Anxious Republican officials are coming to terms with the idea that their second least favorite GOP presidential candidate — polarizing Texas conservative Ted Cruz — may be the party's best last chance to stop Donald Trump.
"It's an outsider year, and the most logical person to take on Trump based on past performance is Ted Cruz," said another former presidential opponent, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham. Earlier in the year, Graham likened the choice between Cruz and Trump to "being shot or poisoned."
"He's not my preference," Graham said of Cruz. "But we are where we are. And if Trump wins Florida and Ohio, I don't know if we can stop him."
Indeed, next Tuesday's winner-take-all contests in Florida and Ohio have injected a sense of urgency into the GOP's anti-Trump movement.
The billionaire businessman is calling on mainstream Republicans to unify behind his candidacy ahead of next week's primaries, which could give him an insurmountable delegate lead.
"If I win those two, I think it's over," Trump told CNN's "Anderson Cooper's 360."

If Cruz is the nominee, then the JustUs department files an emergency brief contesting his NBC status. Along with their willing co-conspirators in the MSM it grows legs. If you think the left is not going to use that then dream on. If he picks Rubio as a running mate, same thing because of his Anchor Baby status.
Now, with a Constitutional crisis looming on that with Cruz essentially Borked, now it is time to indict Hillary and take her out too.
Under the cover of the executive orders he signed upon entering office, he declares a Constitutional crisis and essentially nullified and terminates the elections under his authority of Martial Law.
The transformation will then be complete. He is just not going to willingly walk away from that airplane.

My opinion of it is that some of the loudest GOPe are so corrupt that they are afraid of a President Trump. The insiders know that he can’t be controlled or bribed the way they can each other. They take bribes, money under the table, sell votes, you name it. It would be disastrous for an outsider to discover their illegal activities.
