Last night's debate was like watching one highly intelligent human being, surrounded by a room full of low informational candidates, moderators and crowd.
When Cruz pointed out to Trump that raising tariffs on Chinese goods would only hurt the consumer, he simply responded, just like Milton Friedman, to say, "Ted, then Americans would stop buying Chinese products, and they would buy the products made here, plus those products would come back to the USA to be built."
That summed up the night. I didn't watch much.
Please join us. Donald Trump Press Conference in just a few hours, 9am EST in Florida where he announces Ben Carson’s endorsement then off to St. Louis, MO @ 12:00 noon CST and Chicago @ 6:00pm EST
I love how trump has press conferences. I think he is going to use them a lot as president. Cruz never answers questions in the debate...Cuba anyone? Much less have an actual press conference and be accountable.
Brilliant!!...GO TRUMP!
Cruz ended his career by running for president of the Chinese chamber of commerce.
Your headline is correct—Chicago @ 6:00pm CST, but your post time is incorrect (Chicago @ 6:00pm EST).
Trump won the election with that one response to Cruz on trade with China. I can’t believe Cruz walked right into that trap. Suddenly Cruz is on the side of maintaining one-sided unrestricted trade with China and having U.S. Industry and jobs continue to move to China while Trump is on the side of the American workers. Either we force China to trade fair and allow U.S. made goods to be sold to China or we stop buying their goods and build our factories here again.
It’s more complicated than that but Trump laid it out in terms that will resonate with the blue collar crowd - that’s millions of people that were previously voting Democrat.
Thought as I woke.: both Marco and InsTED have had the benefit of intelligence briefings for information. Trump has had to rely on what he reads in the 5-6 newspapers a day (remember the catch from an ity bitty article). When he gets a daily briefing , he will not only read it but comprehend what he is reading. Did you see the link I posted yesterday about how a genius thinks. It explains the wandering pep talks we have been receiving. He thinks at multiple levels simultaneously.
This guy’s energy is amazing!
I’ve read that Black Lies Matter is planning a major disruption in St. Louis. I’ve also read that Chicago is getting ready just in case there is a riot, because Trump dares to invade democrat and 0bama territory.
But it shouldn't be that way, because there was a significant poll in December.
www.moscout.com
MISSOURI REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT PRIMARY POLL
Survey conducted December 18 through December 19, 2015. 1,528 likely Republican Presidential Primary voters participated in the survey.
Q: If the Republican Primary Election for President of the United States were held today, for whom would you vote?
Donald Trump: 33% Ted Cruz: 23% Marco Rubio: 12% John Kasich: 1% Ben Carson: 8% Jeb Bush: 3% Chris Christie: 3% Carly Fiorina: 2% Rand Paul: 1% Undecided: 14%On top of that, the August poll that RCP is keeping around contained additional data that is relevant. Many candidates have dropped out since August, so for that poll it may be better to look at what were people's (first + second) preferences:
MISSOURI AUGUST 2015 Combined (First + Second Choices) Trump 33% Cruz 20% Rubio 15% Kasich 7%Notice that those two polls really are not THAT different.
Now add to that, the constant polling that is gathered by iSideWith.com, which for the latest 30 days has been as follows for Missouri...
MISSOURI Feb-March 2016 (latest 30 days)Trump 35% Rubio 21% Cruz 18% Kasich 7%
So, based on theese polls, and recent sentiment in Missouri, this state SHOULD be Donald's on Tuesday.
The iSideWith.com data also breaks down each candidate's strength per district, so Donald's and Ted's delegate haul can be estimated as follows:
Likely Likely Trump Cruz Trump Cruz Rubio Kasich Delgates Delegates District 1 34% 16% 16% 13% 5 0 District 2 32% 14% 25% 11% 5 0 District 3 39% 17% 20% 7% 5 0 District 4 33% 16% 20% 8% 5 0 District 5 27% 17% 22% 11% 5 0 District 6 32% 19% 12% 12% 5 0 District 7 23% 25% 19% 4% 0 5 District 8 49% 16% 11% 4% 5 0 statewide winner...................... 9 0 === == Total Delgates: 44 5
Hopefully Mr Trump realizes he can expand his beautiful solid block of red states, and keep Ted's yellow states from connecting, if he also keeps his eye on Missouri.
Donald needs to paint Missouri RED to eventually connect sea-to-shining-sea.
Good morning freeper friend! Thank you for taking the colors up the hill one more time.
Using a football game analogy, several of these debates have been as if Trump, is quarterbacking a team, and several of the plays up to this point in the game have been exclusively running plays, chewing up the field two or three yards at a time. Last night Trump launched a long spiraling pass down field, that put his team in the red zone. The momentum is overwhelming and a touchdown is imminent.
The Cruz-bots are MELTING DOWN over the Carson endorsement.
Damn, I guess this makes Carson a low info voters too.
With Carson’s endorsement, how does Trump NOT take Florida!??
WOW!
VERY Nice
BLM was pretty close up...
Not lazy with 4 big Mac’s in front of her at least...
I didn't watch at all, didn't even read the live thread. I would have if I had known it was going to be civil. I was just sick of it all, the cheering, the booing, the fighting.
These empty headed little leftist brown shirts are far too self-absorbed to realized that they are the biggest threat to democracy and freedom in the USA. They’re so stupid they think that preventing the free speech of others is some great achievement.
Trump’s support in Illinois and elsewhere is gaining steadily this evening as this is telecast across the nation.
