This is quite stunning even for a politician as low as Ted Cruz. Senator Cruz has a prime opportunity to highlight the intolerance of the left. Instead he choses to attack Donald Trump:
At a media availability in Chicago, Ted Cruz basically blamed Donald Trump for the violence and protests that occurred earlier in the day at a Donald Trump rally at the University of Illinois-Chicago.

“Ted is a phony”
And don’t forget... Ted is a king, too. His tongue-talking daddy said so.

OMG. Reminds me what was going on in the late ‘60 and early ‘70s. I heard a lot about it. I was a seminary student at the time, and our campus was very protected from the real world at the time. But my DH was in Berkeley and has some stories to tell.
Never having seen anything like this before last night, I was freaking out! I was also glad that our prayers were answered about the bad vibes prior to the rally. Trump is safe; everyone is pretty much safe.

I had to reread the headline. Note where the quotation marks end. This is typical anti-cruz crap which presents a few words as a quote and tacks on a bunch of garbage at the end, designed to give the reader the impression they were all Cruz's words.
In the interest of fairness, it would be just dandy if everyone would listen to what he said. "Political discourse should occur in this country without a threat of violence." and "Responsibility for that lies with protesters who took violence into their own hands."
Summarizing the rest he says that the person conducting a campaign creates an environment which sets the tone of that campaign, and is responsible for that.. If you talk about punching people, you have set the tone of violence and if you continue, that will happen.
What he did not say was Donald Trump is Responsible For Organized Chicago Violence. Those simply were not his words.

I voted for Cruz and support his positions, but siding with the protesters is just too much. He wants to win, but this was a bad move on his part.
Having been harassed by 200 some odd protesters with no police presence, I can tell you I was beyond frustrated to luckily return home safely and flip on the TV to see Ted Cruz support the protesters!
Pretty scary experience for me—ranks right up there with being in a total whiteout blizzard :( Did not appreciate Ted’s comments!

Ironic, isnt it. The left was trying to take out Trump, but they MISSED and wound up taking out Cruz! Ironic and sad.
He could have been a contender

Is Trump the only one willing to stand up to the BLM professional agitators? Sadly, it looks that way

I just never ease to be amazed at people I once respected going off on a multi-post hate screed over a cobbled together headline that doesn't represent what the guy said.
This place is getting more like DU all the time, and I'm not sure some of the people doing it aren't from the other side.

OF course if Trump gets bumped these same protesters will be shutting down Teds rallies. What an idiot. Not who he pretends to be.
