Cruz, Rubio and Kasich criticize Trump for creating ‘environment’ for Chicago protest
The Washington Post ^ | March 11, 2015 | David Weigel

Posted on 03/11/2016 8:31:56 PM PST by lonestar67

"The responsibility for that lies with protesters, who took violence into their own hands. But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top. Any candidate is responsible for the culture of a campaign. And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discord," Cruz said

Cruz has sunk to a new low. I said I would vote for him if Trump failed to get the nomination. Now, I will never vote for him.

I'm glad that Ted is taking responsibility for the recent culture of his campaign in which he talked about Trump supporters being low information and disengaged and his buddy Beck saying that if he got near Trump the stabbing wouldn't stop, nasty discord indeed.

February 22 https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/02/23/donald-trump-on-protester-id-like-to-punch-him-in-the-face/

And that, in your alleged mind, means that violent leftist MoveOn.org, Soros, global anarchists, La Raza, BLM, should take ORGANIZED ACTION to shut down a Trump rally, intimidate rally-goers, and take bats to supporters' vehicles.

You clearly have no idea what America is up against.

Please, just read the article. Sheesh.

Didn't need to. I saw the video. And here's what I saw...Ted Cruz, in a soft, almost apologetic tone saying "Well, yes, the protesters are responsible" Voice rising...becoming shrill "But it's REALLY Trumps fault and here's why" and then goes off to list all the ways that Trump caused LaRaza, Black Lives Matter and other radical groups to storm and disrupt a political rally by Cruz's political opponent.

A disgusting display..

Of course Cruz would stand by black lives matters & Bill Ayers, because Ted is not really a conservative, he is a political wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Nobody will even read what Cruz said. It doesn’t fit the narrative.

America doesn’t want to read, doesn’t want to think. Too much fun just making stuff up.

These rent-a-mobs are losers, and they are backed by both the communist terrorists and the Islamist terrorists, because they are afraid of Trump. Their fear of Trump makes me want to support him.

By the same token, though, when Obama told his supporters to get in our faces we all said he was responsible for the SIEU thugs’ violence. It’s not exactly the same thing because the SEIU violence was unprovoked. But for somebody asking us to trust him to unite people by making good deals, what’s happened here is not a good sign that he is able to calm and unite anybody. We may be past the point where ANYBODY can calm and unite - because everybody is quick to speak (or swing a fist) and slow to listen. And that’s sad, all the way around.

And, of course, you also believe that Jews are to blame for Muslim violence against them. Its soooo logical.

Blah blah...and in elections, being in the minority means you’re a loser!

In elections, you're right.

Not so in life. Your momma probably told you that already.

I'll be voting for a man with character, not Trump.

And don't confuse sports with politics vis a vis "winning and losing"

Too bad you see it that way.

A conscience is a bad thing to sear.

Have a nice day.

It’s not tonight can anger alone. It’s been bad here for months. You can’t seriously deny that he hasn’t stoked the anger and, on more than one occasion, advocated violence. Don’t read the bs article on this site - it’s just the first one I found - read the quotes.

I don't need to read a stupid article. I've watched at least 3 or 4 rallies all the way through. What I see is Trump up there having a good time. The audience having a good time. Trump joking around. The audience laughing. And once in a while a protester protesting and Trump making a joke of it.

The only way that it's "violent" is the attempted media narrative which YOU ARE parroting exactly.

Trump is reckless with his words. That does not mean that the protesters are not to blame it means that Trump is playing along by giving them fuel for their fire.

Even if true completely irrelevant. You'd have to be deaf, blind, and dumb to not see this was organized by left-wing radicals. Trump could have been a priest and there would have been the same mob just a different excuse, maybe Father Trump said they'd burn in hell and the left won't put up with that kind of hate speech.

No, here’s what you say. You say, “Donald Trump paid for that microphone.” You say, “Our First Amendment rights, our right to speak freely and freely assemble, are precious to Americans – having been secured by blood and treasure over hundreds of years – and I decry any group who uses violence to enact the heckler’s veto.” You defend the Constitution, you slam the anarchist left and its fascist tactics of shutting down political speech it dislikes, and you have added honor to your candidacy.
Exactly! If Cruz had said, “Donald Trump paid for that microphone.” and if Cruz had said “Our First Amendment rights, our right to speak freely and freely assemble, are precious to Americans – having been secured by blood and treasure over hundreds of years – and I decry any group who uses violence to enact the heckler’s veto.”
But he didn’t. And because of that, tonight I stopped supporting him. Ted Cruz just lost my support for siding with moveon/blacklivesmatter

God bless you. I am with you.

I donated to Cruz’s campaign almost as soon as he announced. What he did to the First Amendment tonight sucked in a fundamental, unforgivable way.

Now the Cruzbot holdouts are parsing in circles basically

Or they believe our political power on the right should be stymied by thugs and a corrupted media and Republican Party

In any event Cruz lost whatever chance he may have had

And I saw regular Americans fight back and stand up to the usual thuggery

Which was refreshing
