more hours will be congregating down at Kingston Mines, listening to Blues, and high fiving themselves, about what they did earlier.
What is really surreal, you could just have easily had Glenn Beck out there. He would have fit right in.
I think the lesson last night is this.
Our country allows peaceful protest.
Our country also allows free speech.
You can protest all you want, but to prevent me or anyone from speaking is illegal, and as citizen we should not allow this.
This is what separates our country from others. We respect each other's right to speak. The people who disrupt Trump, are your typical left wing liberal who wishes to prevent people from speaking.
WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW THAT. NO MATTER HOW AUDACIOUS AND TERRIBLE SOMEONE'S MESSAGE IS, HE OR SHE SHOULD NOT BE PREVENTED FROM SPEAKING.
From here on out an area "outside" for peaceful protest can be organized and set aside., but NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED INTO ANY RALLY TO INCITE VIOLENCE. PEACEFUL MEANINGFUL PROTEST IS NOT JUMPING UP, YELLING OBCENITIES AND GIVING EVEYONE THE FINGER.
WHERE I COME FROM THAT'S CALLED, "I DARE YOU TO HIT ME."
The media and the other candidates will seize on this, and declare it a reaction to the symptom of Trump's message of anger. You watch, that's exactly what will happen.
WHAT SHOULD TRUMP AND HIS PEOPLE DO?
1. First off, stop calling them protestors. They are not. Call them intruders, thugs, left wing anarchists etc. Right now you laugh about it, and think their cute. The ones to follow have a true mission, and that is to harm you. So take these early ones seriously.
2. If these true protesters ARE organized in an area outside of the rally, pick two or three to come in after the rally, to speak with Trump. SOMEONE SOBER, NOT ON DRUGS, BUT A RATIONAL PERSON. EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY BE QUITE IMMATURE. I think we'll find that these people share the same concerns about our country as we do.
We'll also discover, a good number of them, are immature and stupid and have no clue about knowing anything remotely related to what Trump stands for.
3. Make it clear from the start of each rally, before Trump comes out, that the rally will not tolerate demonstrations to incite violence. NOR WILL WE TOLERATE ANYONE HITTING ANYONE. MAKE THAT CLEAR.
4. The next time one of these people jumps up, says F you and everything else about you mother etc. holds up the middle finger, they should be arrested. MAKE THAT CLEAR FROM THE BEGINNING.
5. Lastly, realize that the people who wish to harm you will look like your friends.
I don't trust the local cops doing security, or the media covering these events. A person like Glenn Beck, who is clearly unstable, should not be allowed 50 feet from Trump unless he is completely frisked.
The crowds AS HE WALKS OUT are allowed to get too close to him.
Okay, I've said my piece. NOw for a cup of coffee.
The organized group of people, many of them thugs, who shut down our First Amendment rights in Chicago, have totally energized America!
Yes, I agree. This will energize us. I do think that if some of these people are rational and can articulate their ideas, then on occasion they should be invited to speak with Trump.
Those thugs are in no way morally superior to me. I cannot speak for any other conservatives since too many imbibe the nonsense that the Left is the morally superior side, too bad Ted Cruz is one of those who are failing.
He should called them Bernie and Hillary supporters and demand that they repudiate this behavior. Throw this in the demodogs lap
The lefties in Chicago have awakened a sleeping giant.
People will be more motivated than ever to vote for Trump when they see what the alternative is.
Its called the Law of Unintended Consequences.
I was at this freak show the last time it played town from 1968-1974.
It ends differently this time around.
Your home town is Chicago? I grew up in Cicero and moved to Atlanta in 1968. When did you move to Georgia?
Trump will be on Fox & Friends next hour.
One of them on the show said Trump was supposed to have a rally in Cincy on Sunday and it’s been cancelled or postponed.
Hope everything goes well in Cleveland and KC today.
Last night I posted a list of groups involved formatted from Freepers comments, tweets, etc
Question:
Is there any legal recourse to charge these anarchist with infringement of first amendment rights?
BTW Chicago police are now saying they did not advise Trump to cancel the event WTH. Were they wanting injuries and deaths. How irresponsible of them, if they did not advise him
[I do think that if some of these people are rational and can articulate their ideas,]
We had a campaign table at a Jr. College’s mock election. The students swarmed the Bernie Sanders table. They sincerely believe they are entitled to a free education and that the ‘rich’ should pay for it.
Conservatives failed this generation by allowing liberals to brainwash them through the public education system.
“It ends differently this time around.”
How will it end differently this time around? The last time it ended with the election of Richard Nixon. Hopefully this time it will end with the people’s repudiation of the Democrats and the election of a Republican. Right?
I’m from Chicago. College kids out there on a Friday night do one thing. They go out and get high and look for trouble. Had this been scheduled for a Tuesday night you wouldn’t have had this.
Both sides should learn from this.
We are not going to allow our candidate to be silenced. Just this once, but it will not happen again.
You have a gripe against Trump, fine. Here’s an area for you to protest all you want have at, but the days of getting up and giving the rest of the finger, dressing up in your Muslim garb, only to jump up and hold a sign, are over.
You are disrupting an American who is expressing his views, AND THE PEOPLE THERE WHO CAME TO LISTEN. It’s called the 1st Amendment. The 1st amendment. That means it was the foremost thing on the minds of those who listed them.
I AM SURE, QUITE SURE, THAT TRUMP WOULD LOVE TO SPEAK WITH THESE PEOPLE AND TEACH THEM HOW OUR COUNTRY IS DIFFERENT FORM ANY OTHER.
I was in college at the time also.
Thanks, Nikos — again. Didn’t get much sleep last night. Two facts kept occurring to me.
1. The theme of all talking points by MSM, Cruz, Rubio, etc., is that Trump’s rhetoric incited the violence. It is false logic. If that were true, then Trump’s supporters would be the aggressors; THEY WERE THE VICTIMS.
2. Nobody will investigate unless Trump hires private investigators. DOJ, FBI, etc., answer to the White Hut. “We” are on our own — hung out to dry.
Probably no way to charge them.
I saw Bernie signs and a few others. Someone just said on Fox that it was obviously organized as there were pre-printed signs (all printed by the same company).
Read on the thread last night and saw on Fox that moveon.org was behind this - probably other Soros’ orgs, too.
Excellent analysis. I didn’t have the perspective of being there in person but from what I saw on the news, I totally concur except for this.......................
“5. Lastly, realize that the people who wish to harm you will look like your friends.”
None of my friends look like what I saw in that brown shirted crowd of anarchists. They were like a bunch of wild animals that went wilder when they found out their plans had been foiled. None of my friends look like an ‘out of control mob’.
I grew up in Beverly, on the South side right in Chicago.
I then went to medical school at the Peoria school of medicine and lives a long while in Bloomington, IL (where Trump goes to next!!!!!)
And now I’m in Lagrange, GA.
So Trump has been to Chicago where I have my mother and brother and aunt living and a place right off Rush still. I still have my place in Bloomington. So, Trump goes there next.
I WANT HIM TO COME TO LAGRANGE, GA.!!!!!
AND CRUZ SAID IT WAS TRUMP’S FAULT. No surprise that he and GOPe so desperately now ally with BLM. Outrageous.
BTW, I am here in Dayton, went to the Columbus rally, but can’t make this one.
I hope you forgot to add the “/s” ending tag
