I have no issue with this

It's only to vote in the primary for the candidate, and only if they'll be eligible to vote in November. It isn't totally illogical.

I wonder how thrilled hillary is with this.

I don’t want the voices of dumbass 17 year olds, who has no business voting, when the US Constitution clearly states the minimum is 18.

More democRAT ballot box stuffing.

I don’t have a problem either. My nephew is turning 18 in Indiana before the national election but since that is the case, he can vote in the primary. A pretty red state. Oh yeah we’re a trump family. My wife my son and myself all vote trump on Tuesday in Florida. Can’t wait!

Sure, what can go wrong with an additional million low information voters...

I do. 18 is bad enough.

Why no 15, 12, 8?

I guess even on Free Republic, the U.S. Constitution means nothing.

I have no issue with this.

If it were up to me, the voting age nationwide would be 25 (with the sole exception being active duty servicemen 18 and over). There's a good reason why auto insurance rates drop by about 1/2 when you turn 26: that's about the age when people start to develop an inkling of sound judgment and start thinking with their neocortex instead of with the impulse zones in their lower brain.

“I have no issue with this.”

Me either, it makes total logical sense and I’m kinda surprised it is generating any controversy here.

And LOL to all of you wanting to raise the voting age. If the country can legally draft and compel someone into military service at 18, they should be able to vote.

I do.

Eighteen is eighteen.

But, what the heck, let’s modify all the rules. In the lunatic state of Minnesota, one of our RAT legislators once tried to have the voting age dropped to 12 or 14. Yep, that’s an ultimate leftist goal. Get young minds (if they can be called that) to vote for what is cool, what their friends think is right, or what their media and schooling tells them is right.

We’ve already got wildly expansive absentee voting. motor voting, voters allowed to vote on the say-so of another person in that precinct or by showing a recent utility bill. Furthermore, you don’t even have to show any sort of ID. States are trying to allow illegals to vote and courts are too.

One big happy family - what’s another 30 or 40 million voters that couldn’t find their butts with both hands and the lights on.

If I ran it, you’d need to be at least 21. Further, I’d even go back to the original idea of have land ownership as a prerequisite. If you ain’t got skin in the game, you don’t play on the court.

I do. If you should be 18 to vote, then you should be 18 to vote....however.... technically I guess parties could let 5 year olds choose the nominee and that’s not against the law....it’s a party thing.....

I’m sure they could choose better candidates at least....

Yeah? What the hell! Laws aren't really laws but suggestions. Why bother.
